Hey David, ure a legend.U have written history with your videos. So much knowlegde about the countries, the cultures. Thanks to u when can see the world and all those beautiful cultures.
Very interesting to see this part of Guyana. A lot of information. The worms, let just say you are a brave man😁. Lemongrass tea is one of my favorite, when I visit my mom bk home in Trinidad. Thank you for sharing ❤
I was there two weeks ago for the cricket finals. I tried the worms, but they were roasted. lol Also had the different wines. Those were good. It was Amerindian Heritage month. Guyana is nice once you get out of the city.
The drink making ..cane juice extraction was really new to me...and the raw worms...I couldn't maybe if I had to like you.. It was really interesting seeing the various cultures of Guyana...the foods crafts the way the people live. As always I enjoyed this video... Looking to the others...Thanks David and safe travels.
Cassava sure , Juices oh yes. Cool device to get the sugar cane out. get that RAWRR in those arms lol. Now I will just keep my head in the drinks as you can eat that whole log of worms!!!! Im adventurous but nope to the nope I dont care what way you eat them. You defo manned up on this one LOL. Would love the village . Love the crafts would take some home myself. Dinner, barbecued chicken, boiled and fried breadfruit, tasso, farine. Looks delicious . Adventurous day for sure :)
At 12:40: actually, they are grubs. They will become beetles if allowed to finish this stage of their life cycle. I am familiar with them from way back (40+ years, LOL) but never ate them. There is also a smaller version that is found in fallen /old cookreet seeds that we used as bait for fishing. Also, I remember a similar cane juicer that my dad had in the front yard "camp" open-air thatched "building". Planted half an acre of sugar cane just for home use. LOL. Long time ago.
Hi DAVID!!!!😍I just watched the video and as usual it was awesome!!!!!I think they work very hard in Guyana, it takes a long time to make alot of there dishes very complex!!!!!I'd love to try the beverages they looked great especially theFly drink!I have to say you 2 are very courageous to eat the worms Omg they were so PLUMP!!!!!I totally enjoyed the video and Stacey is just a Doll!!!!Great job !!!Love you always!!And I think Guyana is just BEAUTIFUL!!!!!❤👍😍🤗💙😘💕🥰🤩♠️♠️
The nutritional content of the jungle based cuisine is ridiculously high compared to “normal” crop based cuisines. Their food has zero microplastics (found in all Western diets) and receives nutrients directly from natural soil (instead of synthetic fertilizer). That entire region should be turned into a nature preserve because humanity will need it for the biodiversity in the future.
@David your facial reactions reminded me of Simba from the Lion king! When Timon and, Pumba made him try bugs for the first time when he was hungry! Slimy yet satisfying. But your braver then I could NEVER lol!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Never heard about those worms!!! I know the Chinese do this with the round head of cheese which they bury in the ground, then take out. My Grandmother told us this, she was half Chinese. Same idea I guess. Some people look at oysters and say the same. So to each his own culture.
Lovely setting where you are. How would you compare the heat in Guyana to Miami? All the drinks sound healthy and delicious also would be curious to try them myself. Loved the whole video!!! ❤️
David did a fab job showcasing Guyana. Another guy who like to travel on shoestring budget said Guyana is one of the worst countries he visited so great David is doing the right way. Guyanese are generous people. seen this worm. Is ube in Guyana?
@davidsbeenhere love your videos and vibes but I must say you hold up your end man by eating the live Tacoma worm be safe and continue them awesome video I’m Guyanese living in Florida🙌
Yoooooo S/O region 9 my original home. I needa go back bruh. We ran out of our stock of farine at home in Australia here. This video really captures the richness of the land, the people and the food. Awesome
Hello David, just wanted to remind you, do you remember seeing the same kind of worms from palm tree in Ghana, but I don't remember if you tasted them, did you???. The only difference is they're not eaten raw in Ghana.
wow worms might be crazy for me but I ll try the fried version and that the creek water has benefits for your body is amazing to hear!! would love to stay at that guest house!!
well i know for sure that david's really been there, because he had the raw tacoma worm (ewoo) in the local language,Stacy did not mention that the reason for salting and sun drying the beef is not part of the cooking method, but rather the preservation method of the meat, electricity is/was not common in the hinterland areas,so the locals had to salt and preserve their meats.
I just door dashed a 3 Large Pizza Deal and now I want a Bush tucker meal! 🤤🦗🐛🐜 I normally order edible bug snacks online as I live In Australia, so Ant salt, crunchy spicy crickets etc. 😋
most bugs contain chitin....that will give you allergies and diseases.....✌ we want more of david been here video so be carefull whit bugs plz 🤘thanks again for showing us so many food and culture
Jean Francois Roy,: I worry about the same thing especially when people eat the bugs raw. I still worry even if they are cooked because I have never seen people clean them first. That is definitely NOT for me. I couldn't even look that I fast-forwarded past that part of the video. 🇹🇹🇨🇦
Good morning David. Thank God you work out and keep in shape. That was quite a workout squeezing the cane. Now as far as the food is concerned, when we can't stomach something we say "oh gaad, not me," to you eating the worms. My Trini friends will know that expression. I had to skip over that part of the video but you know what was funny, UA-cam froze with the picture of the guide with the worm in his mouth 🤣🤣🤣. As for the drinks, they are as natural as they come and if you wanted to raise the alcohol level, just grate a regular potato and put the juice in it. My brother used to do that with rum punch. We had Tasso in Trinidad, it's similar to North American beef jerky, the farine too we used to make porridge, and the dessert is similar to cassava pone. So you see you can see the influence of food in the region that you can find things that are similar but different. Now think hard about what I mean and figure it out. So David, I am happy to see that things went well so far, but I am NOT eating those worms. I love the earrings you bought for your daughters but I thought you were going to buy the vase because that was pretty. What happened yesterday? We were all looking for the 'live'. We missed you and the gang. Yesterday was Ingrid Bee's birthday as well. Anyway, we all know how busy you are these days. Once again, congratulations on your success. Like you and I say, "onwards and upwards". You and your team deserve all the kudos. Stay well, stay safe and may God bless you and your family.🕊️🙏🇹🇹🇨🇦
