Les meilleurs cavaliers du monde étaient au départ de la 5e édition du Grand Prix Gucci (barème A avec barrage, 1,60 m), point d'orgue des Gucci Paris Masters.
Ce sont Kevin Staut et Silvana HDC qui ont été les plus rapides dans le barrage. La jument vice-championne du monde par équipes (2010) et vice-championne d'Europe par équipes (2011) a montré qu'elle n'avait rien perdu de son talent, permettant à son cavalier de goûter à la joie d'une victoire « à domicile » devant un public enthousiaste !
Victorieux vendredi soir (Longines Speed Challenge) et samedi soir (Guerre des Sexes Longines) avec Bon Ami, le n°1 mondial Scott Brash a dû se contenter cette fois de la 2e place avec sa jument Ursula XII.
Le Néerlandais Marco Schröder est monté sur la 3e place du podium avec son étalon double vice-champion olympique (individuel et par équipes), London.
