As a child born and raised in Somerset I would visit Cricket St Thomas often and was mesmerised by the boat ride; my mum remembers I would beg to do it again and again. This is the first time in 25 years that I have seen actual footage of it- thank you so much for sharing!
This is so amazing to see, i by chance found this showing my GF of 9 years the sea lion pool. I'm 38 now but around this time my mother was dating a guy called Kev who was a gardener at Cricket St Thomas. We used to stay at his place when we visited the park which was in the cottage just next to the sea lion pool. We even got to swim with the sea lions too and somewhere my mum must have photos of that along with photos of her getting on one of the elephants there. I remember these times so fondly, still young enough that i was still pure. . I used to love going there and so did my two sisters. We used to go on the rides so much being there as soon as everything opened. Until now i have never seen footage of much of the park, especially inside the children's adventure playground inside blobby land. The area where the rugrats are in this video accompanied by parents i'd tear through when playing chase etc as it led outside the area where adults sat at tables near the food/drink venues opposite (from memory anyway, i remember there was a little barrier to keep the toddlers in the area that i'd have to leap over and not wipe out on). Thanks for uploading this, its so lovely to see footage of it because i find a lot of negative things about it online and for a child at the time it was fantastic. I remember also seeing last night of the proms there (my mum wanted to see it, us kids... not so much) and a fireworks display prob around fireworks night. Ahh the memories, the peacocks sounding off as we went across to the off-road three wheeler ride on the little train. Amazing. Funniest thing is as a young lad, my favorite place there was the wooden fort adventure playground outside the main park near the car park. It was great for all kinds of imaginary catch/hide and seek games etc.
Brilliant memories! Really nice to hear video helped with a good trip down memory lane, it's nostaligic just reading your description of running around. Thanks for sharing!
I'm pretty sure the live stage shows haves the voices of Mr Blobby, Mrs Blobby and Baby Blobby that were actually pre-recorded, not someone in the suit (a employee) trying to do Blobby's voice on a special vocoder.
Take this was during it opening season (1995/96). PS: I *do* wonder what became since of a lot of this! Noel and the Beeb back then *sure had* some ambition, just didn't last.
Hi! Unfortunately the footage was on an old tape that had been taped over in certain parts. I had to remove the random clips of birthday parties etc :)

Glad you enjoyed it😊
I went there when I was 9, nearly 10 and Lindsay was 6 and I bought an orange book with the train covered in mud.
These kind of footages is really fascinating. How i wish Time travelling is a reality.
If anyone wants to get footage of the Family Favourites TV Attraction, well it's at 14:27
A strange ride indeed, Bill & Ben, The Clangers...
@@coraljackzI think the start when you were recording the ride was Andy Pandy, also don't forget Doctor Who and the Magic Roundabout
Wild how big Blobby was in Britain at the time, even a Number 1 single. Watched the blob every Saturday on Noel Edmonds House Party.

Love the sleeping dog family.
9:01 Is the Bell Fruit Noddy Airplane Kiddie Ride if you wanted the name of it :)
I visited Dunblobbin around this time judging by the date.
