I just love your mouse house! What an amazing idea to use an old book in that way. I don’t know anything about those collectible mice so I will have a look! Your quilt will be stunning in those beautiful colours and the tree decorations are beautiful! Lovely episode Kelly and thank you for persevering and making it for us xx
I think your quilt is brilliant❣️ it has give me a quilt idea for some scraps I bought on Etsy. I’ve been trying to collect Paris flea market by moda. I have found a few to add to my collection my goal is after we move and get things sorted I will start on my quilt. Thank you for all the inspiration and kind words of encouragement. You always lift me up and I really appreciate you❣️
I love your ornaments and strings quilts. You can use the tiny bits of leftover fabric to make tree decorations by painting PVA glue on to the fabrics and then sticking them to polystyrene or papier- mache baubles, sometimes I use cheapo plastic ones too. Or even decorate another mouse-house!
Hi Kelly. Your makes are all amazing. I particularly like the cross stitch ornaments. I can sympathise with you about lack of sleep as I have had pulsatile tinnitus 24/7 for the last 2 years and it makes sleeping a real challenge. Looking forward to your knitty suggestions next week. x
Joining you in the crap perimenopause symptoms club although insomnia is not one of my symptoms. When you describe how you felt about going on the craft retreat, that’s how I felt that you are as a host so welcoming. I actually thought you had a bit of a glow about you when I was watching the Instagram live the other day so glad you are generally feeling okay. I’m watching on the treadmill as I’m trying to combat some of my symptoms by improving my exercise and that does seem to working, so onwards and upwards and the mouse house is too cute .lovely to see you as always
Hi Kelly! Your stars with teddy bear backing are so so cute..love them! It's so great when we find little projects that give us joy- it was tiny crochet pumpkins for me last week- lol. I share your issue with hormonal insomnia (3-6am for me) and wanted to mention something that has been helping. I started taking magnesium (specifically magnesium glycinate as your body absorbs it better) and much to my surprise, it has really really done some good and I find myself getting up at 6am instead of 3. Those extra hours are a godsend. Hang in there.. you are beautiful, inside and out. Take care!!
Morning Linda, thank you so much for sharing your experience with magnesium. A few months ago i started on a really good vitamin regime but i stopped it because i was struggling to justify the monthly cost. Since a few of you have mentioned them it got me thinking and i did feel better when taking them, less joint ache too. I have re-ordered them♥️
Another voice for trying some magnesium Kelly. And it’s been a lovely visit, so nice to see you enjoying your not knitting crafty endeavours this week.
What a lovely surprise Kelly, but so sorry to hear you’ve been unwell and hope you’re feeling much, much better soon. I love the house for a mouse and your quilt but most of all the collaboration between Megan and Kelly. Those Christmas stars will look wonderful on the caravan tree, I hope you’ll show us. Take care Kelly and try not to work too hard. Xx
That was a lovely treat. Covid did finally get me and at day 7 I am still positive. I am starting to feel so much better and I am grateful for all the vaccinations I have had. Even got given antiviral pills which are gross. Hope you soon feel a bit more like yourself. Your quilt will be beautiful. ❤xx
Oh Kelly, how lovely, all things you are working on. And as for your house for your mouse is adorable. It was so lovely to meet you last week at your shop. Oh and by the way I haven’t flown in the glider yet, weather has postponed it everyday.😜
I can knit until I fall asleep but then I look at my work when I am awake and think….. what the hell have I done there? 😂😂😂See you on Saturday at Yarndale xxx
❤❤❤ Ahh! What a PERFECT way to start my day! You are absolutely amazing. I'm glad you didn't give up on the podcast, it was so lovely to see you! Sorry about the menopause issues… I desperately need sleep so I can't imagine how hard it must be when you can't sleep. Your cross stitch ornaments are so beautiful! And the soft teddy fabric is such a great idea!!! I love the idea of having a Christmas tree with handmade ornaments on it. That book you were showing us looked divine! You are right, I think I need my own copy of that just to look at!!! 🥰 Your quilt blocks are stunning! I found myself gasping out loud when you were showing us all of the beautiful colors and the quilt patterns. That is going to be such a beautiful quilt! Oh my gosh! The mouse! Crafting a mouse house with friends tucked inside a beautiful home sounds like a dream! That turned out SO cute!!! Who knew you needed a mouse in your life?!?! 😆😁 Lovely podcast! You are a delight and a joy to watch! 🥰🥰🥰
That's so funny, Kelly, what you said about knitting while you're sleeping. Years and years ago, a friend of mine said that her mother was at the hairdresser, and when she was under the dryer, the woman next to her shook her and said, "Wake up, lady, you're still knitting!"but it makes sense when you think of people knitting rounds and rounds on their socks while they're in a movie theater. Best to you, Nick and, of course, Geoff (I hope he is still sporting a bowtie!) ❤
Hi Kelly! You have been very busy crafting. Everything is so wonderful. The ornaments are turning out so sweet. I finish my mother's stitching regularly and mother/daughter projects are so special aren't they! I love your quilt. It is going to be so pretty. The teddy fabric as a backing would make it so snuggly. Another idea would be a fleece blanket. And now the mouse house...🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎. Oh my, that is sooooo adorable! I am collecting little mice for my Christmas tree. I tuck them into the branches and it makes me smile. What a wonderful idea to have it inside a book. Have a happy weekend Kelly! We are off to the woodland cottage after lunch. 🧶🍂
So glad to see you but sorry you have not been feeling well!!! OH MYYY.......your Mouse House is AMAZING!!!! I have never seen anything like this, so creative!! What a fun way to spend the day with friends!! I also LOVE all your cross stitch ornaments, they will look WONDERFUL on your new tree!! Oh My....your quilt blocks are FANTASTIC!!! Can't wait to see the finished quilt!!
Missed you Kelly and delighted you are here. Sorry to hear you felt like pants last week. Well that’s how we say “ not feeling great” in our house. Oh my giddy aunt, the X Stitch decorations are wonderful. We have a Christmas tree in our living room and that has all hand made decorations. The tree in the kitchen/family room has other decs but I just love the hand made ones. We will need a piccie of the caravan tree when it is up. Take care lovely lady.❤
Love all your crafting ❤the mouse house is fabulous as are the Christmas 🎄 decorations it’s always lovely seeing a variety of different crafts and to pick up whatever you’re in the mood for doing is one of the joys of it all 😊
Hi Kelly, I hope you get a chance to rest before your busy time starts. I love the cross stitch decorations. A real mother and daughter project, they'll look stunning on your tree. I also love the mouse house, cuteness overload ❤ and the quilt blocks, well, I'm off to buy fabric, I'm so inspired. What a multi talented lady you are. Take care of you. ❤
Hi yes know what you are saying falling asleep knitting I’m the same 😂also if I try to read a book. Think it’s because mind and body is just relaxed and we just need to let it happen 😊.
How gorgeous are all those tree ornaments. Yes a hand crafted tree sounds right. I’m not an embroiderer or quilter but I enjoy seeing others work. I really don’t think I’d have the patience (or the eyesight!). Take care xx
So many times today have I been thinking about you and Nick getting ready, packing and hopefully having restorative cups of tea along the way! I literally cannot wait to see you in Skipton on Sunday and share mama bears’ hugs! Your quilt is stunning and that fabric, how fitting is it for those cute embroideries? Rabbit hole for mice, that had me in stitches! When I went to Ironbridge last year, I had an early morning walk before breakfast and saw a delightful toy shop not far from a lovely flower shop, river side and it had lots of Maileg treasures in the window … hum, that’s a thought, hey? Have the safest of journeys up to Yorkshire! 🐾🍁🍄☕🧶
Always enjoy a chat with you!!! I know how you feel with those early morning wake ups. I get up at 3 am and watch podcasts hoping to drop off. We need to start a 3 am tea club 😊
What a fabulous collection of makes! Love them all and the Mouse House is so lovely. You may benefit from going to the doctor and asking for a Well Woman or a full spectrum blood test including your vitamins. It’s surprising what we can be lacking at this stage of our life especially things like magnesium, Vit B and Vit D. X
Kelly you don’t look haggard 😂😂. But I can totally relate 😅. I love your house for a mouse! I love miniature things, but don’t have any…hmmm lol ….Noooo!!! I see another rabbit hole looming! Just wanted to let you know that I have finally plucked up the courage to walk my dog… and have been doing so for a month now. Part of the inspiration was you and your videos and then the final push was when my partner went on a boys trip to the states for 2 weeks. Our dog, Digger, normally goes to work with him everyday , where he has lots of space to run and goes on adventures with dad. But he was going to have to be at home in the dog run while I was at work, so I knew he would need walks. We have continued since Evan got home and Digger reminds me every morning that it’s time for a walk 😂❤❤ October is looming and I will be filming vlogtober videos…. Busy times ahead ❤ I love sitting down and watching you, thanks for keeping me company. Xxx
You did so much knitting before the last show so it must be nice to do some sewing instead. The cross stitch decorations are gorgeous and I’m sure it was nice and relaxing being with friends and decorating the cutest mouse house. 😊
I love those xstitch patterns. Are you able to tell us where you bought the patterns from. Thanks for sharing your makes, happy stitching. I can so relate to the insomnia, and the feeling of needing an afternoon snooze!! Regards.
Kelly , I am not sure if it was Dunelm but I think they sold some of that teddy bear fabric bedding , that might be a good way to back your quilt as it would be fabric in a wide piece xxx just love it
Thank you Kelly, loved all the content, made me very happy x
Love that mouse and his house. Very interested in that book too...... Another rabbit hole to fall down. What a way to go. Happy stitching. Regards.
I absolutely love your mouse and it's house!! 😍 So cute!!

Ooh good idea, i have seen those covers in tesco and all sorts of places. X
Kelly, thanks for sharing! Would love to know the book you used for the cross stitch. Yours were beautiful!!
Lovely to see the quilt work, never tried it, what have you backed those blocks with...looks like iron on interfacing???
Hi Tricia, I used a product called stitch and tear because it’s what I already had. there are specific products available but they are a bit pricey.
