Hi, this is the first version of the song. It was written about the murder, rape and kidnapping of over 700 civilians at an all night party called the Nova festival, the terrorists para-glided from the sky into the crowd like rain from the October sky and they killed most of them brutally and that`s where the imagery of October Rain came from. This is a performance in Tel Aviv last night in front of the families of the hostages and missing, that`s why it was so emotional for her.

These incredible two grabbed a carload of people (around 10 or 11 crammed into a tiny vehicle) and rescued them all. Then this brave young man, a hero, returned again and again to collect more people. Eventually, he too was murdered by the terrorists. Praying for all the hostages and their families. For the Bibas family. For Hersh and all the Americans. For Bipin from Nepal and all the non-Israelis. For gifted pianist Alon Ohel. For the elderly. For all the beautiful girls, who include beautiful Naama whose image has become as familiar to us as poor Shani Louk, whose body is finally resting in peace back in Israel. For every one. To me being wet since the October rain symbolizes the endless tears we shed eversince the big masacre we went through at Nova festival of music and the southern Kibbuzim, the trauma this nation is going through is unberable, from murdering thousands of innocent young people to rape, to kidnaps, to war in 3 directions and many soldiers being killed while protecting our small country. The changes:
- The melody.
- "Hours & hours & flowers" instead of "empowers" (a flower is the israeli military code name for a dead soldier (301 were murdered in the massacare).
- "Life is no game for the cowards" - I'm actually not sure but I assume she means the r@py terrorist who targeted civilians and elders and kids.
- "We got nothing to hide" instead of "I got.."
- "Take me home" instead of "take it all" (regarding the hostages)
- "NEVER AGAIN" - the meaning is obvious...
- "I'm still wet from this October rain"....... 😢
- The hebrew part was changed to:
"no need for big words / only prayers / even if it's hard to see / You (God) alway leave a little light for me" - but in this original version she says:
"There's no air to breath / there's no space / there's no me (hebrew slang for when you're emotionally crushed) from one day to the next (as in, it gets worse daily) / they are all good kids, every single one".

Just google the two songs by title and you're bound to find not just the contrast, but the reasoning behind them censoring the song. Its ridiculous. To Eurovision, A Jewish Israeli Woman saying "Promise me Never Again," "Writers of History," "Flowers" and actually having the verse in Hebrew talk about kids getting gunned down at the Nova Rave, instead of roundabout language asking for prayers for hope, are "Too Political." Even in the wake of the deadliest Massacre of Jews since The Holocaust.
Honest to G-d truth? They knew "October Rain" would win in it's original version, because the other entries are shallow AF by comparison, so they sandbagged it to avoid pissing off the protestors to the point where they felt like burning Malmo to the ground. They completely disgraced themselves on the grounds of Eden and Israel just being in this year. There is a ridiculous amount of politically motivated decisions this year. And G-d Forbid you should let someone challenge the narrative and Humanize Israelis and Jews everywhere. Nay, show why the war in Gaza isn't a Genocide, but a justified response to an attempted one. Eden's song is literally changing people's minds about Israel and the conflict, once they had the context to "Hurricane." "October Rain," takes it head on and the organizers were terrified of violent backlash. They caved to bullying and propaganda instead of letting someone who just lost people she cared about to wanton violence, express themselves through their art. Just because of who she is and where she comes from.

This version is more about contemplation and a very deep state of grief and mourning.
It feels more like a"Kaddish" ( the Jewish funeral ceremony) then anything else.
