Hey friends! This is definitely a longer video but it is FULL of information, treat it like a podcast or a condensed coaching call, listen, absorb and enjoy! 🫶
Your UA-cam channel is going to explode. A natural educator, great energy and fantastic content. Here to learn, super anxious about getting into Whatnot and so glad I found you . Thank you so much for sharing!
Aww thank you so much!!! I really appreciate those kind words! I have always had a passion for teaching and I love my job so I'm glad to share what I've learned and help others. Whatnot is amazing, you just have to get started! Thanks for watching 🫶
Great video.. Really helped me break out of my shell... 🐢 Been in the platform for well over a year.. watching and participating as a mod..I always thought hey I can do this...But never followed through. Until now you helped me gain the confidence to forge ahead..❤
Hey, that is incredible to hear! You can do this and having your experience with the platform and how buyers and sellers interact with each other as well as the basics of how Whatnot works will be very helpful in your process of starting. Best of luck!! 🫶
I’m really looking forward to meeting you and to attend your presentation at the books and beyond conference. I just found your channel an Al looking forward to watching your videos. My name is Brent Nielsen. I will be the one in the electric wheelchair. I have been primarily a buyer on whatnot. I have sold a few funko pops on the platform before they started doing live auctions. I love the platform. I started following Joji at the beginning of the year. Started buying books for Amazon on may 1st. I think it’s important to diversify so I’m super interested in what you are doing on whatnot. Thanks for the content.
Hey Brent!! Thanks so much for watching and I am so glad to hear you will be attending the conference, I can't wait to meet you there. I love Whatnot as well and it's a great way to move additional inventory. If you're getting into FBA it will be a good place to sell your "duds" as long as they are still generally desirable books. Obviously the audience on Whatnot is much smaller than Amazon. I'll see you next month!
Another great video! Thank you so much for the information. Could you do a video on a step by step of bundling? I've watched one of your shows live where I saw this in action but could you break it down on the behind the scenes for a seller?
Thanks!! I definitely can, and I've had some questions on that topic recently so I will add that to the top of my requests list to get to!! As a quick verbal recap of what it looks like I'm basically taking requests throughout the show as I'm showing books and every time someone wants a book if they're the only one requesting it, I will put it into a pile for them throughout the show after they've built their pile and we're done and ready to cash everyone out, I will take their entire pile and create one listing with a set price and weight for them to purchase
@@resellmaven That makes a lot of sense, especially after you explained everything with the transaction fees! Would you recommend this style of transaction to a seller who is just starting? My only concern is that the buyers may leave the show before checking out and leaves you with a stack of books with maybe no owner?
I do recommend it as at least an option, you can start off with whatever makes you thr most comfortable but offering bundles if you have the inventory is a great option and a lot of buyers appreciate that. As far as the concern of people leaving piles, I have worked very hard to make that a standard in my show that people cash out when it's time to cash out, or they utilize my hold system that I offer. But I have definitely had to put my foot down with explaining to people that they can't just leave their pile and expect it to be there the next show, or if someone that I've never seen before creates a pile and just leaves I will block them to avoid that type of buyer behavior.
Would you recommend starting a tiktok and just posting vids about the new inventory your picking up, maybe a tiktok as well and have your whatnot linked?
Hey, 100%, that is a great strategy! I have one but I haven't transitioned it over yet to books and what I do, I want tongetbon there but I've just got other things taking my time at the moment
Thanks for the reply! Also when setting up a show for books i didnt see media mail as an option? Im in the book catagory, will it just default to priority and ground advantage?
As long as you are in the book category and have your items listed as books (or media) then it will automatically default to media mail. From time to time some items will ship as ground or priority but it's usually cheaper and so it's no big deal, the buyer is still paying an appropriate amount for their shipping. As long as you don't chose flat rate you will be good to go
Hey! I can definitely discuss more in depth about going live, are you looking for more of the setup of a show or actually being live? As far as working off of a computer, I highly recommend using a phone to stream. You can still view comment and run auctions, Giveaways or list items via the computer, but I do not have any tips on running your show through the computer solely.
@@resellmaven , thank you for your response. I did a couple of shows an over a year ago and had trouble getting the set up correct. I would love any info. You are very helpful and I appreciate your videos. I’m in my 60’s so I like step by step in technology . Thanks so much.
For sure, I can definitely do a step by step video with actually setting up a show. It's so easy once you get it done once or twice but it is different so I totally understand! I will add that to my requests list for future video, there is so much to cover on Whatnot topics 😅
Finally! A video with the most recent info! As you said, things change almost daily on WN! I've watched so many older vids & have learned quite a bit, but your vids have been the most informative. EVEN Whatnot needs to update their stuff LOL! I've been trying to gather the nerves & inventory (that I already had) to schedule my first show. 😬 One Question that I do have is that I've seen a lot of sellers have their show inventory listed in general blocks named by the weight? Could you explain why? Also, your bundles...they must cost quite a bit to ship? Thank you so much! 🙃 Cherie/brb_btq (The brb Boutique)
Hey Cherie! So glad you enjoyed video and updated information! I've seen so many people hesistant to get started bc they just have questions they need answered, it's a different platform than we are used to with the live component but it's so fun and I highly encourage people to give it a try. So the items in the auction tab listed by weight are to help the buyer get the best shipping cost possible. Since media mail rates increase at every lb, if someone buys a book that is only 4-7oz and then bids on another book that is also 4-7 oz, they will have free shipping on that second book. This is opposed to running everything at just 1lb and the buyer paying more than they should for the package. As far as shipping goes, it is by media mail which is quite fairly priced compared to priority, so the shipping costs even for bundles are not too bad. As an example a pile of books that weighs roughly 10-12lbs would be roughly $9-$12 which is standard media mail rates. Thanks for watching!!

Thanks for doing these videos. Can you please add the link to the tripod and the camera holder. I don’t see it
Hello what tripod and camera attachment did u say u used? I don’t see the link. Ty
Type this into Google or amazon:
Nineigh Phone Tripod, 71" Tripod
You actually don't need the attachment piece bc I believe the Tripod comes with it now
Hi, should allow non verified buyers on my first stream? Thanks
Hey, I allow all buyers in my show and I've not had any issues with it
