The gold tap is not broken, that’s how it looks when it’s not installed. I have one and I was worried as well, but fortunately where I bought the tap had a video that showed how it came to how it should be installed and how it looks after.

btw the gold kitchen tap with the hose wasn't broken; it comes with a weight (black looking ball) which goes under the sink and wraps around the hose to weigh it down. this allows you to pull out the hose and when you're done the weight will pull it back down.
