I run a chugger pump for moving hot liquids with the same cam locks. I also run a diaphragm pump for moving washes from fermenters to the still. Inlet has a 1/2 stainless racking cane (fine mesh screen attached) with silicone hose. Outlet is silicone hose with a 1/2 ball valve at the end. A Diaphragm pump (Shurflo) is great because it can be run dry and Self Primes up to 9 feet. However it does not like temps above 120f(?) degrees. So I only use it to pump washes into the still. I run water and star san to clean it out later. I also run a small pond pump (mag pump) for my shotgun condenser. A large pond pump for my dephlegmator (reflux condenser). Outlet on dephlegmator has a gate valve to how fast the cooling water leaves it. They go in my slop sink filled with water during a run. When water gets too hot, drain the sink 1/2 way and refill. After a run I break down the column and put it in the hot sink water for a rinse. After 10 to 30 minutes (if not keeping the backset) I drain the backset out of the still. Then put a 1/2 CIP spray ball ontop of the still and pump the water out of the sink and into the still for a good rinse. Cheers Randy!
Hi stillworks and brewing between your cam locks what kind of tubing do use because I dot see the curl I see with many of the tubing's that are on the market , yours seems to keep a straight configuration. maybe a link where i can buy that kind of tubing? You put out informative videos Randy!!!!
This is a very, very helpful video. I've struggled a lot with water in the past. This will definitely help me inprove.
Glad it was helpful!
i didn't know all of that about pumps, thanks Randy good video.

I was looking at the sticker on my pumps where it says oil, but I didn't notice the port. Thanks for pointing that out!

Nicely thought out set up you have there. As I have stated before I am quite envious of your dedicated space.
Thank you kindly maybe should do a video tour you think any one would like to see that?
@@stillworksandbrewing Can't imagine why anybody who is interested in the craft wouldn't want to see your full set up.
Great info! Thank you for all of that!
Glad you enjoyed it!
