For anyone who has ever been or seen these kind of situations. Other paramedics would not be allowed anywhere near there while there's an unknown shooter in the location. @@damaribrackett1159 what?
targeting paramedics doesn't even make sense motive-wise.
@@damaribrackett1159 What are you talking about? Do you know how Dragunovs operate?
I think this episode is partially based on the North Hollywood shootout in February 28, 1997. A SWAT team commandeered a nearby armored truck, which was used to extract wounded civilians and officers from the scene who had been wounded in the shootout.
You’d think that would be a give-in. What’s the point of those trucks being armoured…if you cat use them for that.
Very possible Justin.
Of course, snipers going after police, fire and medical personnel also occurred during the 1960s and 70s too.
@@Orinatl It was an armoured bank money truck.
Didn’t they commandeer a gun shop and used rifles for better fire power and SWAT was invented after that? Or was that a different one
@@johnson4064 The patrol officers did go to a gun shop to get more powerful weaponry because the robbers had higher caliber weapons than they had and their bullets weren't getting through the robber's body armor. The shop owner, gave them some rifles and ammunition. That was before SWAT got there. SWAT came into being in 1967 after the Watts Riots in 1965.
i watch these shows to find out how first responders don't handle a situation. Its like a safety training video on what not to do in the field or what doesn't happen in the field.

you do realise he wasn't trying to kill them, right? he wants to wound them, using them as bait to get others out to help.
also, the guy in the car is pretty invisible, you can't really see that well thru car windows, especially from that distance, so it's kinda just guesswork at that point.
@@zTeaTheCoffee except for the fact everyone and their mother knows where a driver sits. Not hard to put a round on target if you know the relative position. You don’t need to see your target if you just know where he is
@@zTeaTheCoffee You can easily shoot to 'wound' a target that's still from a vantage point.
He wasn't trying to kill them. He was "torturing" them. Intentionally wounding to cause pain, but not to kill.

Cousin of mine in Fire Rescue had a situation some years back where they were answering a call. At the location as they where dealing with the caller, they all started hearing gun fire. He and his partner on this call, remained calm and rushed everyone (the patient, their family, and a few spectators) on the scene into the ambulance, and called the cops. They all waited in there, terrified, until the cops secured the scene. He has always had my greatest respect before as a Firefighter and Paramedic, and after even more so.
The guy who used the truck as a shield was a hero he save three men and helped reveal the shooter's location
The main question i have. Why did he not grab like thre armoured vests of people and cover himself with them as he would be in a known position in the ambulance
@@kaspernbs I didnt know heads a bullet proof vest
@@poindextersheelturn436 Yeah, the shooter who is not firing kill shots would suddenly aim for the head of a person in a moving vehicle instead of anywhere else. Also, you know how elevation works right? He was on the 3rd story of the building shooting down. Try hit a headshot on a moving target when you can't see their head because of the roof of the cab. Smart guy, for real. I agree with the other guy, grab a vest atleast to cover the vital organs in your upper body or cover the tops of your legs (the things you need to drive and execute the plan). Considering his thighs and hips would have been in the perfect angle of fire.
@kaspernbs A standard-issue bulletproof vest won’t be effective against rifle rounds. I’m sure the writers don’t know that, but the implication is that he did.
Well no wonder the shooter missed the first shot. You don't clamp the bipod for the SVD to the barrel as it will cause you to shoot high. It clamps to the reciever just Infront of the mag well. Seems he worked it out for the second shooting.
Not to mention the second guy he shoots should of been a headshot seeing where his scope was aimed at I'm still trying to figure out how you aim at someone's head and hit their leg.
I've done that the 200 yard line before before, aiming center mass but instead shot the leg off the target stand where it staked in the ground, but it was because my rifle was dropped and the asshat who knocked it over didn't bother to tell me before going about his way after the range was cold and I was down on the line changing out targets.
I think in this case either the shooter had a change of heart or there was a continuity error in the editing.
@@kingjohn1011 he aims to wound everyone. Every single shot was non lethal. But yeah, the camera work was odd
@@kingjohn1011 maybe he just missed and the bullet went through the bin, the amout of times he tried correcting is zero was insane so that could be why he didnt really hit his head

Good thing that 1 paramedic called dispatch before he got shot
Huh it’s funny that’s the same guy that’s on Chicago fire right now that was told it’s not a good time to go in severide
Also genuinely the first thing you learn is BSI scene safe the most important thing is your safety mor important than the patients ( better one patient than two )
@Alex Pontosand
That's the point, go to 'help', get shot too, and there's TWO victims bleeding to death ..... and no one to help either of you.
@Alex Pontosand Well if you also become a patient, than you’re only making the situation worse. Medics should only go in when it’s safe.
The guy paramedic was the best out of all of them
I swear Taylor Kinney does not age!!!

He just gets better, like wine.
Is that Kelly Severide from Chicago Fire I see 😍🥰
This was a lot more violent then I thought it would be.
Just seeing this that officer put 2 in medics and another officer in danger. If that medic didn't do what he did they would have died. Smh I know this is fiction but it's also showing how a wrong decision can lead to loss of lives
everybody just staring until the "cool dude" makes a move...I mean c´mon 🤣
"We need a medic up here"
Me: tell him to walk it off
So your telling after the first incident there wouldn’t be cops sent to the scene first
Can I ask an obvious question to the writers?......why would you lay there waiting to be shot again? As you've been shot, you know what general direction it's coming from. Why not try for cover?
The thing I like/hate about these shows is how they have a tense situation that has some basis in reality and then take a wild left turn into dumb town. The loose cannon has to take the risk to protect the victims and expose the shooter. Then, SWAT finds the shooter, hits him with a flash and puts one in his chest from the doorway. If that shooter still needs a medic, someone needs to go re-qualify.
swat arrived and there is no eagles, no one securing the building. got 20 guns looking at the windows but everyone's blind. Nice.
Those other Medic units wouldn't have been within 2 miles of the scene of an active shooter.
Man, that sniper's trash. Find a new job.
Damn shame we don't get to learn the sniper's beef.
Honestly. I want that show.
Either bad experience with a paramedic, he just felt like it, or he knows that taking out as many paramedics as possible can indirectly harm people not even on the scene. Since it’s an unrealistic (and most importantly, fictional) medical show he probably just felt like it.

Because it’s a riot shield, not a bulletproof
you play too much call of duty
Riot shields might hold up against small caliber bullets like a .22 maybe a .45 depending on the style of shield like polycarbonate or layered steel but a few rounds of a 9mm would go through it let alone a 7.62 rifle round.
