It was great to get a close up look at JJ's original Ultima. It was in surprisingly good condition considering its age! 👍 Likewise, I've still got to build my JJ too! 😊
Absolut Awesome to allow us to witness these Kyosho Classics in Action out on Track!!! I can only say one thing, "I wish I was there"! Keep the Vintage RC passion alive.
I just watched Kyosho's official video from the event, both yourself and your Tomahawk appear in the video! I don't know why I failed to comment to this video, I watched it a few days ago, must have been while I was not logged in... Looks like an awesome day with lots of cool RC's and fellow enthusiasts!
Thanks! I noticed that too! 😁 My Optima, Turbo Scorpion and Tomahawk appear in the video. I'm also in there talking to Kogawa San as he signs a couple of things for me! 😀😊
Oh wow! That looked like an awesome day! So many great vintage cars and trucks there! I am sure you neck hurt after all day of looking around at everything LOL!!! It is really cool you got to race with some of them and run in the parade laps with everyone! Looked like a perfect day for it as well! So happy you could go and hang out there and thanks for taking us along!
Oh, it was definitely a highlight of the year for me! 😊 I'm so happy I finally got to go to this. The weather was perfect, the people so friendly and there was more vintage RC goodness than I could keep up with! I was having such a good time the day seemed to fly by and it was over before I knew it. I will be back next year for sure! Thanks for watching! 👍
I saw the BBX too, and a Genova or two. It was surprising to see them at a "Vintage Meet" given they are recent releases, but the whole event had a nice, relaxed atmosphere, so I guess you could bring and run anything. 👍
David!!!! Amazing video mate. Well done. I've seen previous years videos on this event and this years is just amazing!!! You always create fantastic content and I watch often on my lounge TV. Thank you, you do a lot of great work my friend. Im sharing this on some FB groups for you
Whow whow David, thanks for sharing that day with us and give us an insight into that vibrant rc world in Japan. I was delighted to see a few examples of a car I have been missing for a while, the fwd maxxum. That box with the vintage motors is like a treasure chest! And what a great thing to have the proto optima mid in action. Great day out and Vitamin D on special sunny day. Cheers. Laurent.
Thank you! I tell you, being in that pit area was like walking into a hobby shop when I was a kid in the 80's. 🤩 Nostalgia hit hard! So many RC buggies that I haven't seen in person for years and years! 😁 I was running around trying to see and record as much as possible! 😅
Dangerous place to be! Virus kicked back in after decades of being dormant this weekend. Built my first rc in 34 years, a kyosho scorpion, with a profond feeling of joy. I can only blame you for contributing to that. 😊 Thanks David. Now looking forward to rummaging through some old parts and cars (?) I may have left in an attic on the other side of the word. Excited. Like being reunited with an old friend.
I have no idea what happened to all the RC stuff I had as a kid. AI guess it all got lost in the sands of time. Enjoy your journey of rediscovery! 👍😁@@RC4FUN_TV
Great vintage RC cars, I would say they don’t make them like that anymore, but I can’t because of all the re-re’s 😂 Another great video David, I sore at least one Tamiya Egress, my favourite Tamiya vintage 😊
Thanks! There were quite a few Tamiya buggies, including an Egress. It was nice to see it running around the track with the other Kyoshos, Schumachers, etc. 👍
It was a great day out. The 2024 Kyosho Vintage Meet is scheduled for next month. I’m planning to go. Can’t believe it has been almost a year since the last one.
Awesomeness! I love how Kyosho, as a corporation allows other makes of rc cars in an official event. The correct spirit of Rc. It’s also great that you managed to converse with Akira Kogawa San. I was in Japan but missed the model hobby show in Tokyo cos I was somewhere else.👍😊
Thanks! You're absolutely right about Kyosho - allowing any vintage buggy to participate was a brilliant decision on their part and it made the event so much the better for it. 👍👏 It was great to speak with Kogawa San at length about RC and I was lucky to get a few items signed by him too. 😊 I saw your IG post at Super Rajikon and wondered if you'd been to the Hobby Show!
I was really happy to have a very good time together. Thank you. And, as expected, it's a professional quality video! Wonderful 👍 I'm glad that my car is reflected in a good shot 😃 Let's be together again next time! I really thank you 🤗
Thank you! 😊 Fortunately, just as your Javelin was entering the course there was a space for me to run too and I was able to complete a tracking shot. The Vintage Meet was a great day out for me! I look forward to next time! 👍
Amazing as always David. You ran a great race there bud and I loved the camera work! What a cool event by Kyosho! Some amazing RC cars but not a Raider in sight (as far as I could tell??) Seeing that track in the grass shows you don’t need a perfectly flat and preened RC track to enjoy buggy racing. Makes it so much more entertaining in my opinion
I'm pretty sure there was one in the pit area. Also, a lot of buggies were put on the display but as each one had a name card beside it, it was proving difficult to blur them all out. In the end I had to cut most of that portion out to respect other's privacy. But, yeah, there were so many buggies there. Some pretty unique creations too! 👍 The makeshift track was quite rutted and it made for some very challenging running! But it was all the more fun for it! 👍😁
Great video! Was that really a Ninja with the Ninja bodyshell? It looked very nice and seemed to be performing well in the clips where it is shown driving. Each time I see the anniversary Mid I like it more and more.
Yes, I believe it was! I was surprised to see it running and impressed by how quick it was. 👍 The '87 WC Mid looks really good in person, I don't think photos do it justice. It was enough to convince me I needed it in my collection, despite already owning an Optima Mid! 😅
Excellent camera work of all the beautiful buggies! My favorite is the Kyosho Beetle, it just oozes character. I have a Hotshot from over 30 years ago and have been out of the hobby since then, but after watching your videos about the Kyosho Legends I've decided to get the Beetle (among others). I enjoyed hearing you talk about them while seeing them in action!
Great choice! The Beetle certainly does have a lot of character. It's a pleasure to build, robust and most of all fun to drive. 👍 Be warned though, the Kyosho Legends are addictive! 😅
Quadtrack Javelin was cool, the Orb Racing FF buggy was a surprise to see. But are we just going to ignore that front-engine Hot Shot? Maybe a TA03 with buggy arms and a HS body?
Wish people appreciated the classics like this here in the states, so cool seeing all these vintage cars together
That's surprising. I thought they would be no shortage of events like this or the UK's Revival racing festival.
What a wonderful event and a truly stunning location!
Thanks! The location is a ski resort in the popular tourists area of Nagano. It's very beautiful and made a superb backdrop for the day's event. 👍
super!
Wow, Thank you for your hard work, much appreciated, a fun vid!
Glad you liked it! 😊 I enjoyed putting this one together!
That was awesome! Great video!.👍👍
Thanks 👍
Brilliant video. Amazing kyosho history right there. Would love to see the real JJ Ultima 😎 still got to build my JJ Ultima 👌
Keep up the great work 👍

Those old school Kyosho beetles are awesome they’re a blast to drive. The new rc stuff today just doesn’t have the soul of old school.
Agreed! 👍😊
Another outstanding production.
Thank-you for all your hard work in producing these videos.
And thank you for watching, commenting and supporting my little channel. 😊
Thank you for letting us, non-Japan living enthusiasts, enjoy such a great event David.
Thank you! 😊

Seems like a great event and well captured/presented
Thanks!
Fantastic event! Many thanks for sharing this.

Ok that was really cool. Looked like a fun day out. I noticed there were one or two non Kyosho cars there too.
There were buggies from all makers including - Tamiya, Schumacher, Yokomo, Associated, Nikko, Cox, etc. It is open to any vintage buggy. 👍
very very very very very very very very COOOL
Thank you! 😊 The response to this video has been overwhelming! I'm glad I could share this wonderful event with other vintage RC enthusiasts. 👍

What a feast for the eyes! I loved watching every second David and top notch editing to match!
Thank you! 😊
This looks like an awesome event! Thanks for sharing. Just subbed
Thanks for your support! 😊
So envy! Would love to join someday. Also spotting BBX, so newest release is also allowed eh? That's interesting!

@@KaiCityRC do you know when is usually this event held? would love to planning to join if they have annual dates
It's usually around the start of October. The event runs two days, Saturday for off-road and Sunday for on-road@@bijikedelai

Great event thanks for sharing. Any vintage nitro?
I saw one or two, but none were running. One had been converted to electric power. I recall there was one in the line up at the end of the video. 😊

Never had a Kyo. Maybe 1 day. Noticed all the vintage cells. Wonder where folks get those these days let alone bars to assemble them. -U10
Cells and bars still available

Thank you!! The event was held at a ski resort in the mountains and we got lucky with the weather. 👍
Awesome!! Wish we had a vintage rally here in the US! :)

I believe it was a Turbo Optima Mid Special running on the old 48mhz radio system. 😀
