I really like the 5 year planner.
I am SOOOOO excited about it, both to use it and to reflect back with it.
I love my 5yr Journal. I bought the A6 to start in 2022 and I am in my second year and it is so interesting to look back on last year, where we were, what the weather was, etc. I only use pen in mine (different pen and ink combination every month that I keep track of in the back) so it hasn’t billed up significantly. I love my 5yr journal so much!
Amazing! Yeah I plan to keep it to pen, no stickers and washi, but I think it would be cool to have a little photo of places we live over the next 5 years...but maybe that should be a thing I keep to my cousin. Your channel is where I first heard about their 5 year planer, so thank you once again for being my inspiration. I am really excited about this journey.
I always enjoy looking back over the past years to see how much I’ve grown hopefully. Did I meet my goals that I set out to try to accomplish? And just remember some of the special moments from the past. I love the 5 year journal.

SAME! I didn't think I would ever leave my Happy Planner behind, but the paper in the hobonichi is just too good with the specialty inks I use. What is your favourite pen brand so far?
@@BooknBroom I love Esterbrook. That my favorite pen to use. However, I have a LAMY Safari, two TWSBIs, a BENU, and a Retro 51. What is your favorite pen brand currently?
@@asexualatheist3504 I don't think I could pick between a Lamy and a Benu at this point. Both are beautiful and such smooth writers. I have tried a bunch of brands now.

I love watching you open your hauls. Your excitement is contagious. I know what you mean after receiving a fabulous fountain pen as a special gift I can't go back to a ball point pen. Thank you for sharing your goodies.
So true! I can't give up my fountain pens at this point. I was always looking for a ball point pen that would be easy to use but not hurt to write with for more then 10 minutes, and could never find it. Now that I have found this world of beautiful writing instruments, I am hooked! I can write for hours and it's so comfortable.
I completed my first 5 years journal in 2022. Started a second one this year. A sentence or two written per day. I love it very much.

I love hobonichi. And also going through my 5 years-planner. Starting now the 2nd and now it is becoming more fun when you can look 1 year back every day. Really worthy and perfect to create a journaling habit.
Oh thank you so much for taking the time to tell me this. That is exactly what I am excited for. This year is starting it out, but the following years I will be able to look back and remember what was important to me on this day, what my plans and goals were and know what I actually did. It sounds SO FUN!! Like a daily time capsule!

I use the weeks for meals, my health, and my cat’s health.
That makes perfect scene, it's just the right size for that.
Trust me, you're going to love your 5 year techo. I got mine in 2020, as it was supposed to be a memorable year (and it was, just not for the reason I thought). I absolutely love it. And it's more fun the second year because you can now begin to look back. The hardest thing for me is to shorten my day's entry to make it fit. But then again, that's what my regular journal is for. And yes, I do find myself getting lost in past journal entries when I start reading them. Next year is going to be my 5th year in the journal, and it's especially important because in 2024 i turn 50! What a cool way to document the half century mark!
Oh that's amazing!! That is exactly what I was hoping it to feel like. I small bite to remember the day by and to see how life and plans change over time. Like a time capsule that I get to explore and add to ever year!

We bought the exact same planners for 2024 (Weeks, Cousin Avec and 5 Year). This is my first year using all Hobonichi. Very excited! The reason I bought the Cousin in 2 books is becuase I have a 2 week trip to Japan in August and I want to take it with me to journal my trip while still traveling as light as possible. That is awesome! I started using the Hobonichi the second half of this year and I really do swear by it, especially if you use fountain pens! The paper is amazing. I haven't started my 5 year planner yet, but we just bought our first home this month, so I am looking forward to tracking all the joys and downfalls of being a first time home owner.

Oh the avec idea is smart for the refresh. I used happy planner for the last 4 years but i really wanted the hobonichi cousin this year. I was so new i didnt know it had a split book 😅
Oh same! I was a dedicated Happy Planner girl for AGES! I still really like their planners, but I started getting really into fountain pens, and their paper just does not do the wonderful inks justice, so I switched.
I am loving using my HP stickers in my Hobonichi planner though. I have a few shorts showing my spreads on TikTok and Instagram if you are curious how I am using them.

I am finishing up the 4th year of my first Hobonichi 5 year journal. It is amazing to read about my family journey over that time, including both ups and downs. I find it interesting to see what we did on the exact same date several years earlier and I often read it to my spouse. I use only fountain pen in mine. I will always do a 5 year journal- I love it!

Great video. I am reconsidering the original A6 and thinking of going for the Avec. I know what you mean by starting new and I am also transitioning from a Happy Planner. Also if I go with the Avec I can order right away and I wont have to wait until November. Much to think about!
Part of me is seriously considering getting a few more things and getting the A6 hon because I have seen the size comparison now and it is freaking ADORABLE!!!
Down side?
It's a high price point to get the free shipping from the site, and it is equally high to get all the goodies I am thinking about from an Amarican retailer. So yes, also much to think about.
I am so glad you enjoyed the video. I was worried that taking a full day to edit it would hurt it's performance as I was already a week late to the game in getting my package, but I am glad I took the time to make it easy to follow.
Fountain pens sound like a trap. Get a new pen, now you need all the inks, get ink now you need special paper to get the most out of said inks, now upgrade your planners for the inks. Is it worth it?
For the pleasure it brings alone it is MORE than worth it. The fact that I can write for hours with out any pain makes it all the more so. There is an initial expense to get into this hobby, but I think I am at a point where I have enough pens, inks and paper, to get me through...well at least the first half of 2024...lol
I have a lot of unboxings still on their way though, so no shortage of content on this topic to last a while as well.
