He was in a group called Zoot and this is his first song since going solo. It reached in the top 10 in Australia.

Part of the K-Tel album "Believe In Music" album, which also introduced 11 year old me to Bulldog, Looking Glass, Mouth & MacNeil, Gallery, and the Five Man Electrical Band.

The unpolished original recording of this song, almost sounding like a demo. It was sweetened up quite a bit and released in America in 1972 to become one of the best pop songs of that year.

I’ve heard a lot worse debut songs than this! It’s okay but not great. He got much better later on but you have to start somewhere. At least it’s not embarrassingly bad.
    Thanks!

You know how some songs sound better to you as you as you get older? Yeah, this is not one of those songs. Truly awful Christian pop, as bad as it gets.

You know how some UA-cam contributors sound more impressive as they mature and become seasoned with knowledge & humility? Yeah, this is not one of those contributors. Truly awful perspective, as bad as it gets.

Rather unremarkable song, but "Christian pop" got even worse than this. There was even "Christian Metal" later on, which was truly horrific.
