Always love hearing the Secada lady, she's always full of knowledge. The ole 🐐 is on the left shelf, above Greg's head in-between 2 flower stalks in a see thru silver lined container. I'm in Butler, Ga.
Interesting seed chat, thanks for the information! Old Goat today is right above Greg between two clumps of lovely flowers in the metal container. Gainesville, FL
#Replay ,Thank you 🎉I received my Herb seed's ,from Tracy @JustDigIt,in record time 🎉🎉 That cute little guy is on the shelve behind you tonight!! Great show as always! Starting my seeds this weekend,so they'll be ready to go in my garden in May🙏.I'm in Ohio ! Thanks again❤❤
Always love seeing and hearing from Tracey! Hmmmm, trip to Florida in a couple of weeks for extensive research, south Georgia is on the way back from Florida, how about another visit in a few weeks?! Man, it was painful to pinch the top out of that Red Snapper, wasn't it Greg?? Sacrificed for the good of the show! I see that Old Goat between the flowers over Greg's head. Thanks to Monterey for that promo giveaway! What a great deal for our group!! Leeds AL
I've got my starts I did from your seeds and out local FFA has their spring plant sale next week so headed there to grab some to support them. Tomatoes, okra, cukes and lots of flowers. Great group of young people and deserve all the support I can give them.
Hoss has the best seeds! I see the goat between the flowers, he’s hiding in plain sight this week. Great show as always, I learn something new each week!
Hey y'all, great educational show tonight. Worked in my garden today! Got my sweet corn planted. Old goat standing in the container of flowers on the 2nd shelf above Greg's head.
Great information! I'm fairly new to gardening, and I'm enjoying it so much! The old goat is on the second shelf down, behind Greg. I live in Cherryville, Mo.
I got my tomatoes plugs from Hoss. They are doing awesome 🎉. Live in Valdosta, Georgia! And the old goat is in the basket off Mr. Hoss' right shoulder on the first shelf!!😊
Thanks for another good show. I live in Houma, Louisiana and have used your seeds for years now. Thanks for explaining how they go about the breeding process and how long it takes. Very interesting. I have a small garden for the family and we love the Red Snapper tomato. The old goat is watching from the flowerpot on the second shelf behind Greg.
Old goat standing in the flowers right above Greg's head on the third shelf. Already got lots of plants started, taters looking great, broccoli, onions, lettuce, radishes, snow peas, and cabbage really looking good. Ready to get everything else going!! Great show as usual.
Gardening strong in Texas! Old Goat is in the wire basket behind Greg. I have a great lettuce, kale, spinach bed growing now. Nothing like fresh salads picked just before you eat!
Finally got over the sick from last week, so we got all my first starts in the ground this week (zone 8A). Yep, I "got dirty"!!! Planted 8 varieties of tomatoes, 6 of peppers, 2 of egg plant, 3 of cucumber, 4 of watermelon, pumpkins and honey dew, oh and 1 type of bush bean. We had our last "possible frost" threat the first of this week, so I had been holding off and had some nice strong up-potted plants ready. I've had mixed results with pelleted seeds. Most problems seem to be with lettuce for us. My Hossinator's, red snapper, and bella rosa did just fine though. Granted my pelleted lettuce came from another source (say it ain't so - but in my defense, it's 2 varieties Hoss does not carry). I've even thought of trying to presoak to loosen the clay on the lettuce. I agree 200% that watering is key with pelleted seed. I find the frequent light top watering before sprouting works best. Bottom watering before complete sprouting is too much. Also I tried my left over Hossinator seeds from last season along with this seasons pack, and both had 100% germination for me. So if you have some pelleted seed left over, don't just toss them "because", but also have fresh ready to plant as well. I would much rather give away plants from last season's seed than just toss them not trying to germinate them, but again still buy fresh as 2nd season germination is a blessing not a guarantee IMO. I do "sucker" some of my determinates the last week of June, but it is to use them as starts for a 2nd planting. I just stick them in a pot with starting mix and the cut suckers root into plants faster than I could start the same size from seed (plus I save seeds). This gives me plants for a late summer/fall harvest. Monterey is a great line of garden products. I use several of their products every year. I'm in McDonough, Georgia zone 8A. The Old Goat is in the center of the basket between the two flower cuttings, on the top shelf directly over Greg's head in the main view.
Love your show! I always catch the lizards here in Leesburg, Florida on those sticky traps! Looking forward to this year's growing season. I currently have beans and cowpeas growing. ❤
Thanks for another great show! I'm excited to see the micro trend continuing, and I'm hoping to give indoor tomatoes a try this year. Old Goat is directly above Greg's head; I guess he needed a break after all his Easter hiding shenanigans!
The more we learn the more we realize that we do not know enough as to gardening and seeds and more. A great presentation by both Hoss and the Lady from Secada Seeds. Heck the Old Goat was even peeking over Hoss's shoulder so that he would not miss out on a thing. We are a bit "alienated" in Roswell New Mexico!
So if I understand this right. The pelleted seeds need to be used pretty quickly? They cant be saved for the following year or longer? Some of my raw tomato seeds I have had for Years, and they still germinated this year that I planted them. Im in Burlington, Iowa
Hey y'all! We are finding one pest eating our plants here on the Gulf Coast is......our dogs!! They are eating our purple hull pea.plants, our squash leaves, even the sunflower leaves. Now, the Old Goat is above Greg's head. The thing we are growing that is different are mini blue popcorn and mini pink popcorn. That's just fun.
Love Watching you I've learned so much from you guys on UA-cam. By? The. Way I? See the. Ogo in a container between the plants above horses head on the 1st shelf up top.
The goat is between the flowers I'm not a seed expert I have used other seed companies in the past what makes hoss tools the best is there germination right my seeds have a hundred percent germination rate and the second thing is your excellent excellent customer service they are the best
The crazy things I like to grow are giant varieties. Giant pumpkins, I had a giant tomato breed a few years back (I don’t remember where I got them, but they weren’t bigger than a better boy or celebrity), I’ve tried growing giant okra etc. Those are fun.
Are all your red snapper seeds primed I didn’t see anywhere under description stating that I bought a pack of 50 from you guys cause I grow the variety every year for the past 6 years but I won’t be planting all 50 so will the seeds not germ next year ?
Yes, they are primed. They don’t hold germ as well as raw seeds. We have been successful holding them over. We have ideal storage conditions. If you have to hold them over. Place in a Ziplock bag and keep in fridge. Greg
I always enjoy listening to Tracy. She is a wealth of knowledge. Too bad she went to Clemson. I actually like the pelleted seeds. I find overhead watering is key in the beginning. I’ve never had issues with germination. Being that I have a small backyard garden I don’t start many seeds, so I do store those pelleted seeds and have had no issues with germination even after 1 year.
The only seeds that I put in my garden or from y’all, I always get 100% germination on your seeds
Thanks Gary
