    So cool to see two guys I really respect, who were at one time competitors at IBM and Dell, collaborating to change the industry! Congrats guys.

    Great talk.
    I just went from a Asus X570 TUF Wifi + R5 3600 +2x16Gb DDR4 3200 to a R5 7600 + 2x32Gb 6000 CL30 + ASUS B650E ROG ITX 6E, and its FAST. As soon as the R7 9800X3D is my next stop !

    How soon do you see the transition to HBM4, GDDR7 and DDR6 memory modules? I already see rumors that HBM 3e is already on the horizon with AI/data center compute hardware.

    • @BrophyMichael
      @BrophyMichael 3 місяці тому +3

      It looks like DDR6 will be finalized soon! But unlikely to make it into systems earlier than 2026.
      GDDR6X (and GDDR6) are selling very VERY well and it will be a while before GDDR7 can be considered a useful improvement to graphics to the point where it becomes mainstream. Though it will be much cheaper than any HBM solution, and the RTX 5090 is all but confirmed to be using GDDR7.
      Leaks point towards all the GDDR7 and large quantities of HBM memory has been bought up by Nvidia, so any advances to HBM4 I would expect Nvidia to implement first, but the bus width on HBM3/3E is already far more than adequate for even AI processing currently. And HBM3E is highly favored because of the lower electricity costs. So I really wouldn't expect HBM4 any time soon because it would need to be worth the extra throughput for the increased power delivery cost.
      I'm sure you probably already knew this though, and it's a great question to ask that I also would LOVE to have more info on!

    If only HEDT had predictable execution instead of just plain being executed. When TR4 launched, I was so excited to be able to eventually upgrade from my X99 to TR4. But then TR4 was ended early with HEDT core count being moved to consumer socket and HEDT users that want the I/O being pushed off to lite workstation hardware for twice the cost. Having 12 and 16 cores on consumer socket only gives half of the HEDT experience. I want the 7950X performance with 4 channel memory and 40 to 48 PCIE lanes. I have no desire to buy consumer socket at any price and I will not overpay so substantially for lite workstation because it starts at 24 cores (but since I want complete 8 core CCXs, that means 32 cores). If it wasn't for crooks holding PCIE switches hostage, I would consider kicking the tires on consumer platform board with 2x 16 lane + 2x 0 or 4x 8 lane as it may work, but even if there is such a switch, they'd probably want a grand or something absurd for it and we're right back to lite workstation board pricing.

    AMD PLEASE make at least one model of 7800XT or next 8800XT which is 24-25 cm long.
    I wanted to buy 7800XT but i can't. Max GPU i can handle is 265mm ( most are few mm too big for me ) so it's a risky buy since i can't check if it fits

    Hello, good time, I think you forgot to put the name of the country of Iran in the create account section. I would appreciate it if you fix this part (we need the updated version 2020 to download on Windows) Is it possible to send messages on the site for Iranians?

    amd radeon adrenalin still not working correctly (r9 5950x + 6900 xt). This after the previous update and the new one doesn't work either. Unfortunately in the version before 2024 everything worked. trying to solve the problem even with the amd driver cleaning utility even ddu still does not work even installing the version before 2024 there are no results w11 + the drivers have done something wrong. There is no choice but to format and avoid updates.

      Are you kidding me? As of today AMD has produced a 124% return over the past 12 months...
      To talk about that with a negative vibe is absolutely wild.
      Nearly no one is disappointed.

    Nvidia is leader not only because they are good but also AMD effort in GPU's were halfhearted. Nvidia cared more to release more competetive gpu's and it's simple as that.
