The Crushers lead the league in World Series Championships with 3. The problem? They have not won since 2019. Their hall-of-fame captain, Caden Sartain, hasn't played at an MVP level as of late, and they haven't been able to construct a well-rounded team for years. They look to end the drought after taking Cooper Carley as the #1 pick. In the last two years of Como Blitzball, the team with the #1 pick in the draft ended up winning the World Series that same year. Can the Crushers make it three years in a row? The road doesn't start easy as they play the defending champs of 2023.
The Riptides are coming off an impressive campaign in 2023, capping it off with a World Series win. But this year it's a whole new challenge. They lost their best player, the #2 ranked player in all of Blitzball in Trent Severino. He started his own Blitzball franchise with the Vipers, and the Riptides have to look to someone else to lead them to victory. It looks promising as they take Reece Clapp as the #2 pick, who used to be one of the best players in Blitzball until he retired and finally came back. A lot of pressure lies on the captain now, today starts a new story with Hudson Borgmeyer's team in 2024.
