James Miller ... Challenge accepted. You demonstrated your poor understanding of the show for decades by making your announcement. I noted that Johnny used the word "live" in the announcement, not even saying that Mr. Carlson's statement at the end would be utterly irrelevant to frozen turkeys. So, because you're an ignorant person, you are compelled to try to insult me for pointing out that the show premise couldn't include frozen turkeys. Every part of the bit, which is absurd fiction, indicated live turkeys. It takes a special kind of stupid to think otherwise. And there we have it. You continue to demonstrate a fact.

@mrt57rn That's my absolute favorite episode of Barney Miller! I was quite young when it aired & simply couldn't fathom why the fellas were behaving so oddly. My parent's hysterical laughter was equally baffling to me. When I finally saw a rerun years later, I laughed til my sides ached.
@mrt57rn Yes, that scene is right up there in the top as well.
Along with Jim taking his test on Taxi
You don't see the turkeys but you can imagine the holiday carnage! They should show this episode every year like A Christmas Story🤣😋
@@marvingreen3273 : "Slow Down...."
R,I,P, Howard. Dr. Johnny Fever. I'm watching the Turkey Drop episode to pay tribute to you. I will miss you. I was blessed to be a teenager in the 70s and saw WKRP when it was new.
Amen. We have the series on DVD and -- even though the rest of the cast was great -- I now realize just how much Howard Hesseman meant to the show.
Carlson uttered the 10 greatest words in television history. As God is my witness I thought turkeys could fly never has anything been funnier.
It's a shame this show didn't go longer than it did.
They were all great.
Agreed. My favorite episode is the one where Johnny Fever was drinking Jack Daniels to prove reflexes slow....but his got better with every drink. God I miss the '80's
a line from vaudeville: "always leave them wanting more!" WKRP...I can watch it forever, what a great show!!!
That was one of the funniest bits on that show! "As God as my witness.........I thought turkeys could fly." ROFLMAO!!!!🦃🦃🦃🦃
I remember watching this as a kid, when it first aired. I thought my dad was gonna have a heart attack, from laughing. They needed to rerun this every year, as a Thanksgiving special, even after the show ended. Classic TV moment, brilliantly-written.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. See you next year.
This should be played every Thanksgiving.
Yep, just like Alice's Restaurant was (is it still?) played on the radio .
RIP Johnny, a part of my youth gone.
This scene made me laugh so hard I could not breathe! I still have the same reaction 40 years later! Priceless!😂
I was born in ‘82, but I loved watching reruns of this as a kid and I revisit this episode at Thanksgiving. It’s never not funny.
Hands down, this is the funniest four minutes on television
Well, Tim Conway breaking everyone up while (almost) deadpanning an absurd story about elephants is a sure-fire giggle for me, but this scene is way up there to be sure.
Anything with Tim Conway and Harvey Corman is absolutely more hilarious.
RIP Howard. Thanks for the laughs!!!!!
The greatest TV moment ever….completely original…
They’ll NEVER make television like this again
It's Canadian Thanksgiving 2023!
The Turkey Drop, never gets old!
Truly a Thanksgiving classic!
💞🥳😳🤣😂🤣🦃
Just finished watching it, and laughed so hard the cat took off running!
@@lesleypatterson466
I can believe that!
Bwahahah 🤣🙀
WKRP is still one of the funniest sitcoms ever, but that's just my humble opinion!
Glad you liked it too!
🚁🦃🗯🙀
"Oh my god, THEY'RE TURKEYS!"
Good god that was a great show I’m still laughing
As I came across your comment Les said it. Perfect timing
THE greatest scene in TV sitcom history.
As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could FLY!
Wild turkeys CAN fly. 😅
I think wild turkeys can fly at low levels for short distances. Domestic turkeys probably cannot fly so good or not at all.
This and Reverend Jim's "what does a yellow light mean" are masterpieces!
Indeed!
OMG yea when he was taking his driving test. They don't make tv like that anymore.
@@red2977 nope!
Don't forget Jim describing the contents of laka's cookies with coco leaves. "'72.... Before the rains.". Hahaha classic. Like this krp episode.
Slow Down!
I remember watching us for the very first time when it was on TV and we were rolling around on the floor laughing so hard… Oh the humanity
I member watching this with mom and dad and all of us laughing like hell. What a great show that needed and DESERVED at least 2 more years.
always thought this was the best WKRP ever done
And the competition for that award is steep.
without a DOUBT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Impossible to top this.
Where’s your Tree Doug ?
This never gets old...
What a classic!
I was a fan of WKRP, and this skit had me in stitches.
I’m watching this too. The episode is one of my. favorites of WKRP. It’s hysterical! When he said that he thought turkeys could fly, I laughed so hard. I loved WKRP and I’m glad that UA-cam found this episode.
James Miller ... Even though the studio audience was laughing during Johnny's announcement, it's clear that he says "live turkeys".
James Miller ... You've demonstrated a fact.
Here it is 2024, and this scene never gets old.
I miss this show. What a stellar cast, great dialogue, hilarious situations. A gem of a TV show.
I was dying when I first saw this when it first aired. Les doing his monologue like the Hindenberg disaster. "Sacks of wet cement" 🤣😂🤣🤣😂😂😂
Such a classic episode, and to think so many kids have never seen this yet. This is one of those that if you grew up during that era this one stays in your memory forever, because of the ending line, "As God as my witness, I thought turkey's could fly" 🤣🤣🤣 Who ever wrote that is a genius! As a matter of fact I quoted it at Thanksgiving dinner the other day.
A true TV classic! Absolutely brilliant.
I see this every year ! I still laugh like it's the first time I've seen it I saw the original airing and I don't think my entire family stopped laughing through the entire episode.
This is an unbelievably funny show!! Love it many years later.
It has been damn near 50 years (man I'm old), but watching this for the first time is still the funniest thing I have ever experienced...still.
I remember when this aired. My mother laughed until she cried.
They don’t make amazing television shows like this anymore. Not even close.
They gave up on trying many years ago.
Needs talent and effort that's way to hARD ..it's easyer to get some pregnant 15year old on a reality show make em rich and famous for making stupid decisions screwing up there life. Or telling kids bullying is wrong but every tv show is based on bullying making alliances, back stabbing, lying and if you don't have money your worthless and weak fuck true love having someone in your life that would die for you its bullshit go for the money. Tv shows used to be about teaching people there are things in life that aren't very nice ,now those things that aren't very nice are what tv shows are based on? Nothing better than someone on tv that's just a fucking mess.
I'm sure somebody out there is offended lol
The woke crowd is too afraid of committing dogmatic heresies against the cult of SJW to be innovative and funny.

One of the best ensembled cast in television history. The writers gave us so many great episodes starting in 1978 ending in 1982. Thanks for the memories. Las Vegas, NV 12/8/2021
"OH the humanity!"
The "sacks ofvwet cement," is so brilliant. Almost no one has ever seen a sack of wet cement, especially one hitting the pavement from 2000 feet up, but it's for some reason something almost anybody can visialize...
