Clear cases are a great way to protect your iPhone while still showing it’s design and colour. The problem is most clear cases is after some months they start to loose clarity and become discoloured. This is where Apple’s clear case comes in. A MagSafe compatible, high quality clear case that should retain is clarity and not discolour over time, but is does come at a price. The question is, is it worth it? Apple clear is available for iPhone 13 iPhone 13 pro and iPhone 13 and all previous iPhone 12 models. Priced at $49. Study feel in the hand. More rigid than any other clear case I’ve used. Not all plastic is made the same and this feels good quality. Stands out are these white elements. This circle and line house the MagSafe magnets. Allows to use MagSafe accessories with case on. Let’s put the case on the phone! See the MagSafe animation on screen. Snaps on tight, perfect snug fit as with all of Apple’s cases. Adds minimal bulk to the phone, thickness is similar to Apple’s other cases. Benefit of a clear case, see the phones design and colour. Being clear with pair well with any iPhone colour. White MagSafe ring contrasts nicely with the midnight iPhone. Good feel in the hand. Though do bear in mind, this case does not add any grip. Apple’s silicone case will be better is you are looking for grip. In terms of features the case offer raised edges by the screen and camera unit. Protects them from surface. Unlike Apple’s other cases the bottom is open. I do wish this was closed as this does leave this bottom part a bit of vulnerable to scratches but will also make the case easier to take on and off. Like the rest of the case the button are made of plastic. Compared to apple other cases and especially compared to not having a case they do require a bit more force to press. Finger prints will show, especially if you have a darker colour iPhone like I do, but can easily be wiped off. Cases biggest selling point is the fact that this will not discolour over time and thus sets itself apart from the average $10 clear case. Also having MagSafe compatibility built-in lets you use your chargers and wallet attachments. If you have used clear cases in the past and are bothered by the fact that they tend to loose their clarity over time, then I do think this case is worth it. Yes the price is steep but there is a level of quality that you get here that is hard to find anywhere else! This case protects your phone forms normal day to day wear while still letting you show its colour and design!

I love the glowing effect of clear case when the screen turned on and face down on a surface in a dark environment. The light of the screen will shine through the case and the glowing clear case just looks magical.

The reason why the bottom of the case is uncovered is due to material properties.
The clear case, while more protective, is also stiffer and more brittle than the silicone and leather case. If the bottom is covered, PC clear case is more likely to crack when removing and putting on the case. Not to mention given how hard the case is, it is much harder to remove the case from the phone.
Gotta hand it to Apple for their attention to such detail despite being overpriced.

I just got the blue jay silicone case for my blue 13 and it’s my favorite case I’ve ever had. I love the color of the phone and the case being so thin and the exact same color of the phone is perfect. The MagSafe compatibility is a plus too since I’ve recently started using some of the accessories

I have this clear case for my 13 mini in midnight color and I love it very much. I’m planning to buy a clear case for my Samsung S23 that is made by the same company that makes original iphone cases.
I watched your review with interest and mostly agree with your assessment. I had a similar style case when I had my iPhone XR (which I traded in for my iPhone 13 Pro), which I found awesome as i didn’t have to remove the case every time I needed access to my lightning port when I needed to place external mics into that port. Also, that case held up very well on many drops and throws. When I looked for a case for my new iPhone 13 Pro, I insisted that it had the bottom area open like my last one. The only one that did was the clear MageSafe case. I selected it immediately, and the magnet on the backside gives me more options too. That is all to say, it’s the perfect case for me as I create my own UA-cam videos with my DJI wireless mic setup. Also, it makes my sierra blue phone stand out sharply and the buttons are actually easier to press than the ones I had on my XR. My former XR case was an Apple case as well. We need a case to be available like this (an open-ended bottom). For creators, it’s of great benefit so we don’t have to remove our cases every time we make a video and expose our phones to damage from drops as well. Good job on this review! I’m very happy with both the 13 Pro and this style of case that covers it!

I just bought the Apple clear case for my iPhone 13 promax and I am super super satisfied with it and I think it’s worth going for it. I am not really that worried about the bottom overall I give it a 4.8 out of 10.

Great video showing the comparison for clear case I wonder if I buy from Amazon and mentions anti yellowing that means it won’t get color?
All cheap clear cases will yellow and discolour over time regardless of how they are advertised. I have had many over the years which stated ‘anti-yellowing’ etc, but none of them have remained clear. Even Spigen clear cases will discolour and I consider them to be a very good brand overall. If you want a permanently clear case I’m afraid that you will have to pay the Apple tax.

Hi, yes, that is a bit tricky. What I do is pushing the Iphone out via the camera module. You have to apply some force, take care not to touch the lenses of course

I do prefer a clear case. I just change my Spigen clear case one a year for $6. I usually trade in my phone after 2 years.

And trading one’s phone every 2 years seems like good ritme. if apple kept the bottom of this clear case closed it wouldve been very hard to take off of the phone in the event you'd wanna clean it. The hard plastic isnt as flexible as the silcone and leather apple cases

In my previous experiences of using apple clear cases, it’d usually leave my sweat on the back of it, particularly in summer. It’s kind sticky. So now I’ve become a leather case user. What about you ? Have that ever happened to you ?
Hi Yves, a bit late my reaction I realize but what you ask is a common question. The leather case has a better grip than the Apple clear cases, especially in humid and warm weather conditions

Got this case, the next day my phone slipped out of my pocket, and fell about 1 feet, the phone is ok but the bottom corner of the case is cracked, I’ve dropped other cheaper silicon phone cases but they never crack like this, is this because the case absorbed all the impact or just that it’s hard plastic?

I just bought one because the box said "Clear Case". I didn't notice it said "MagSafe". When i got home i found out it has a disgusting looking ring which ruins the look of my new phone 😡. It's almost impossible to remove. Such a stubborn design.
