I handled both at a local shop. The big one is a beast and felt super capable in the hand. But I think I’d be unhappy pocketing it every day since it would be an EDC for me and not a work knife. If I need to reach for a big blade I’ll just grab my Esee 6. I went with the mini. Super strong and capable in a pocket friendly package. Not as much of a beast as the full size but still a beast and one you won’t get tired of carrying all the time. I think the mini paired with a big fixed blade is the move. A big knife for big tasks, and a small tank of a folder for everything else. I feel a lot more confidence with it than the bugout as much as I love the bugout.
Thanks. Helpful comparison & review. I decided to get the old D2 model. I saw reviews criticizing new cru wear for having weak springs making it possible to disengage knife lock under tough use.
Awesome video!! Very informative. Looking to get one of these knives. If you could only have one, mini or regular, what would you choose?? I’m going to EDC it.. But if you could only have one what size would you get?? Thanks
I have both, and I carry the mini daily. It really just depends what size of knife you want to carry all day. They’re both fantastic knives. I have the full size just to have it, lol
The OG is, IMO, head and shoulders a better knife that the lighter one in every respect except the blade steel. The jury is still out on the Cruwear. I may come to live it as my favorite steel. IF it becomes my favored steel, then the new version will become the equal to the OG. But I don’t think it will ever be able to surpass it. BENCHMADE knocked it out of the park and into next week with the original Adamas. The new ones is great, though. So far. OBTW, I regularly carry the OG Adamas in an office setting. Admittedly it is an office where I can wear jeans.
Carried original adamas 275 for over 5 years still to day but new one disappointed me and wont be buying it cause they weakened the frame. The reason I brought it is for it's strength. Thinner frame go without them upgrading the steel make it easier for the blade stop pin to egghole the frame and for the axis lock bar to damage the frame. This kind of damage can happen from using my adamas as mini-machete in pinch, my blade stop pin and lock bar has multiple flat spots on it the blade stop pin/bar steel's trash.
Gen 1 frame and blade is thicker and stronger but gen 2 has better blade steel that would hold edge better. But old D2 is already so good, just know this, it doesn't like fine honed edge toothy coarse sharpen edge is better.

Nice collection Bro! IMO, The Benchmade Adamas is the G.O.A.T.!!!
My wife got me the burgundy handled limited edition mini adamas for my 40th birthday. I love it! Beautiful knife and is dang near perfect.
The adammas is such a cool design! I'm hoping to get a mini this year. Great video 👍
I love the Adamas, I have the D2 version, it’s a chunker knife and I like that. :)

Wow you have four and they all looked amazing I would love to get my hands on one looks like the perfect workhorse knife
More cutting. Love seeing the old well use knife. When the others get some wear make a new video
Many people say light spine wacks cause the lock to fail on the Adamas. Is that true??

How did u get a black handle and tan blade on the auto ?
Which is better to your mind? 1 gen or 2?
