Maybe it’s because I listen to metal a lot so that’s what I always play on drums but I actually find blast beats and crazy fills like that to be the easiest part of drumming. Timing and managing your tempo is much harder than just having a fast double kick imo

I’m 15 but 3 years ago I decided to go on a drum kit a week later I could already play 50% of nirvana songs cleanly was playing for about 5 months so after that I could play many songs including slipknot haven’t been on a kit since but If I can drum like I air drum ill slay a drum kit now better than I would’ve 3 years ago!
Bruh do you have a teacher? You need to get one and practice everyday at least one hour if you really want to get good. If you're a beginner focus on rudiments, limb independence, dynamics, technique and posture, as well as on the philosophical side of drumming like it's role in music, when and when not to play, styles of music etc. But most importantly, get a good instructor. Hope it helps.
10 years in this is realistic but even getting to “1 week of drumming” can take longer. As long as you’re having fun with the process and making it your own, then there’s nothing wrong with the pace you learn at :)
I believe the one year of drumming is over exaggerated. I played every day at least 6 hrs a day and never got that level. I didn't learn that level of stuff until I was at least three to four years in.

Then, I teached to a friend who did the intermediate between the one week lvl and the one month lvl in one day too, are we just aliens, I don’t think so, so I think this is pretty accurate for musicians, because when I say one day, actually, it’s like 1 or 2 hours
