Excellently read. A lot of Librivox books are somewhat badly read. I applaud the effort nonetheless. This, however, is well done. Also, this a great book and thorough. Considering when it was written, the prose reads as much more modern than many of its contemporaneous literary brethren i.e. "it holds up". Overall it's an interesting book that is full of firsthand details which I find other (later) works to be missing and helps one understand these battles as more than just a history lesson but rather grounds them by using said "firsthand details". Thanks to both the narrator and theposter.

Overall, I really enjoyed this. I don’t like the fact that Doubleday repeatedly stated that this would decide if freedom or slavery would rule the northern states. I don’t know much but the south was not trying to take over the north or trying to make slave states of the north. The south wanted slavery in the states that succeeded. So, this is a fallacy and should not be taught as truth.
Could have spread..and the Border states which were more Northern would have had slaves..and the fact you would have slavery so close to the North..south might not have wanted to take over the North but they did want to take itself away from the US which was treasonous and unlike sick old brandons fake insurrection, a real one
i noticed this guy cant pronounce the word "railroad" very well at all. i did however, noticed he pronounced a lot of other words correctly and up to my standards
Unfortunately, your punctuation and capitalisation are NOT up to my standard. Try and do better next term, please. Now go and paint a pretty picture for Mummy to stick on her fridge door.
Up to my standards. That was laugh out loud funny. Some people recognize tongue in cheek humor when they see it. I’m good as long as I’m not given visions of Jesus every time the reader reads the word cavalry.

I agree. I am a huge fan of librivox. Mark Smith is one of the best readers. He should be paid for it.
I agree with your point about the reading being not good a lot.
VERY GOOD MARK.😊.
Good read I wonder if this was Doubleday's way to discredit Meade and exonerate his actions during the Chancellorsville's battle.
Is there one for Edward Porter Alexander's memoir? It's an excellent read, and I'd love to hear it here.
Albukhshi it is set to release on audible on April, 28th actually. John Brown Gordon’s memoirs are scheduled to be released in June of this year also.

The original conflict wasn’t about slavery in the South, but slavery in the new territories.

I enjoy the reader, thank you Sir, but this book is garbage.
