I love the sound Prism Stars makes lol.
My favorite
Man, l loved doing Lightning tiger blade with Lloyd and Kratos. I loved hearing "Follow it up!"
For me it was always
"Follow it up!"
"CROSS THRUST!"
...but I get the feeling :'D
After playing this game for years I was today years old when I learned about half of these Unison Artes. I will try some of these out. Tho I most likely will stick with Prism Star, that is my favorite one.
Some of them are only in the ps2/ps3 version.
Ifkr!!! Ahahah, and I agree, the Prism Stars was definitely my favorite as well! *sigh* The good ol’ days on the ‘Cube lolol!
Although I think my NEW fav’s might have to be a tie with Kratos/Raine’s Gospel, Sheena/Raine’s Purgatory Seal, or Colette/Lloyd’s Stardust Rain. Ahahah so many cool ones I’ve never seen before :D
Agh forgot about Genis/Zelos’ Rock Pillar :D lmaaoooo!!!!!
As I assume cross thrust is one of the first U. Artes people discover in this game, I appreciate it being at the end :')
I like how symphonia started the whole Artes combinations
It started from eternia I think
Yeah there were 4 Team Skills in Tales of Eternia / Destiny 2 on PS1.
I mean you could get combinations of two artes all the way back in phantasia if you mastered them
prism star hits hard
1:00 genis just vibing in the background 🤣
Gotta love pelting the enemy with twinkle stars
Prism Stars and Wyrm Wrath were the only ones I bothered to memorize when I was little due to wanting to make that 100 hit combo... little did the child me knew there were more simpler ways to do that.
haahahah I feel you. You use Lloyd or Sheena and spam Colette and Presea with the shortcuts and you got the 100 combo in one minute. Still in some boss fights Prism Stars is lovely
I could've sworn Prism Stars was longer than that.
because the GCN version lagged HARD when using that move
The GCN chugged when using it LOL
Thanks for this video!
Some of these combos I couldn't pull off when I played the game myself!
Gamecube version didn't have most of the good unisons. Prism Stars and Stardust Rain were the best ones.
I wish there was more to it than that but i like to think the mechanic survived and was reimplemented into the later Tales games. Imagine if ToS has as many unison attacks as Tales of Xillia had with combo artes. And imagine if you weren't limited to just one combination and one enemy. ToS peak
Thank you for making this
Thank you :D This game truly is a masterpiece
Sure 30fps is superior lmao
@@symphoniaenjoyer It's a shame that DotNW is so bad, honestly. They tried too much to be more modern that they turned out changing the game too much and making the voice lines cringy and physically painful to listen to.
In all honesty, if they just did the exact same game with a different story and characters, I'd be just as happy. I don't think that ToS "looks" old, and even if, who cares?
@@darkbum1510 same dude. I'm completely in love with this game even to this day after more than 7 years. Somedays i wish they'd make a game with this graphics even jajajaja or at least with Vesperia's graphics. But I guess Tales of ain coming back to what it once was
@@symphoniaenjoyer My story with ToS is quite funny, actually.
Back in the day, my parents got me a Nintendo GameCube for Christmas, it was a used one off of eBay [Nothing against eBay or buying used goods, it's a money saver like nothing else!]. It had quite a few games, Mario Kart DoubleDash!!, NFS Most Wanted, Wallace & Gromit: Project Zoo and Madagascar [and probably some more that I just forgot], and in the GameCube's DVD slot it had the first disc of ToS. You can imagine how fascinated I was with the game. And how my chin dropped in disbelief when it said "Put in Disc 2, dummy".
Later I bought the game, used, and I still have it, but now I'm playing it on Dolphin [I also have it on Steam, but with that I can't use the GC controller, so fuck it]
Honestly, if it were possible to create a Romhack of that game, that pretty much adapts the story of DotNW into the old ToS engine, that'd be a thing...
4:15 🕺💃 Archwind
Prism Stars was the only one most people could find, including me, it seems. It's no surprise though. Obviously most would pick Genis' strongest spell, and Raine's Ray.
Agreed. I'm currently replaying the game again and I just went T branch with both of them for that Unison Attack, even if I prefer their S Spells. That UA is amazing and it combos amazing
6:38 Missed opportunity for this attack to be called, "Father, Son Hurricane Thrust."
because that would spoil the game early in.
@@5onic I figured that, so a solution would be to have this specific move be unlockable once it is revealed that Kratos is Lloyd's father and if Kratos joins the team again if certain actions are taken for this to happen.
@@sperryyoungerjr.3985 .......There's also the fact that you can perform that compound unison attack using Zelos as well, so having it be a "father and son" attack wouldn't make any sense in that case
@@matthewkuscienko4616 Then it could be a Lloyd and Kratos exclusive name for the unison attack.
@@sperryyoungerjr.3985.......You're still missing the point. Generally speaking, if 2 characters have access to the same arte, then they both can use it for a possible unison attack combo; cross thrust uses artes from the sonic thrust line (which also includes super sonic thrust and hurricane thrust), and Zelos, being more or less a clone of Kratos, can also use those artes. Therefore, naming it a father and son combo would exclude Zelos from being able to participate in it when there's really no reason why he shouldn't be. Each unison combo shown in this video only showed one combination of characters, and only one possible arte that can be used to perform them, with the only exception I can think of (where only one arte can be used by each character) is gospel.
Wyrm Wrath my favorite Unison Arte by far.
Gungnir tho
@@DnVFMVs it's a single hit Light elemental attack, Wyrm Wrath is a multiple hit non elemental attack, much better in most situations. Why go for Gungnir when you can go for Gospel which is stronger and hits multiple times?
@@chimeratcg07 i agree, but Gungnir is cool as hell, visually at least
I always go for Gospel or Wyrm Wrath tho
STARDUST RAIN OR MJOLLNIR
Gospel/Prism Star/Purgatory Seal > EVERYTHING else (unless Light enemy)
*****HEAVY Honorable Mentions: Wyrm Wrath/Rock Pillar/Arc Wind/L. Punishment/Innocent Edge*****
cross thrust is still my favorite visually because it reminds me of X-Cut from chrono trigger
Man I never used one of these lol.
I had no idea this even existed. Though I don't remember making much use of Unison Attack tbh
Serve to break.enemies combo, save TP, reduce numbers easy and cause heavy Dmg, you must use and increase compound skills to L.unison to increase unison bar.
I never knew this was a thing.. and I Never pulled off a mystic arte I think the whole time I was playing...
3:34
Cress: *Pathetic*
My favourite are: Prism Stars, Mjollnir, Gungnir, Gospel, Innocent Edge, Purgatory Seal and Wyrm Wrath
We have basically the same favourites, good taste!
Prism Stars and Stardust Rain
What about genis? Indignation🎶🎶🎶🎶
That’s why I always go T tech with Genis. I love that power.
@@AkasukiShikiHollow hell yeah
I love how i didnt even experience half of these..
No joke..during my 80 hour playthrough,i only managed to find 5
they should remake this game
its weird how zelos, kratos and Lloyd dont have a art together especalliy as all 3 have sonic thrust.
You can't have both Zelos and Kratos in your party that's why
care to explain why?
@@evanharjanto2450 I don't want to be too spoilery so I'll just say it's because of the way the story goes. However there is only one point where you can potentially have both Kratos and Zelos in your team but only for one dungeon.
so even until the very last boss you still can't put kratos+zelos in a party?
@@evanharjanto2450 Nope
Is there any tip or clue ingame on what skills do compound techs?
most likely when you unlock it
I don't think that there is anything in the game that tells you which artes are used in which combinations, so you kind of have to figure it out on your own (or look up a guide online)
"hey, why not bring back original dubbers for extra content?"
the sound is fuckin low....
