@electricguitarss Satchmo, was one of many talented Jazz musicians - along with other performers such as Coleman Hawkins, Mary Osborne , Hank D'amico , Alec Templeton and many other equally talented musicians.
@generosos87 Those guys were dedicated to their music bach then. The monetary reward was just that - fans rewarding a GOOD performance. Some few, not all, of todays certain so-called performers are more interested in the monetary reward rather than the quality of the song or whatever.
@generosos87 I suppose that os the case with many types of music, plus new types of music are created for new audiences. Guess I am also a traditionalist.
@krow85 I like electronic music, BUT, the real thing sounds and , as you say, has that soul and passion that electronic devices cannot typocally generate or duplicate.
@generosos87 i recomend you to look deepeer into Hip Hop than watching current MTV. as a matter of fact Hip Hop and jazz are very very similar! look up KRS-one, lord finesse, a tribe called quest or mos def. or as in a tribe called ques lyric"you cold find the abstract (the MC's called abstrract" listening to Hip Hop / my pops used to say it reminded him of bebop / I said daddy don't you know that things go in cycles..."
such a lovable man, such a shame his influence died along with him. The man made true, beautiful music, and came from nothing. Him and so many other artists of the time shall never be forgotten for the influence they had on music as a whole, they revolutionized music period! Now when i wanna see the newest rise in music of black culture, what do i see? BITCH BITCH NIGGA NIGGA GANGSTA HOE YEEEEAAAAHHHH I GOTS MONEY N RIMZZZZ! Makes me utterly sick
@generosos87 u said it, there just trying to sound dumb on purpose. and normal people try to act like them as well. im so fucking over it. well i guess it will eventually die out but, its probably just going to die out into electronic music. which, dont get me wrong i love a lot of electronic but it doesnt have any soul or passion. its just been made on a computer.

You couldn’t put anything past Louis Armstrong.
It's also a shame that people still have such an ignorant concept of hip-hop culture and music.
Spread good will overseas? While black people were being treated like animals at home. The hypocrisy is palpable.
was Louie a Mason?
