    I just ordered mine. Great job on Fanatec products. Helped me out a lot. Keep up the great work. Thank you.

    Nice!! Let's hope the pins hold up better with this QR. And yeah, they really should lower the price a bit!..

    Appears your entire wheel base is moving a whole lot, seems like it would be difficult to judge something as minute as the quick release mount plastic vs aluminum if the whole wheel base is moving around.

    If you look at the Fanatec website, the wheel can now ONLY be bought with the QR adapter, for seemingly the same price? I guess they've accounted the plastic QR as the culprit for the pin sheering problem. I don't have this yet, still on my trusty G27, but will be upgrading to the CSL Elite and the GT3 rim in the near future.

    That part that sticks out is so the firmware can tell if the plastic hub is being used , its pushing on a switch !

    • @normanrobinson1932
      @normanrobinson1932 6 років тому

      Yup, I've read that plastic PIN is actually a "govenor" set to restrict the full potential of the wheel system. With the new quick release adapter installed "CRASH" should now experience all the torque of his system...!!!! 😉 "MORE POWER...!!!!" 😱😎👍🏻

      @Norman Robinson only on the upcoming Podium Series. On the CSW and CSL Bases you get full Torque also with the Plastic QR. On the Podium DD however the software will limit the torque to around the same level as CSW v2.5 when you use the Plastic QR.

    Yeeeeeeaaaahhhh...!!!! 🤗 This is such good news as I've been considering the purchase of the GT3 wheel rim. Since I use a "Large MiGE OSW" I'm hopeful the quick release adapter will work well with my setup. 🤔 Thanks for this awesome review CRASH...!!! 👌👍🏻 Much appreciated...!!!! 😎👌

    Crash honestly I did say for the longest time that QR would be beneficial for you in more ways than one,
    Any how, how's your Safety Rating looking, over 3.5 and your good for the VRS next season buddy, week 13 this week so you can still do it if your behind a wee bit in the mazdas yh
    Peace out g. And catch you in practice for the VRS next season.

    Fanatec McLaren GT3 I have for several weeks .. I had no intention to buy a QR even if you caught a pin in the movies ... but I was annoyed by changing the wheels every moment and in the case of McLaren screwing .. I also swapped QR and I think it's a good idea .. More the second matter the weight of the rim increases ... not much, but always a few more grams. (McLaren 1045g + QR 295g)

  • @kittigruug

    They said to me via email that you should use the quick release, because of the amount of torque the Podium series deliver.

      Do you need a quick release or can you mount a mclarne wheel to a base

    • @kittigruug
      @kittigruug 2 роки тому

      The current version of the wheel comes standard with a quick release. If you've got an old version and it has the plastic mounting system, it is recommended to use the quick release.

    Qr is a great, I use the pin. But still hearing some Clank plastic noise when turn right sometimes (must with bumps)

    I know this is very much like an f1 rim but I really want this rim just to play and not have to worry about anything because I wouldnt be as worried about it as the formula v2 and I just want a gt style wheel and then get the drift wheel I wish they had more wheels supported with xbox see I want the most out of my money I want to be able to sue it with anything is my point but yeah great video man as always

    For my simple mind to understand, please. It works on both the csl elite wheelbase and the Clubsport 2.5 wheelbase with the original simplified quick release adapter, but updating to the clubsport quick release adapter gives you much better quality and stiffness - and it will only work on the clubsport wheelbase
    Is that correct? :/

      Exactly

    • @RTAMOTORSPORTS

      @@RTAMOTORSPORTS thanks for you replies. I only needed to work on the clubsport base, so that's fine for me. I think I will go for the bmw wheel and the formula v2 wheel, with the clubsport base. This way I avoid spending money on clubsport quick release adapters because they come default - and i get rev lights and presumably better quality. Can you confirm that your BMW wheel came with the clubsport quick release as standard? I like the McLaren GT3 wheel though... and I kinda have a thing for McLaren also. I've heard it is possible to map that small center screen to display rev lights. Have you heard something about it? I'm sorry for being a bit aggressive with the questions, you're just the only person from the Fanatec community who replied to me

      @@VladInc no problem. If you have a club sport wheel base then your good to go! I do love this wheel even now as I used an SRM adapter to make it work on my direct drive. Yes the bmw came with a club sport quick release.

    I agree about the color. I bought the universal hub and the pic on their website showed a green color. I was a little disappointed when mine showed up with a black quick release.

    • @2ndLastJedi
      @2ndLastJedi 6 років тому

      The green comes with the xbox hub ! Did you pay the $499 aud recently or did you get it for $299 a while ago . I got mind about 18 months ago when they were moving to xbox hubs and they have black QR's and now they are green . Also was it already built or was it in pieces and you put it together yourself ?

    • @momorious
      @momorious 6 років тому

      What you are talking about was the old PC only Hub with the black QR but that Hub is no longer available and was replaced by the green Xbox Hub but they are black again since a few months after they upgraded the Xbox Hub to have different button Caps etc.
