I ran Amazon from the load boards for all of 2020, 2021, and 2022, as an owner/operator. The first two years were fantastic, very light loads with empty return trailers. If there were no empty trailers available you were bobtailed back to your start point. I averaged $10,000 a week gross, between 6,000 to 6,500 net per week. In June 2022 Amazon cut pay rates by over 50%. I was able to finish out the year and payoff my Peterbilt. I pulled local loads for January 2023, and also 13 hour blocks. But due to pay cuts I ran a deficit and stopped pulling loads PERIOD! For ten months my truck has Been parked in my driveway.
