  • This video covers one way (with some variations) to model the Dove pump soap bottle. Why this bottle? I like the form - it is well resolved and is simple and distinctive compared to similar products. If you find this video useful, please subscribe. Many thanks, AJ.
    Here's the final file.

a step by step process would have been more helpfull for absolute beginners.

Hi, I'm not targeting my content at absolute beginners. There's loads of content in that area already.

    Very useful!
Really great to see videos again.
I liked how you created a C2 connection between a line and a style curve. Excellent example!

Hi Fred. Yes, using co-linear when connecting style splines to lines is quite useful. Especially as you can get a G3+ condition while using SW 2017 (and earlier).

Great video, learning Solidworks at the moment at University. Would it be possible for you to go into more depth on this video on the geometry?

Hi Zoe, hope learning SW is going well? I did sort of fly through this... I can try recording something more in depth with an explanation as to my thinking and decisions. Might be a few days away though.

Challenging form! Great to practice on!
However I’m not a big fan of “how it looks”.

I guess form is very much a subjective matter Tony! To be honest, I’m probably more drawn to this form because I can see the underlying challenge of the geometry😀

@@AndrewJacksonDesignStudio haha! Maybe I jumped to conclusion too soon as I understand your point better now that I’ve gone through the whole video!

All good! The world of soap bottles has some pretty unmemorable forms... and not many that are visually simple AND present a modelling challenge!
