Setting New Year's goals has always been something I looked forward to but I usually fail within the first month to keep up with my goals or I just simply forget what they were in the first place.
Now that I am a small business owner and mother to an active toddler, goals are something that I cannot afford to lose track of. In this video, I will be sharing how I set my goals and break them down to actionable items. I admit I am using quiet a few planners but this is what suits my life right now and I need them to collect, filter and organize my thoughts in a cohesive way.

This was definitely both useful and entertaining. I've been struggling with many of the same things you mention, and trying to figure out how to get myself on a clearer path with all different endeavours I'm trying to make reality instead of just big wishes, ideas and plan-like pipedreams. Thank you for sharing your practice, I got a lot of help, and also am starting to except the multiple notebook and planner system that kind of forces itself on the surface in my mind, and I've been fighting it with varying results. Sorry for this long message, but I really got a lot from this. Love all your videos , thank you for them all. I hope you've been able to get that one day off in your week 💓⚘👋

Thank you so much. I have been struggling with moving goals to action too. In my mind I know that I just need to break it down but without writing it down on paper and plan everything out in detail I just noticed that I would get overwhelmed and have trouble figuring out where to start. Ergg I was getting a day off but lately it’s been impossible!

That sounds so familiar! Thank you so much for your respond, and let's keep filling those notebooks, they are way more worth than their weight in gold 💓🔥

    Hello Catherine,
    This video was so informative.😊
it give me insights to why I hesitate to use my planner. I bought this beautiful
6 in 1 planner in 2017. And for the same reasons as the planner was so "clean" that i never wanted to mess it up i really didn't use it at all. Putting in the information on the planner as completed when it wasn't really overwhelmed the process.
I think after watching this I may need 2 brainstorming planners because my mind is
world on its own gets clounded with thoughts quickly and I need to map out the process in detail.
I can't use a weekly planner because just writing the (task) with no explanation means that my brain still has the information stuck and floating around and needs to be processed 😪.
Right now I have 2 planners one for brainstorming the other for planning.
I really didn't like the idea of putting everything in 1 but i didn't want to feel judged.
Now I know how to use 4 planners 😌
    I really ❤ your process.

purplediamondz thank you so much for this. I wasn’t sure how people would react to my miltiplanner system. But yes I completely agree. My brain is a storm of multiple things coming at me all at once. Having a collect, filter and organize system helped me to feel not so overwhelmed. And yayyy someone gets the “clean planner” anxiety hahah. Thank you so much for your comment, I really appreciate it.

You put it perfectly "my brain is a storm of multiple things coming at me at once" Glad im not the only one.
I stopped planning 3 years ago now and my life turned to choas got extremely overwhelmed with life.😭
I met a therapist and she made me seem like I was crazy i used to plan 2x a day in morning and night . She gave me a whole 30 mins lecture telling me how I am wasting my life away.
So I stopped planning and Journaling. Journaling been doing for years.
It was just last week that I came to the conclusion that both Journalling and planning are important factors in my life.
These are the reasons i saw massive changes in my life and able to make progress.
I couldn't understand why my life was failing apart i did everything discipline productivity books etc
but who knew the Simple act of writing created structure and change in my life.😊

@@purplediamondify Wow I can completely relate to this. I have always used a planner but only used a simple weekly to write down a million to dos but I was always confined to a tiny box. But I had a pretty good memory so I would just juggle everything in my head. When I was pregnant with my son (first kid), because I knew I would be responsible for another human being, I wanted to be more organized and have a system in place as a back up for my brain so that's when I started putting everything down on paper. Ever since this, I was able to juggle even more things, be more creative, and felt like I had unlimited power. All of this was because I had freed up my brain to do more instead of just trying to remember every little task and idea. Pen and paper give us immense power if used correctly :)

I agree with the other comment that the anxiety around making a permanent mistake on a planner is one of the reasons I leave it in my head rather than changing my system to get it out of my head. I'm gonna reflect on this. Thanks for sharing!
Also, sounds like you're juggling a lot -- hope you remember to take care of yourself!

Thank you so much for your comments. I completely agree. I am so glad you guys are relating to my "clean planner" struggles. I feel so much better now. I know it is a little extra to have a few additional planners but if that could make me feel more comfortable sketching things out and have everything filtered and cleaned out before moving them to my daily planner, I think it's all worth it because the "final" plan would be more thought out? But I guess it also depends on the person, because everyone's lives are a little different. And also thank you for reminding me to take care of myself. I think I will start scheduling one day off to "chill" if that's even possible with a toddler haha.

@@SterlingInk haha yes, that sounds like a wonderful way to rest!
I completely agree - whichever system works for you to get it out of your head and onto paper into clearly visible tasks/notes, I think it's worth the initial investment. I can imagine that took a lot of trial and error, so I appreciate that you're sharing this.
I in turn am trying something new - to use my current Weeks as more of a jot down/brain dump and to use the weekly section of my Cousin as the more "finalized" schedule for the week. Excited to try it and see how it goes.
Do take care! Love your content 🙂
