Star Boy for absolutely no reason he must of had a vendetta against those rims. if he was 6’8 or bigger the whole stanchion would of been coming down with him
Kills me to know he was never the same after his injury. I can only appreciate that I watched him early on in his career. His athleticism will never be forgotten. This dude was something else, frfr
As a Chicagoan, I can vouch that this DRose lead Bulls team brought an electric charge to the city that we hadn’t had since 98. It made it even sweeter with him being OUR very own from the south side “Englewood”. What a time to be alive! He’s a legend in the city. Salute DRose!💪🏾
Jadarius Jones If Lin had the chance he could have been better. Rose was given the chance and look how he turned out, mvp and all-star. But lins career was cut short after melo came.
D-Rose was literally too explosive and hyper-athletic for his own body. It's like he's trying to actually jump out of his own skeleton whenever he plants and explodes off 2 feet.
Not gonna blame d rose for this but notice how on a lot of these he lands with one leg, that puts a lot of accumulative stress on his knees I think if he practiced on landing with two feet more he might not have gotten injured
@@aryan1985 only problem is the difficulty of giving him that many minutes. As much as I like him, don’t know if he could handle that much playing time without injury.
Makes me sad, but thanks for the memories. I was never into basketball in the same way after watching the injuries ruin Rose. Most enjoyable NBA memories for me ❤️
I feel like the way he landed on 1 foot consistently lead to his knee injuries. He would rarely land with both feet and you can see many examples in this vid where he lands 1 footed and stresses his knees. Thats a decent amount of force to take on with just one leg. For example look at the 1:00 mark. Watch how he lands on his left foot. He did this a lot throughout his prime.
I wasn't a fan of those Bulls teams during Rose's prime but as a basketball fan I am very sad that his career was decimated by injuries. This guy had potential for an all time career. I'm glad he is still balling but it's not what we envisioned for his career when he won MVP in his third year
Yeah man, whole video i was noticing how he lands, he kept landing oh his left foot...Im not a professional analytic but this kind of landings from that high jump can cause problmes
@Anal Jihad agreed, but unfortunately he's a subpar shooter and has a low basketball iq. Its like that in a lot of sports. Imagine if in the NFL, If uninjured Robert Griffin (RG3) could pass like Tom Brady. Westbrook and Derrick Rose rely on raw athleticism to be great players because they're below average shooters. That's why Derrick Rose's career took such a hit when he tore his ACL. If Westbrook has a ruptured Achilles, his career will take an enormous hit. Westbrook needs to just stop shooting the ball so much. If he brightened up and took 6 less shots per game, it would benefit the team.
D Rose pre injury was a monster. Sadly he will be forgotten and will be a what if player!! I remember people used to compare Russell Westbrook to him; before Westbrook was what we know him as. Rose was the future of the nba and if you do not agree then you just are too young to know.
Just imagine, if through luck, divine intervention, hard work, or whatever it may be, we see this again. We see him flourish. Win a championship, win an mvp, finals mvp. Just imagine if after everything there’s a happily ever after for Rose....
The way he lands it’s honestly a shock he didn’t blow out his knee earlier in his career, it’s not even fun to watch these highlights anymore knowing the toll they put on his body
if you can only imagine how strong d rose was before facing the prime bron and wade at that time that destructive injury we never had a chance to see that prime rose still one of my fav player after t mac.
D-Rose is very explosive. Beautiful dunks. His style of game is unique. The ball control, jump, velocity... Is incredible and beauty! In his hands the game look so easy... Hahahaha!
He was a master dunker... but also didn't know how to land properly... he landed with straight-legs almost every time... sometimes even with one leg -- over years and years of this likely had a huge influence on his injuries.
Does anybody else cringe everytime he lands from these dunks? 😬 He comes down so hard due to his height and hops. Glad I got to see his prime though in reel time. Man was robbed robbed by injuries. Him and Steph Curry may have met a couple times in the finals.
Damn the beat got me in my feelings. I wish I woulda appreciated what was happening. I'm glad he's doing good now but as a nba fan and a human being shits just sad man. most powerful and aesthetic dunker ever.
Powerful? Maybe. Shawn Kemp hated that rim though. Aestetic? Maybe. VC fans ain't hearing that though.
