Just started doing park my first park run on January 1st 2024 and have been hooked since!! I have been using both ASICS Superblast & Nike Zoom Fly 4 so far but will definitely looking at some of these going forward.
67 year old here and the best shoes I've had for 'trail' (grass) parkrun's over the past few years have been Inov8 Parkclaw 260. I think they may be discontinued now but I bought a few pair at the time as they were so good for me. I also have a pair of Parkclaw G280 which I've still to try. The Inov8's hardly get any recognition from UA-cam reviewers which is a shame. The 260's also cope with short tarmac sections. The Parkclaw have given me faster parkrun times than any other shoe I've tried in my 60's.
Getting some Deviate Nitro 2 shoes for my birthday. They'll be perfect for some tempo runs and even racing as I'm not really at a level where I think I want to start buying super shoes. I've always sworn by Asics and have some GT-2000s but these Puma reviews have really turned my head
Cheers for this video. I tend to find a lot of recommendation videos concentrate on shoes good for marathons, and this year I’ll be happy with competing Park Runs and maybe a couple of 10ks if my injury recovery goes well.
I’m using puma deviate nitro elite 2 at the moment, work really well on not so perfect twisty paths, with mud leaves and a few puddles , can’t beat puma grip! 🙂
Nice video Fordy. Takumi 8 is a bargain for under £85 right now, and despite not owning it, Puma DN 2 seems like a great pick. I opted for the Boston 12 recently and I'm loving it for all paces, though obviously it costs a bit more right now. I use my Takumi 8s for paved ones when I want to push, Boston 12 if I want to sit back a bit, and I have Adios 6 for when I need a bit more grip but still want to go for it. Don't have trail shoes yet but my Puma VN2 have been doing a decent job on trail-y courses.
I do my local parkrun (Sewerby) which is a mix of path, trail and woodland, in a battered pair of Vaporfly 2's! If it's a flat, path, road based one then it's my racing shoes!
Afternoon Fordy, I have been running in the Hoka Clifton 9's which currently hold my 5k PB and sometimes the Hoka Mach 5. Just picked up the Asics Novablast 4 which is nice but very warm in comparison to the Clifton's. I'm at the Running Show Sunday, I know you're not comfortable with random people coming up but if I see you and you don't look like you are trying to hide it would be nice to say Hi.
Currently the owner of 3 different runners. Pegasus 40 , Asic Meta sky & Adidas Duramo . I have to say for all round do just about everything you cannot go far wrong with the Pegasus imo.
Adios 6, mainly because my local parkrun is somewhere in the lower 600s when it comes to the fastest parkruns in the UK and I'm not near any significant goal times for it either.
For parkruns I'd just use my retired super shoes that have seen too much mileage so I can no longer rely on them for the long distances but would be totally fine for the 5k. For me that is the Vaporfly 4%, Vaporfly Next% 1, and New Balance RC Elite 1 with its one-of-a-kind Dynaride outsole for the light trails.
The Hoka Cielo road seem to work also the New balance rebel V3 got me a very fast time ( quicker time than the Vaporflys ) i did like the takumi sen 8s but unfortunately they're a very narrow shoe for me
I swear as someone from the US, every time I hear about the park run program I get insanely jealous. Sounds great
It’s so good
I find it weird how it's not worldwide. No parkruns in Spain 😢.
We even have it in Russia, recently rebranded unfortunately
There are parkrun in most of US big cities. I have 2 and soon to be 3 here in Massachusetts
in Russia, there is a similar one, called 5VERST

Totally agree
Good morning. For parkruns I have the NB ffx Evoz( I love the drops 4-8mm). Like to Fordy. A nice day for everyone.

Perfect
Tarmac Urban Park: Altra Escalante Racer
Trail country parks: Vivobarefoot trails
I got my parkrun PB in a pair of Rebel V2s. Maybe it’s time to think about a new shoe for parkrun. Thanks for the recommendations.
Good shoe
I have the saucony ride 15 for tarmac and the guide 15 for country park gravel paths.
Nice
this weekend i will test the kinvara 14 at parkrun
I really want the Puma DN2s but I don't want to neglect the other 9 pairs of running trainers that I have.
9 pairs good work

It would be great to have parkruns here in NorCal.
Would it be awesome
@@FordyRuns indeed
We have one in the sf Bay Area.

Brooks Ghost Max are super cozy but the outsole has some durability issues. I am taking my second pair back due to the outsole glue losing integrity.
I use my Boston 12’s a lot at park run can’t fault it
Takumi Sen 8/9. They take a while to feel good though.
Banging
NB elite V-1 and Salomon s/lab pulsar..
Banging
We don't have parks, we only have snow🇳🇴😂😂😂
