Russell Westbrook III[1] (born November 12, 1988) is an American professional basketball player for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is a six-time NBA All-Star, and a two-time NBA All-Star Game Most Valuable Player (MVP), winning consecutive awards in 2015 and 2016. He is also a six-time All-NBA Team member and led the league in scoring in 2014-15 and 2016-17. In 2017, Westbrook became one of two players in NBA history to average a triple-double for a season, along with Oscar Robertson in 1962. He also set a record for the most triple-doubles in a season, with 42.[2] He was subsequently named the 2016-17 NBA Most Valuable Player.
Westbrook played college basketball for the UCLA Bruins and earned third-team all-conference honors in the Pac-10. He was selected with the fourth overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft by the Seattle SuperSonics, who then relocated to Oklahoma City six days later. Westbrook has represented the United States national team twice, winning gold medals in the 2010 FIBA World Championship and the 2012 Olympics.

One of the greatest ever in his prime. He's getting better every year and still got room to improve but he wasn't elite instantly. So for his career he's got no shot of passing Curry or any of the top15. Take John Stockton and Jason Kidd for example: Westbrook is arguably better now in his prime but those two guys were elite for about 15 years, you can't beat that by 5 elite years, no matter how ridiculous your season is. Most entertaining player in the league though, I often get up at 4:30 in the morning just to see him play

Curry entered the NBA in the 09-10 season, didn't explode until 12-13 and didn't become an All Star until 13-14, that's 5 seasons to get to All Star Level
Westbrook entered the NBA in the 08-09 season, exploded in 10-11, same season in which he became an all star, and has never looked back since, that's just 2 seasons to become an All Star, so basing ourselves on your argument, Westbrook has a better chance to be considered Top 10 than Curry because "he was elite quicker" than Stephen Curry.
Oh, and BTW, Stockton became an all star in 87-88, he entered in 84-85, that's 3 seasons, so same thing.

I've always been curious about the difference from westbrook and drose. Both have had some serious injuries dued to the reckless playing style (I guess) and both came back playing consistently. But drose had to slow down a lot whilst westbrook seems to have stayed as athletic as ever.
