Chistine Tango my ex wife has just got a blue crested amazon . and we are waiting for him to become more settled in his new home so he will also talk n sing hopefully . in the meantime we play you're you tube videos for him which he absolutely goes crazy for . cheers ..
Too cute! My blue front waits until he thinks no one is around so he can practice new words and songs. But I wonder, do they all say "whatever" because almost every blue front I have seen that talks says that. Mine says it quite often.
My Lilly is quiet until I set down at the puter then she just sits and waits for me to bring up Audie then you can't shut her up. She doesn't talk to us much but really opens for Audie.

yes a good diet will give any bird his beautiful colors, like fresh veggies and fruits in the morning, and healthy pellets in the evening with not to much fat content. Not most of the junk they sell in pet stores. Also being outside helps the colors brighten
Dude the Amazon that I take care of only says like 2 words but as soon as I pull up miss Lilly Ann and audi Murphy he is finally making different attempts with mimics and I'm so happy
@gitrdonecg Hello! Audi will speak on her cage and out of her cage on my arm or where ever. It takes a trusting relationship and the more you build the more they give back. Remember these birds were once wild, we have tamed them. For Audi we found out that she LOVES!!!! music and will respond to pretty much any music. She always joins in and adds her own renditions. Be patient with your bird and spends dozens of hours with them. They crave human interactions.
You rant about the horror of keeping orcas in captivity (I agree), then I see all these posts of your "pet" bird sitting on its cage performing for the camera....
So cruel to clip a birds wings, she clearly wants to get off the cage, and actually very dangerous as they can try to fly and hit their breast on a step or something. A breeder told me they had heard of this happening, it split the parrot's breast open and the parrot died.😢

i have a question - does your parrot talk when on your arm? and if so, how long does it take for a parrot to do that? my parrot gets quiet on my arm but talks a blue storm in her cage.

She’s named after the war hero Audi Murphy. We thought her to be a male when we adopted her. Lol we got her on Remembrance Day 2008.
