Is a 4.5 hour full vid on sparklz channel. So you could imagine it getting cut to make him look good for just 20 minutes. But I watched the full vod and nah, even then it showed him being surprisingly good the entire damn time
He playeds racing games before and is a big fan like you said, honestly a LOT of trackmania is understanding racing lines and then its just learning the phyiscs of each road. Im also impressed at how fast he improved and kinda wanna see him do more of it
i can tell you from many years of racing game experience, (as well as also being a car person) there is most certainly an overlap of skill and intuition, especially where drifts/speedslides are concerned.
@@DuncanGDA Even then, in 4.5 hours he is better than some people get at the game with months or even a year of practice, it's insane how much feeling he has for the game
Also he said he was watching trackmania videos before hand. Not that it takes away from his clearly natural skill, but to atleast know how the game works going into it is a big help.
Captainsparklez was my favorite youtuber as a little kid back in 2013, I've always kept an eye on what he's up to. I hope he does more TM because that's what I'm more into now. So cool to see you collaborate.
As someone who is a car guy and started playing TM when it first released in 08 I can attest that the skills do not transfer in any way shape or form. TM physics are just weird. This guy is just a natural.
Those Minecraft hardcore parkour perseverance and on-the-fly learning skills coming in hella clutch ;D That was amazing to see- I know it’s still content, but ey, thanks for sharing the experience (and Ty editors for doin’ it justice 💙)
Can we have more of the CaptainSparkles/Wirtual duo? Would love to see Wirtual just slowly gather an Avengers team of non-TM UA-camrs to take on COTD or shortcut hunting...
Very impressive how fast he learned and how natural it all came to him. And the ice control was mind blowing for a beginner!! Looking at him I was so bad at learning these techniques. Much cudos to CptSparklez
literally a collab that i in a million years would not have expected... my childhood youtuber playing my childhood game trackmania with my current fav streamer wirtual
when I first started this game I had no idea how to play on ice and cba to look it up, so with enough trial and error I literally "discovered" ice sliding, but actually doing them was rough, this is insane
its basically the same strat except for the control with brake-tap and throttle. But no not even that, its really the same in Real cars / other games. So its not that special that he got that clean ice slides almost from the start.
@@Trep3 If you drift on ice, FULL THROTTLE and countersteering is the way to go, ofc! And Game? Well, I take Dirt Rallye 2.0 because its pretty real handling.
release the throttle in full countersteer-drift may cause the car to oversteer in RL, but thats the part he did not do by himself. Wirtual told him to do that, so thats nothing to change on my opinion. Braketap will maybe work to get a sharper turn but I'm not fully sure about that.
The speed slides are genuinely amazing, on the fullspeed map he literally got the mini speed slide in between the two jumps. Fucking madman, what does he eat
wrt 'kilometers per hour' -- in Aus we just say 'ks' (phonetically: 'kays'). E.g., "that guy on the freeway was so slow, he was doing like 20 ks under the speed limit."
Fall 2022 04 is such a beginner's joy to play Simple design, easy to focus on just the corners and landings, then when you nail everything you're rewarded with soaring through the air to the finish...
I cant believe you actually got Obama on the channel! Truly a historical achievement for trackmania that you got a former president of the US to play car game
The "I'm not rich I'm just responsible with my money, everyone could buy these things if they tried" guy with multiple expensive cars and a mansion....
Wirtual, it would be a coold video if you and another streamer taught each other a game for a stream, like u teach them trackmania but then they teach you whatever game they play. It would be like these kinds of videos but u each get to be the "pro" for a little :)
I had a couple of freinds try other racing games like the crew 2, and they were pretty disinterested. I then got them to play trackmania, every single one even if they didnt love the game always said the same thing. "DAMNIT I WAS ONLY HALF A SECOND FROM MY PB" it got them to play for another hour on a couple tracks until they got too pissed and left but they actually never seem to mind coming back everynow and then unlike the other games
I can believe the skill. I just booted up tm for the first time and in about 10 minutes i already did my first speed slide, though it wasnt too pretty.
I know the Captain is a car guy but it's genuinely impressive how good he is at the game just by instinct

So impressive how quickly Sparklez picked up on speed slides and ice, never seen such a natural before. Literal first day and two author medals???
Dude, those speed slides were actually amazing lol
He carried over skill from being a good driver in real life and in other racing games
He is the car guy
I watched the vid and iirc he actually got around 4-5 author medals
Also he said he was watching trackmania videos before hand. Not that it takes away from his clearly natural skill, but to atleast know how the game works going into it is a big help.
Honestly I'm loving this "Wirtual teaches UA-camrs Trackmania" content, it's great

Same, though I have to ask do you think he sounds different? I remember his voice a little differently.

it looked like Wirt had a genuine 'they grow up so fast'-moment during the ice sliding
When he started ice-sliding i thought "oh it probably just cut to after Wirtual told him what to do", but no, my guy just did it himself.
The collab we didn't know we needed, so wholesome!!

15:03 was such a clean run for someone whose playtime is less than two hours. That was pretty magnificent!
Haha, I was laughing and smiling through all of the video, but Sparklez' shoutout to Buckley almost broke me! xD
Dude what the hell, he's a natural. He's got a great attitude too.
So nice for Wirtual to teach a smaller youtuber
To be fair Wirtual has more views on average than Sparkles in more recent vids, subscriber wise it’s very different ofc
@@Stowoney it’s a joke
Never stop adding “bonks” to the videos, Buckley. I love them.
This is a first bro. never in the universe would I ever see the old generation and new generation of youtube ever in trackmania.

My man ice slid better on his first blind try of the surface than I do after playing for a year and a half.
Pulling a sparkel: to do speed strats without realizing.
6:30 I love how he repeated "another one" and got dead silence in response. Wirtual clearly didn't know the song lol
I hope cap falls in love with this game. I really wanna see him play more on his own channel

childhood hero plays with modern day fave was not ever expecting this
The chat having a long debate over Norway as Scandinavian was an entertaining sidestory
I really hope Sparklez starts up some regular TM content
If CaptainSparklez were to diversify, Trackmania would be a good start.
So glad wirtual is taking the time to collab with smaller youtubers
All these collabs are so good
I love how Cap just laughs hysterically every time he crashes. so wholesome
the crossover I wasn't expecting but am fully enjoying. I expect the Capt to get an invite to the next event you do hahaa

Simpleflips next? He recently picked up the game
Joh perfect timing on the video. I just started with TM yesterday evening.
