Concerning the off beat thing- with my limited experience with this (as I only worked with my vocaloid a few times before it suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason) for whatever reason when people create vsq's (I believe that's the right one) occasionally they space them incorrectly, leaving either no or incorrectly timed gaps between vocals or at the beginning of songs, which can be difficult to fix considering you can only shift everything within certain time increments. The issue is probably that the person who put this together used someone's vsq which was spaced incorrectly, and either couldn't fix it or fixed it as best as they could.
I love the Japanese version of this, even though I know it is Miku singing the Japanese version I still like it, I like this version just as much as Luka singing the English version of circus monster.

i don't know what everyone means by messed up beat. I have to say there is a slight disonence between the lyrics and the precussion, but it sounds intentional to me. it creates a very cool effect. Awesome song!
The vocal and music are not synced..she sounds off (a little faster than the music since she started earlier). If you can fix that, it will sound even better~ Other than that I love her voice

Vocaloid1 wa the first vocaloid program they brought out, then they updated it and released Vocaloid2 (which is the generation of the program Miku was made for) and the most recent one is Vocaloid3. I'm not very good at explaining things but i hope this helped ;o
You also have to realize though that the "fictional characters" are part of a larger society run by humans. So although they aren't real and have taught you so much, it is really the creators of them that have taught you the most.
If I was the one who made her cover the song, I wouldn't take it as an insult but as constructive criticism, which is good. I see that you're just a fan defending the things you love, which I love, but you need to realize that negative things can also be positive :)
I'm an American, I used to not understand Japanese songs, but I listen to them so much now that they are a part of me! O_O Music is it's own language, no matter if the singer is speaking Japanese, English, German, or Gibberish! XD
