Church leaders work is to sent gospel massage to believers in Christ.
But not a decision makers or to control/force people if so then what is the point of electing MLA to run a government in state.
Is NBCC ready to accommodate one lakhs plus unemployment youth's in Nagaland to sustain livehood if revenue is not a matter of days.
Those were the days when people were less educated but as of now we are living in digital world even a primary students know what to do and what not to do.
So educating today's youth is next to impossible game.
Christian country in the advance world still exists with the flow of Liquor and remember in Nagaland Christianity comes only from American missionaries.
Religious and self faith is between man and God, no body has authority when we talk about believers.
    It's between individual and God.

Christian life calls for an community living and not individualistic faith, being concerned for them is to intervene in their lives if necessary, on the basis of individual freedom allowing people to destroy themselves would be an utter failure of one's calling.
You say even teenagers knows what to do and what not, so why are the young and the old ones alike doing which is abhored by the state? See digital world or not, we cannot deny that this state of ours still lacks in self control, where liquor can be easily misused to bring destruction to the state. Bringing Americans history is but a futile comparison, different context demands different means. Maybe in the long run, it might call for a legalisation but that reality is not now.

We are looking at the issue from a wrong angle. The government of the day is expecting the church to accept and normalize alcohol consumption, we all know and understand that whether the church accept the failure of the Act or not they will never say yes to alcohol. So we should be asking the government why are they passing on the buck to CSOs and church. The government is formed with public mandate to listen to the majority public and act. This style of outsourcing governance has to stop.

This issue should be debated.. It should not be like a pastor preaching on the pulpit and the congregation silently listening… Both the pros and cons should be discussed..

Faith is voluntary, so let the congregation win over temptation and sin via guidance and inspiration from the clergy and church leadership, not via forcefully pushing government to implement the act or regulation. Request the church leadership not to mix faith movement with government and politics. Because no act or regulation is foolproof, as the saying goes rules are made to be broken.

The NLTP Act has been a hotly debated topic of discussion over the years and the chorus tilts largely towards lifting of the act. Once again the ongoing debate begs the question - Is it time to lift the NLTP Act?
The issue has been thoroughly deliberated so much that a voting may even be applied to decide whether to lift or enforce the Act. Easier said than done, the situation rather creates a moral dilemma - to lift or not to lift?
If the Act is to be lifted (there is no question of partial lifting), then, is the State ready with the various modalities starting from licensing and regulation? Otherwise, if the Act is to be stringently enforced, then, is the state ready with the new mechanisms required to keep a total check by coming out with a zero tolerance policy?
Either way, the state and the people are not ready, nor have we really studied and analyzed the long-term consequences beyond the immediate economic and religious considerations which have been the dominant themes in the debate on the NLTP Act.
Supposing that a final review of the NLTP Act is to be undertaken, then, to even come to the table first and foremost requires a thorough change in our mindsets, our mentality. Looking at the Naga context, we have come a long way from the narrative of having emerged from longtrok; from bowel of the earth; from cave etc. and we have been Christians for more than 150 years now, and that, we are a society trying to come together and moving towards civility and civilized.
However, as things stand to attest, in general, considering the fact that we are pretty much clothed, yet while clothed we simply display our nakedness. We need to first come out of our nakedness to sincerely deliberate about the NLTP Act and come to as logical conclusion.
Whatever the conclusion maybe, the people should be ready to be civilized and act responsibly. So long as people are civilized and act responsibly without being ‘violators’ any situation will fall in place under a normalized condition.
For now, even though the public may say that the time is high to lift the NLTP Act, the State is not ready either way, nor is the general public. The mind is in need of a metamorphosis or transmutation. However, that is a very difficult proposition and the moral dilemma will remain at a threshold between lifting and enforcing.

While there is huge loss of revenue due to the Act, the prospect of incurring a stupendously huge expenditure in order to enforce the Act would be pure foolishness. It will only lead us to bankruptcy and mayhem. In fact our corrupt and poor govt will never be able to provide sufficient funds to effectively enforce the Act. It's high time our insincere and irresponsible govt should come up with a realistic and comprehensive assessment of the financial implications and all the factors involved for enforcing such an Act as this. Then only we can discuss whether to keep it or lift it. In my opinion it is quite futile to try to implement it. Even highly civilised and rich societies have not succeeded. So a pseudo civilised and immature society like ours should not even dream to succeed where they have failed. Even a dictatorial regime will not success unless cruel and brutal tactics are employed which will only prove to be a greater menace than alcoholism itself. whatever the moralistic and unrealistic proponents of NLTP Act may say, the reality is that we are not living in some evil free Utopia. It's a part of God's plan that we co- exist with the evil as long as we live in this mortal and imperfect world. It's upto the individual to decide according to one's own learnings and wisdom whether to choose the good over the evil. Alcoholism is one such inevitable evil, although not necessarily a crime, that has existed since the day God gave mankind the ability to harness the nature. So alcoholism will remain in our society with or without the NLTP Act. We only need to be broad minded enough to live with it the best way that we can. Enactment of this artificial Law and hiding behind it is nothing but a stupid and cowardly reaction only. The evil and adverse side effects of this Act is also a very serious issue as everyone knows. Although ours is a highly church centric society, it must be said that It's also quite stupid and shameful that we have been sitting over this useless Law all these years while it has been silently eating away at our innards like some cancerous disease.

In my point of view Govt. should give full power to NBCC n other NGOs who go against this act for a few months or year to control every pocket around Dimapur that is available now because the administration failed to implement it. They only against but mineral water shops where alcohol is available everywhere corner no one complains against these shops . I don't understand what policy is this those who always go against the Act.😢 gv them power and let them go to the ground and also gv them counseling. It's a request to medias to interview and question the concerned department and legal authorities why they have failed to implement the act.
Churches and civil societies can only appeal, pressurize and create awareness. They can't do anything beyond that.
It's hypocrisy on the part of people to complain when civil society tries to raise voice against immoral issues, and at the same time asking them if they have failed when things go beyond control. Please question the government.

NLTP act is an excuse not a regulation, it is a means to wealth for enforcement agencies of both popular and parallel governments, coz every agency becomes a part of unholy syndicate via percentage and fine. As long the NLTP act exists, will it profit the syndicate, unholy nexus or the believers, clergy and NBCC? Lastly i believe the church is doing its job to spread good news/ gospel, to win souls, so why push the government to eliminate the act of sinning, since free will exists/was given to choose salvation or sin.

I m not a regular user of wine or alcohol but this NLTP act has no meaning . As a religious leader or the head of NBCC he may not agree upon the lifting of the act . So many of the Naga public who are in lookout for fast easy money usually open Foods restaurant but actual purposes is to sell the liquor at high prices. Within few months the business flourishes and the earning becomes so high , where the owners started to pay ten tithes even offering on regular basis. The churches enjoyed such huge income from business community . There's no way of lifting the NLTP act. It must remained as it is. If not no flows of huge money from such business wala & Sala.

It's the duty of Govt to implement the act effectively and penalize the defaulters.
NBCC is a part of civil society which forms a pressure group, and they have no enforcement authority.
      Learn such basic knowledge.

  • @nobodycares3953
    @nobodycares3953 Рік тому +10

To all those accusing NBCC for the failure of NLTP.. please have this basic understanding that NBCC is a part of civil society and do not possess enforcement authority. It's the duty of Govt to implement the act effectively and penalize the defaulters.
Also to those saying NBCC should confine itself to church and stop mixing faith and govt, remember that Church is a moral conscience of society. Just as it's the duty of police to arrest criminals, it's the God given authority of Church to rebuke evils and immoralities in society. Church is not building, church is individual. People are the church where spirit lives.
Whether Society or govt will pay heed to Church's appeal that's different matter, but to say that Church should remain silent all together and let powers and principalities rule over right before it's nose is totally Unbiblical perspective on the part of Christians.
A reasonable suggestion here would be to pressure govt to implement the act properly atleast once and see if it works. Because Govt have never even tried to implement it ever since it's enactment. Just seizing liquors from trucks and shops is not implementation. How many liquor bars should be permitted in a town or district, what should be the minimum age of consumers to which liquor can be sold, what kind of wine should be sold, whether limited alcohol factory can be set up for generation of revenue within the state, these are some of the issues that can be considered if at all implementation is effected.
Kushi Kushi hotai NBCC khan k criticize kuri thakile kut hobo.
