Lies lies lies Never ending Assyrians and Armenians were supported Russian Empire It was deceiving them into establishing an independent homeland for each of them She was the one who supported them with weapons Not in defense of themselves Rather, in order to wage a civil war against Muslim citizens, and this is great stupidity on their part, how can they, when they are surrounded by Muslims on all sides, wage a civil war against Muslims? Then, due to this nature, the Balkan region witnessed a war of ethnic cleansing against the Muslim and Turkish populations in Serbia, Bulgaria, Macedonia, and Greece, in which millions of Muslims died. The number of people who died alone in the Balkans from the ethnic cleansing of Muslims is estimated at more than 5 million citizens The Armenians alone killed about 800,000 Turkish citizens They even burned residential neighborhoods with their residents. Turkey's reaction to them was harsh because of their actions, either transferring the Armenians and Assyrians to the south or exterminating the Muslim population in their areas.
Such a shame the Greek government hasnt recognised the Assyrian genocide when we suffered the same persecution for the exact same reasons, there is a monument in Athens but thats just it. I hope more people worldwide learn about these atrocities

I want to conclude by saying that people act and think differently from politicians.

Armenians and Turkish lived hundreds of years in Anatolia during Ottoman Empire time. I am from Erzincan Turkey which was armenian an turkish village. Turkish used to work with them. The Armenians collaborated with Russians to attach on Turks, armed by them. But it was quiet in the beginning. The turkish that used to work with armenians started to disappear. in small villages, they search and find out the bodies buried in the gardens or houses of theArmenians. This caused rage. Then systematically they were taken out the country. Killed as well. houses taken, golds stolen. There are also many Armenians that still live in Turkey but unfortunately they had to change their names, religions in some cases. My aunt is married to an Armenian guy. There are many artists and doctors, teachers etc in Turkey. Unlike armenians Kurdish people fought with Turkish. But then they requested for land and their own country as promised to them before. Then the internal war started between Kurdish and Turkish.

They had in the minimum 150,000 Greek men out of which in 9 months more than 140,000 had died of tortures, shootings and famine, a rate of death approaching 95%, far greater than German concentration camps of WWII. In World War I, Christians betrayed their motherland and the Ottoman Empire, attacking Muslim soldiers from behind. Otherwise, Assyrians and Armenians lived under the rule of Ottoman for 500 years. Do not declare your betrayal as genocide.
Bulgarian here. All Christians in the ottoman empire endured fates worse than death for centuries.. All this was conducted with the knowledge and support of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and British Empire. And Germany of course. They even romanticized the ottoman empire, most castles in western Europe would have a room decorated in a made up "ottoman" style. Many massacres went undocumented in Bulgaria and in some cases foreign reporters would witness the aftermath and publish articles and that is how the world would find out about it.(see Januarius Aloysius MacGahan) Nowadays we can sadly see videos of the war zones and witness unimaginable brutality to innocent civilians and small children and I can't help but imagine that that is the kind of horrors my ancestors fled from. May these souls rest in peace
And before that, a few centuries, Mongols were the bane of Turkish nomads, who massacred thousands of them and pushed them from central Asia into Anatolia and Byzantine empire territories. All these Turkish nomads wanted was peace which Mongols denied them. The birth of the Ottoman empire was the result of these brutal massacres and the resistance that followed. It's tragic that once the empire was established, all that was forgotten and after the era of the Mongols, Ottoman empire became the new oppressors of other people in it.

Bad legislation, greed, racism, indifference or even incompetence would be more accurate in most of these cases. Theres a lot of dispute around calling these things genocide. African genocide is by and large to be blacks killing blacks, like the Rwanda genocide or the Darfur genocide for examples. Once you know about the genocides committed in the 20th century, the promise of governments to protect their citizens and demand the citizenry turn in their weapons start to sound a lot more sinister. Hand in your ability to fight back and we’ll keep you safe is a deal so raw and missing historical context it’s amazing. The two Assyrian cities that managed to repel the ottomans were left alone. Those who complied were murdered. It’s not hard to draw the necessary lessons from that.
Context matters. You're talking about times and places where ethnic minorities suffering active campaigns of persecution and extermination were being disarmed under totalitarian ethno nationalist regimes. It would be quite different in a scenario where an ethno nationalist majority ethnic group who considered their right to persecute minorities "oppression" were to be disarmed in a democratic society. One of these scenarios enables a genocide, the other prevents it.

As mono one needs a handgun, and certainly not a semi automatic-the purpose of which is to kill humans-they are banned. People who are not armed to kill their neighbours are less violent overall. Contrast the murder, vpcrime, violence stats of a nation like the USA against its peer nations that control gun ownership better-like UK, NZ, AUS, Canada. In all of these nations there is much less crime and violence, and democracy is stronger than it is in the United States where we may eight days away from the extinction of democracy and the rule of law. Trump has said repeatedly that, as Commander in Chief he will use the US armed forces against his opponents. I expect that the 33% of US households which own guns-a LOT of guns-have it in their heads that they will overcome B1bombers, tanks, artillery, trained combat teams. Personally, I think your chances are better with democracy and the rule of law. You do you, I guess.

I am ashamed and feel disappointed after learning about the Armenian genocide. I was told by my parents that first, I am a human being and must respect all human beings regardless of their faith, color, culture, or creed. It is not acceptable in any form and anywhere. Hope peace prevails one day, and this world would be a better place to live, work, and support each other like we do here in America. Unfortunately, we can't undo the history, but we can learn from why and what happened in the past. A Pakistani American
I had a classmate in Germany who was descendent from Assyrians who had fled to Iraq after the genocide, but then in the 1990s had to flee to Germany to avoid the Saddam Hussein regime as Assyrian Christians.
I have the greatest sympathy for these Assyrians and Armenians. My people also have experienced similar treatment more than once but their sufferings were swept under the rug for Geopolitical and Ethno/Racial reasons and hardly anyone in America knows about it. I am glad that your are keeping the memories of those who perished alive by making these videos. They are not just nameless faces, but people like you and me and the viewers who deserve the rights to live in this often beautiful world of ours.

Thank you for addressing the important topic of the Assyrian genocide. As indigenous Mesopotamians, our community has endured immense suffering as a direct consequence of our religious beliefs and cultural heritage. Throughout history, Assyrians have faced persecution and targeted violence, resulting in significant loss of life, displacement, and the erosion of our ancestral traditions. It is crucial to shed light on these historical injustices and ensure that the memory of the Assyrian genocide is preserved for future generations. During this dark period, countless Assyrians were subjected to brutal acts of violence, including massacres, forced conversions, and forced deportations. Entire Assyrian villages were destroyed, leaving behind a legacy of pain, trauma, and a fragmented diaspora that continues to affect our community to this day. Thank you once again for bringing attention to the Assyrian genocide.
My father is Assyrian. My great grandfather on my dad's side was forced to watch his father get his head chopped off during Seyfo. He was a slave for 10 years and managed to escape while on the way to the slave market in Iraq. His sisters were pre-teens and forced to marry with older Ottoman men.
Imagine the horror and suffering those people had to go through, watching members of your family executed before you or your mother and sisters raped and shot to death. All those atrocities, it's complete horror. And still, these terrible things continued to happen in many countries after and until NOW!. Most people will NEVER learn and support all kinds of war against, mostly, innocent civilians( women, children, babies). You just CAN'T justify any killing or murder on innocent civilians! Today we can ask ourselves: Who benefits from all of these crimes against humanity? The war-mongers behind the scenes and who stay safe in their Government-buildings, the Bankers who earn billions of dollars from weaponry , loans, etc.
It's s shame that countries refuse to learn about their gruesome past. As a German I know about the importance to know about the atrocities that were committed not only during the colonial times but especially during the reign of the Nazis. And I can assure you schools teach a lot about it. And there us nothing that glorifies this time
Thank you for covering this. My grandma was from Ardishai and they ran for their lives as children to escape. They described it just as Inhumane and ruthless as you did.
I’m a devout, Roman Catholic I do have a document that the pope at that time in Rome asked for funds to help the Assyrians and Armenians were being slaughtered. It’s a 1920 document. It’s actually in French, but the Catholic hierarchy was trying to help the peoples in those countries. And I do agree that even today turkey still does not acknowledge the atrocities that were done. I heard a saying with lies Islam dies.
Historically the Ottoman empire was our biggest (outside) threat to the Christian civilization. Many even thought the Antichrist would come from them. Actually, even many Jews to this day think the so called Gog refers to a leader of the remnant of the Ottomans.

As a Turkish person, I didn't know that. What a shame. I saw on news some Assyrians coming back to their original land. I hope we will learn from the past to build good relationships under a civilized, modern, and most importantly friendly stage. We must be sad not because Assyrians, Armenians, Greeks, or Turks massacred, but because human beings have been slayed.
My family was from Antioch when it was part of Syria in Northwest Syrian then annexed by Turkey and the name of Antioch was changed to Hatai. For Turkey, any Christian particularly orthodox whether Greek, Antiochian, Assyrian or Armenian was considered a potential ally to the orthodox Russia and was exterminated. My grand parents fled and were part of the death marches. This genocide was heavily religious. This mentality is still prevalent in the Turkish government mentality. The Ottoman Kalifate is still a goal.

I have met many Assyrians here in Israel but none of them ever mentioned any of this. I often wondered why they seemed to hate Muslims so much , this explains a lot but I wonder why they never mentioned this? I had no idea.
I live in Israel as well. It's very hard to find here old churches dating from before the Ottoman rule that were not vandalized. They usually have the faces of saints erased... And also even today I went to visit some ruins of an ancient place built by the Hospitaler Order in 1100 AC and the signpost explaining things about the Order hat been vandalized, pretty much by a muslim I think, since certain word had been scratched out both in English, Hebrew and Arabic. And there's a muslim graveyard in there now.

Everywhere where muslims ruled, they committed unimaginable violence and barbaric practices to subjugate the locals. In India, we somehow still survived, but the undivided Indian peninsula didn't. In Iraqi Kurdistan, they some Assyrians are allies of PDK (which is unironically racist against them) and PUK (which is cold or uncaring at best) or fall victim to lies of the Shia-dominated Iraqi parliament. In Syria, half of them support FSA, the others support SAA, and a part supports SDF (all of which aren't that friendly or benevolent to their identity as one is Islamist, the other is Arab-Nationalist, and the third is Commie) In Turkey, let's see... Most of the people on my mom's side of the family were murdered. They were Greek. They weren't taking up arms against anyone. They were just Christian, which meant they had to die. Instead of calling it an Armenian Genocide, it ought to be called a Christian Genocide, because everyone Christian--Armenians, Assyrians, and Greeks--was targeted. The Armenians were hit the hardest, but they weren't the only ones targeted.
My great grandparents were Armenian Genocide survivors. The reason it’s called the Armenian, Greek and Assyrian genocides are because it’s not solely theologically motivated. We were targeted for a multitude of reasons-ethnicity, culture, religion, language, basically for not being Turks. We shouldn’t change the name. We should instead teach all three, together.
Christians are still being murdered today. Thousands every year. Many of them in African countries my Muslim radicals. It seems in this day and age, no one would still be doing these things to anyone based their chosen faith...but it continues😢
Didn't all 3 happened at different times and triggered by different events. You also know that this is a lie. It was also written in the American, British, French and Russian military and diplomatic reports of that time that this was an Armenian lie. Even though these countries were at war with the Ottomans, they wrote in their reports about the Massacre and Genocide committed by Armenian Gangs against Muslim Civilians. In the reports, they stated that the atrocities committed against the Muslim People were very bad. If the Genocide had been committed against the Armenians, there would not have been 1.2 Million Armenian citizens who immigrated to America, France, Lebanon and Argentina at that time. There are many Official Documents that Armenians committed genocide and massacre against Muslims, but there is no Document that genocide was committed against Armenians. There are only lies.

As a Moroccan, I thank God and my grandfathers who defeated the Ottomans in battle and never let them commit these types of atrocities to us. I also read somewhere about the harsh treatment they treated the Algerians and the Tunisians. And they did it under the name of Islam, and Islam forbade its followers to not even harm a tree in wartime.
I didn't know ANYTHING about this. Never even heard a vague whisper.. wow. I did hear about Assyrian genocide like a 1000years ago but not this recent? It should absolutely be acknowledged, no question about it
This is because the people were living in very inaccessible areas and were completely independent (i.e. not accounted for in any government's census) until the 20th century. Dr Asahel Grant visited them in 1840 and wrote a book after which the attention of the world was piqued and sent missionaries of all faiths to Urmi. This roused the suspicion and envy of the Ottoman Turks who feared a Christian coalition against them would be raised among the Assyrians/Nestorians and their Armenian, Russian and Greek fellow Christians.

The Greek Genocide refers to the systematic extermination, forced deportation, and cultural destruction of the Greek population within the Ottoman Empire during and after World War I. It occurred alongside the Armenian and Assyrian genocides, as part of a broader campaign to eliminate Christian minorities within the collapsing Ottoman state. Key Elements of the Greek Genocide: Timeline: The Greek Genocide occurred primarily between 1913 and 1923, though the most intense period was during World War I (1914-1918) and its aftermath. Victims: The victims were predominantly ethnic Greeks living in Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey), Eastern Thrace, and the Pontus region along the Black Sea coast. Most were Orthodox Christians. Regions Affected: Pontus (on the Black Sea coast): The Pontic Greeks were heavily targeted. Asia Minor (Western Anatolia): Greek communities had been living in these regions for millennia. Eastern Thrace (European Turkey): Greeks were also targeted in areas close to the Greek border. Methods: Mass Killings: Large-scale massacres were carried out by Ottoman forces and paramilitary groups. Many Greeks were murdered in their villages, while others were executed in organized mass killings. Deportations: Many Greeks were subjected to forced death marches to the interior of Anatolia, where they died from starvation, exposure, and disease. Confiscation of Property: Greek homes, churches, and businesses were confiscated or destroyed, effectively erasing Greek presence from many areas. Forced Conversions and Abductions: Some Greeks were forced to convert to Islam, and many children were abducted and raised as Muslims. Casualties: Estimates of the number of Greeks killed vary, but most scholars place the death toll between 300,000 and 750,000. Thousands of others were displaced, leading to a mass exodus to Greece, Europe, and the Americas. Motivations: The genocide was part of the broader Turkification policy of the Young Turks, who aimed to create a homogeneous Turkish-Muslim state out of the multi-ethnic Ottoman Empire. Greek communities were seen as a threat, both because of their Christian identity and because of their perceived alignment with Greece, which was a rival to the Ottoman Empire. International Response: At the time, there was limited international intervention to stop the genocide, though there were reports from missionaries, diplomats, and journalists documenting the atrocities. The post-war Treaty of Lausanne (1923) formalized a population exchange between Greece and Turkey, with surviving Greek populations forcibly relocated to Greece, and Muslims in Greece relocated to Turkey. This effectively ended the centuries-long presence of Greeks in Asia Minor. Recognition: The Greek Genocide is not as widely recognized as the Armenian Genocide, though in recent years, Greece, Cyprus, and some scholars have advocated for greater international acknowledgment. Commemorative events are held by Greek communities around the world, especially focusing on the Pontic Greek community, which was one of the hardest-hit groups. Legacy: The Greek Genocide is part of the broader tragedy of Christian minorities in the Ottoman Empire during and after World War I. It remains a critical historical issue for Greek communities, particularly the descendants of survivors who fled to Greece and other countries. The genocide also had lasting demographic effects on the region, as it significantly reduced the Christian population of Anatolia and contributed to the eventual establishment of the modern Turkish Republic, which was more ethnically and religiously homogeneous than the multi-ethnic Ottoman Empire.
Turkey is one of these countries that, instead of a history, they have a criminal record.

Never ending Assyrians and Armenians were supported
Russian Empire
It was deceiving them into establishing an independent homeland for each of them
She was the one who supported them with weapons
Not in defense of themselves
Rather, in order to wage a civil war against Muslim citizens, and this is great stupidity on their part, how can they, when they are surrounded by Muslims on all sides, wage a civil war against Muslims?
Then, due to this nature, the Balkan region witnessed a war of ethnic cleansing against the Muslim and Turkish populations in Serbia, Bulgaria, Macedonia, and Greece, in which millions of Muslims died.
The number of people who died alone in the Balkans from the ethnic cleansing of Muslims is estimated at more than 5 million citizens
The Armenians alone killed about 800,000 Turkish citizens
They even burned residential neighborhoods with their residents.

They had in the minimum 150,000 Greek men out of which in 9 months more than 140,000 had died of tortures, shootings and famine, a rate of death approaching 95%, far greater than German concentration camps of WWII. Many massacres went undocumented in Bulgaria and in some cases foreign reporters would witness the aftermath and publish articles and that is how the world would find out about it.(see Januarius Aloysius MacGahan)
Nowadays we can sadly see videos of the war zones and witness unimaginable brutality to innocent civilians and small children and I can't help but imagine that that is the kind of horrors my ancestors fled from. May these souls rest in peace
And before that, a few centuries, Mongols were the bane of Turkish nomads,
who massacred thousands of them and pushed them from central Asia into Anatolia and Byzantine empire territories.
All these Turkish nomads wanted was peace which Mongols denied them.
The birth of the Ottoman empire was the result of these brutal massacres and the resistance that followed.

Mr. Yousif Bulus Isa Yaqo - family name ``Botany``
Everything mentioned in this video is 100% true.!
I have an audio recording recorded in 1979 of my grandfather, who was 74 years old this year.
He mentions in detail how he and his mother only survived and reached Dohuk-Iraq (Mesopotamia) in 1915 and then to Alqosh-Mosul and then to Karamlesh. His entire family killed by Turkish Gendarmerie, his father, brothers, sisters, paternal uncles, maternal uncle, and grandmother, and the Kurds stole his sister and kidnapped her In Dohuk from his mother, and they left him and his mother dragging barefoot to Mosul (Nineveh).
I hope you somehow turn this into modern-day recording as a back up.
I knew nothing about this today, but I understand that you are holding a piece of history that has to be saved.
I am sorry for what your family has gone through but you are here because they survived.

@@smallcube-zn2mm Genocide is a word used every time a group of people die these days. genocide is when a whole ethnic or religous group is murdered to wipe them out. Bad legislation, greed, racism, indifference or even incompetence would be more accurate in most of these cases. Theres a lot of dispute around calling these things genocide. For example the bengal famine was during WW2 and had a lot of causes. The Kenyan Mau Mau uprising was a long war supressing a rebellion. African genocide is by and large to be blacks killing blacks, like the Rwanda genocide or the Darfur genocide for examples. The aborgines certainly had some issues but I understand the complaints relate to the Australian (not British) government over the last 100 years. The same with the american indians, the claims I have heard people make relate to the US government not the British. I live in a former British colony which like nearly ever other one has a chequered history dealing with the often troublesome & blood thirsty natives but its acknowledged and not denied like what the Turks do. Even in Russia the great purge is well known.

Or, you can vote against fascists like Trump.
In many countries we choose to limit gun ownership. Those who need long guns for hunting, ranching, farming, trapping are welcome to register and own them.

Cool story bro.
Dreadful....terrible things happened.

Yeah victim mentality ist real! You´re right the world should know the whole history not without context. You tell the story from REACTION to the ACTION: "The Armenians collaborated with Russians to attach on Turks, armed by them. But it was quiet in the beginning. The turkish that used to work with armenians started to disappear. in small villages, they search and find out the bodies buried in the gardens or houses of theArmenians. This caused rage. Then systematically they were taken out the country. "
Exactly, and it's being ramped up more and more everyday
You know when the crusaders came to the Middle East, they only saw brown people and killed all them. Jewish, Christian, Muslim… they don’t talk that up do they?
I grew up in an area with a high Greek population. So I grew up hearing stories of the Greek Genocide. The Turks were absolutely brutal and merciless, as well as deceptive to the Greeks, Assyrians, and Armenians!
You hear only about the people Turkey killed but you never hear about the people turkey spared. the reason Greece still exists today is because Turkey was merciful. Turks are great warriors and they could of made the entire world turkic if they wished to but they didn't

💐I wish you all the best.
Turks had genocides against absolutly every nation surrounding them. At least attempted it.
Too true! The Evil 😈 fascist ideology is still being fought up to now.
Christians are still being murdered today. Thousands every year. Many of them in African countries my Muslim radicals. It seems in this day and age, no one would still be doing these things to anyone based their chosen faith...but it continues😢
Didn't all 3 happened at different times and triggered by different events. They Armenian and Assyrian are similar motives due to xenophobia towards non Turks but Greek had strong geo political motives behind it and had 2 nations states fighting and kicking out nationals from the other state. Assyrian and Armenian were citzens of the Ottoman empire and were more vulerable to such attacks
Oh well historic documents shows how your ancestors backstabbed the ottomans when we were at our most difficult times. So we had to take some action, and believe me if your ancestors would do the same thing to britain or america or soviet russia, their population would have been exterminated without any consequence.
Only Armenia, Germany, France and Sweden officially recognize this.
Not only them. But only three countries deny it. Pakistan and the Turks (Turkey/Azerbaijan)

I am Armenia from California, have some Assyrian friends and Im glad you made a great video about the pain that they have gone through and how forgotten it is. Seems like the Turks are still getting away with it.

Key Elements of the Greek Genocide:
Timeline: The Greek Genocide occurred primarily between 1913 and 1923, though the most intense period was during World War I (1914-1918) and its aftermath.
Victims: The victims were predominantly ethnic Greeks living in Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey), Eastern Thrace, and the Pontus region along the Black Sea coast. Most were Orthodox Christians.
Regions Affected:
Pontus (on the Black Sea coast): The Pontic Greeks were heavily targeted.
Asia Minor (Western Anatolia): Greek communities had been living in these regions for millennia.
Eastern Thrace (European Turkey): Greeks were also targeted in areas close to the Greek border.
Methods:
Mass Killings: Large-scale massacres were carried out by Ottoman forces and paramilitary groups.
Casualties:
Estimates of the number of Greeks killed vary, but most scholars place the death toll between 300,000 and 750,000.
Thousands of others were displaced, leading to a mass exodus to Greece, Europe, and the Americas.
Motivations:
The genocide was part of the broader Turkification policy of the Young Turks, who aimed to create a homogeneous Turkish-Muslim state out of the multi-ethnic Ottoman Empire.
Greek communities were seen as a threat, both because of their Christian identity and because of their perceived alignment with Greece, which was a rival to the Ottoman Empire.
International Response:
At the time, there was limited international intervention to stop the genocide, though there were reports from missionaries, diplomats, and journalists documenting the atrocities.
Recognition:
The Greek Genocide is not as widely recognized as the Armenian Genocide, though in recent years, Greece, Cyprus, and some scholars have advocated for greater international acknowledgment.
Commemorative events are held by Greek communities around the world, especially focusing on the Pontic Greek community, which was one of the hardest-hit groups.
Legacy:
The Greek Genocide is part of the broader tragedy of Christian minorities in the Ottoman Empire during and after World War I.
