    Its AI, they have a bunch songs like this all over the internet, they sound retro but they are Al generated songs made more recently.

      @PopsieFunk  2 місяці тому +2

      @@stevendavis8957 it amazes me how many people are actually confused on the topic. The lyrics alone are a dead giveaway. There's no universe that this stuff would have been accepted in the 70's. Hell, even Rudy Ray Moore wasn't as dirty!
      With that said, my only contention is when people assume making A.I. music is a simple endeavor. In some ways, it's more difficult than actually making the music in the real world.
      With A.I., you are bound by the rules of the algorithm and are constantly seeking ways to work around the limitations. Whereas with real music, your talent, ability and determination is your only limitation.

    It can't be a 1974 funk song, he must had been years ahead! The mention of a 1974 released album named "Wheelin' and Dealin'" makes it more irritating. But the topping of it is a relationship to Frank Zappa! This can be A1 only!
    But All these lies aren't a good sign for the future music market!

    • @PopsieFunk
      @PopsieFunk  2 місяці тому +6

      @@jazz-soulfan9152 I'm going to do something I rarely ever do... break character...
      Listen, dude... this is all in good fun. For the first and only time, I will publicly state the obviously... yes, this is ALL A.I. generated music. I tease this all the time, but there it is in plain English.
      With that said, I write 100% of the lyrics, as well as mix and master every song I put out. Some folks might just auto generate a track based on a loose lyric structure. Not me.
      I decide the flow, tone and pitch, instruments used, song length, etc. before I ever even start mixing and editing.
      Once I have my destination, I structure the A.I. prompt as carefully as possible, so as to generate the best results. A.I. gets confused easily if you start trying to generate elaborate stuff like xylophone solos...
      From there, I usually generate around 50 individual samples per song, which is around 100 minutes of music. I then take those samples and piece together 3 to 8 minutes of music by cutting and splicing different segments from each sample.
      For example, one segment might have a vocal line that was delivered perfectly, but another segment might have a guitar solo that I want to use... so you gotta splice 'em. Which isn't so simple as copy and paste. You have to blend them carefully or they will sound disjointed.
      So yeah, the cat is officially out of the bag. I didn't think an official announcement was necessary when I started this channel. I assumed most people were in on the joke... apparently not.
      As for Frank Zappa being friends with Popsie Funk... Frank is my musical hero and I decided to link Frank to the fictitious "Popsie Funk" character purely for my own amusement. It is just a fun background story for Popsie.
      As for this type of music being out of genre for funk in 1974... maybe yes, maybe no. I have personally heard some really wild funk in that era. Frank himself was doing similar music as far back as "Hot Rats" in 1969. Herbie Hancock was also doing similar stuff in that era.
      I might as well also answer the other question I get all the time... am I an actual musician? Not a professional one, no. Music is purely a hobby for me. I play a little guitar and I'm not a half bad singer.
      Much like Frank, I am much more comfortable being considered a composer and a mixer/editor. That is essentially what I do on this channel... write, compose, mix, master and edit music... it just so happens that the music is generated by A.I. as opposed to real people.
      Sorry if this post came off somewhat dickish. I'm not mad or upset in the least... but I literally get questions every day about if Popsie is real or A.I. and I try to keep it fun and keep people guessing, but I finally decided a formal acknowledgement was in order.
      I don't mind the questions about whether Popsie is real or not, but it does get a bit old when people act like this channel is intentionally being deceitful or spreading lies. Not at all... as I said... it's all in good fun...

      Definitely - there's another account called "Peter Pepper" (no relation to the real artist Peter Pepper) that's all AI generated stuff like this. There's actually a couple of good tracks but most of the shit it's pumping out is pretty crappy. Really obviously auto-tune/AI vocal effect too, it's not great - soon more people will pick up on the trend and it'll go viral and then youtube will be flooded with "content creators" uploading tons of this garbagio, just watch

      @PopsieFunk  2 місяці тому +3

      @@QuoxozistPopsie Funk categorically denies these baseless allegations and 100% GUARANTEES that his music is free of A.I.!*
      With that said, Popsie Funk must acknowledge that A.I. is the future of music. Not every individual is blessed with the ability to play an instrument or to use their vocal range to a professional degree.
      For those individuals, A.I. is a Godsend. Perhaps they have talent in writing music or lyrics. Perhaps they have the ability to compose, mix and edit music tracks.
      For those folks, A.I. allows them to get in the game and allows their creativity to flow. Especially regarding the humorous subject matter that goes hand in hand with A.I. music.
      There isn't much market for this in the word of recorded music, but there is a niche for it on UA-cam.
      With all that said, hopefully you will consider liking, sharing and subscribing to Popsie Funk! The channel is updated regularly and you are sure to have a laugh and groove to the music too!

      @@omneman what's fake about it? Is it not music? Are their not lyrics? Are their not instruments? It's just another tool to create music. No different than a D.J. mixing tracks or a rapper sampling an old song for his backing track.
      Did actual musicians play these songs? Technically yes, as the A.I. is generated based on learning samples of millions of songs and outputting new compositions based on that information.
      Let me also ask this question, if I go out and play these songs in person with a band, do they then become legitimate? That is in the works, by the way.
      In any case, if you don't like the songs, listen to something else. No need to ruin other the fun for other people just because you don't like the tools being used to create the music.
      Frankly, in many ways, using A.I. is more difficult than actually playing the songs for real.
