I love the comment saying "This insanity isn't filler" because it's exactly what makes this so funny. The next episodes are pretty good, and you'll understand more about some characters.
The funny thing is that even though this episode is canon, the cameo audience members were added for the anime version. So one of the reasonings for why y’all thought it was filler was on point.
Also, Taurus doesn’t come out at all in the original version, so there’s another one. I don’t recall him ever coming out on his own before this episode either. Normally, you need the spirit and the caster to agree to open the gate…which is why it was a big deal for Lucy to be able to force close the gate in Galuna. So that contributes to the play feeling filler-y as well.
This episode is hilarious.. don't expect it to become like My Hero's play since Fairy Tail is about destroying, messing up everything in a funny way🤣😭... Erza is suck in mostly everything except for fighting since she didn't get a chance to grow up like what normal girls do... there will be another play episode but around episode 200+ something i guess.. Hopefully you will react to the trailer as well
I rechecked this on the manga chapter 70 ! the play is canon but the chamer guy and the others that apears in the anime version of this was filler the charmer guy is still evil Anime just tried to make it more *friendly* ! xD I wasn´t a fan of that decision I see you finished Erza´s arc on patreon just one detail the samurai lady Erza fought died in the same fight While the anime let her alive at the end of the arc for no reason Erza killed her in the manga

oh yeah these episodes aren't filler. They add lighthearted eps in between arcs but they're all cannon
