Awesome 150 video. I was on the hill filming the train pulled by W192 and JA 1240 when 192 did that long whistle. The Ka was louder than the ja on the way back to mainline steam aye.
Awesome video! In America our trains blow the whistle two longs, a short, and a long for grade crossings, the last long lasting until the front of the train enters the crossing. This is something I kept expecting and missed while watching trains during my time in New Zealand.
Why do people who make these videos insisting on standing next to a level crossing bell? Its a common theme with these sorts of clips and TBH, the bell is annoying and off putting.
Ahh memories good old memories I will never forget

3:30 Oh sweet, is that one of the original Arthur's pass/Otira tunnel locos? This gets a like!

Amazing video. Nice catch with all these amazing pieces of restored history.
What a wonderful day you must have had. Great selection of locos & rolling stock. Thanx.
why were JA1240, KA942 and DJ1209 taken away by DSG3208?
Awesome
A "dead cat" microphone sock would have helped with that dreadful wind noise...
