As a child, my late-wife visited Angela Park through the early '70s with her parents, uncles, aunts and grandmother. There exists some old 8 mm home movies of smiles in sun-dappled glades which contrast with the sad afterglow of the scenes in this excellent video montage. For me there's something sacrosanct about this location that even 'progress' cannot remove.
My mom, dad, grandparents, aunts, and uncles always talk about how fun this happy place was to my cousins and I. It's such a shame this generation of northeastern Pennsylvania wont be able to experience the happiness of Angela park. It really makes me upset.
So disappointed 😞 that this park was never the same or ever reopened. My dad would take me here a lot when I was a little girl & my name is Angela too. Very depressing it's gone.
I loved Angela Park as a child. I remember taking the skyride & looking down on the roofs of the park's buildings a few of which were ABSOLUTELY COVERED by tossed coins. Quarters, dimes, nickels & pennies that had to total hundreds if not thousands of dollars laid upon them. I would think how neat it would be if I could just hop down to those roofs 😂😂. I'm not sure why people tossed their coins there. For luck I suppose (maybe there was a sign?). This is likely where my childhood dreams of happening upon troves of coins deep enough to collect them with a shovel came from 😆😉😅😄
I was never there. I drove past it a few times after at was all taken away. I heard liability insurance rate increases affected many amusement parks. And times where a changing.
@Mad24680 My initial inclination is to tell you what I tell my home-schooled kids… “Look it up”. It’s actually in the narration - but to save you time, it was the family matriarch. She passed before getting to see its completion.
@96z28ss As i TahoeSouthShore, for an personal response from the narrator himself, please watch this video ;-): ua-cam.com/video/acB-WOseTd/v-deo.htmlM Hmmmm... after watching it again, he's speaking pretty slow in this one... I had to stretch it out because UA-cam kept blocking the audio when it was able to identify any of it. Until i get time to narrate them myself, we’ll all have to put up with U.K. Pete.

Such a shame it's gone....many fun summer days were enjoyed here.
Sad story. I remember going to visit my grandmother during the summers and all of us going there. I used to love that pool...
They used to take all the crossing guards there every year. It was a great place. It's hard to see it like that.

So many good times there. That pool and train were fantastic. This is sad. My son won a beauty contest on that stage in 1987.

Definitely a great spot to metal detect but I'm sure it's been done
Whoa, very cool! Thanks for the pic and hope you enjoyed the memories from ...a long, long time ago...
Love the narration by Steven Hawking.

People likely rather play video games then go to the park.
Looks like there is no structures left

I’m almost positive that’s me on the bumper cars. I spent so much time on those
so cool to see this... but very sad its gone i bet it was cool back in the day
Enjoyed going to the pool. Every 5 minutes the loud speaker would say "Joe Barietta telephone" all day long.
I spent my childhood here
Is the narrator electronic?
nice video. thanks.
i remember an amusement park in the royersford and limerick area but for the life of me i cant remember it. anyone know the name of it?
Lakeside Park. I went there on a company outing once - 1970s
Yes, we lived there after they closed it---another sad situation. I think there is a gas station there now.
where did the name angela park orignate from?
Great pics, info, music ... but the narration really detracts from it. Makes it hard to enjoy.
I like to know are some of these park are for sale I'm looking for place for small camping park to start with
My first "date" was there when I was in 4th grade - 1979.

Owned by the Barletta family, as in Lou (now running for Senate)
Fancy Pete is easier to follow than a guy who narrated his own about >>The Abandoned Theater In Chicago, Illinois
why is an English robot narrating this!
