Judging by the change to the storm shields I think we'll probably see way less 3++ than we do now, maybe some other rules will be rebalanced such as Zoanthrope's 3++ warp field. Huge invuls just isn't fun to play against.
The difference with Zoanthropes is that their regular save is worse than their invuln, unlike most units, so it would be pretty egregious to nerf them due to the Storm Shield changes.
Think I'd still prefer the axe on these guys to push them past 5str, cutting through that tasty gravis armor T5 with a 3 to wound beats the extra AP (in my opinion). Guess it depends on how much T5 stuff is gonna be played. I just have a grudge against aggressors and other Gravis units lol (and the upcoming heavy intercessors)
Agreed, with all the extra Gravis troops coming out they will see plenty of action and they still have the extra AP on a wound roll of 6 to add an extra punch
Both are going to be very relevant. Having Str. 6 weapons helps them against Custodes and Gravis. With the abundance of marines that are going to hit the field once they hit 2w, having the AP from the sword is going to be immensely helpful.
Sword is better vs Marines and their equivalents, as well as most vehicles. Axe is better vs T3 bodies, Gravis Marines, and Custodes. So there for sure is an argument to be made either way.
Really good review! I'd just add one last combo. It's not as obvious as the other ones and it involves a MBH. for 1 CP you can use Parasitic Fumes you can turn AP-1 Bolters for units within 7' of said MBH. Altenatively you, since this works for both melee and ranged, you'd also have -3 bubotic axes and -3 flails.
the AoS Kairic Acolytes with the Tzangor upgrade frame makes for pretty nifty thousand sons cultists if you are happy with autogun+melee loadout otherwise the necromunda gangs can work as a base for cultists and for nurgle you really only need gasmask heads from any of the 3rd party bits sellers and you are done. there is a guy making conversion videos for different chapter cultists cant remember what the channel is called atm but he made one for iron warriors and some other legions aswell. the Genestealer Cult basic infantry kit is a good place to start for cultists aswell just headswap and you have workers that have fallen to chaos and taking up arms against the emperor
For any unit that has that rule, if they still in their movement phase they can double tap at full range instead of half, but for termies it means regardless if they move or don't they may ALWAYS double tap at full firing range of their bolters.
Chaos Undivided has it's own generic brand units just called Chaos Terminators. Thousand Sons and Death Guard both have their own unique terminators suited to their faction.
@@GigglemaxJestercel I know that. I’m asking about their worth in combat. Not their existence. Are generic chaos terminators any good? Are they worth taking? Or are your points better spent elsewhere?

Don't forget Creeping Blight, one of the best stratagems in that entire Codex. Increasing the damage of all weapons by 1 means plague swords are a lot more viable.
Creeping blight only works on the ‘damage roll’ you don’t roll the damage for the swords or axes. Creeping blight works on the deathshroud as their scythes are D3
Looks like they will be losing their 4+ invuls soon though. Space marines cataphracti just lost their 4+ in new Space marine codex by being rolled into relic terminator Hope DG don’t but can’t see them keeping it and space marines not
Oh, that intro fluff. The very idea of Nurgle "stalking" toward anyone is intensely amusing. Stalk: 1) To pursue prey stealthily. 2) To walk stiffly or haughtily. That lard-ass can barely achieve an embarrassing and unsightly waddle. "Stealth" doesn't appear in his playbook, especially if you have a functioning sense of smell, and he couldn't manage "stiff" if Slaanesh was playing fluff girl/boy for him.
There might be something in the death guard codex that lets them get either the 3++ or a +1 to their invuln. Even without the 3++ they are still incredibly tough that not a lot will be efficient against.
They have 2+/4++/5+++ and will get their third wound... Pretty sure there will be nothing to improve their invulv, because as you see in the new stormshield rules, GW dont want that anymore...
Regular marines and termies are 1 wound and 2 wounds respectively still, they'll get extra wound when the codex drops in October, other faction get their weapons changes in October via FAQ as well. Also DG is one of the first factions to get the codex, so it will be stated there for sure.

I’m really against any nerfs on nids now. If anything they need a buff
Matt Pennino I was just going to say that. They need series help it’s not even funny, Zoas are one of there only really durable units too.
The cutest choice in my army.

You're gonna want 2 boxes of blightlord termies if you wanna run more than 3 axes. Sadly there's only 3 in a box.
