i think that when it comes to reviewing games like this, thats is not really truth
Most people think that, but being a game reviewer can be a serious pain in the a$$. You specifically look for bugs and things you, and others, don't like about a game that you may actually enjoy. You get an advance copy, if you are lucky, which now means a day one patch can upend most of your review. Then you have to do your best to finish the game as quickly as you can without actually getting to enjoy any of it. In a game like S:GW that means you don't take time to see how far out you can get a headshot or really "play." When playing becomes work, some of the fun is gone.
After buying and playing this game, I must say, I’m glad I didn’t listen to this video. It’s made to sound like a terrible game that’s falling apart at the seams when in all honesty its pretty solid, never had any issues with enemies respawning, and it’s overall rather balanced. There is no levelling system, aside from unlockable items, but that’s all game progression. It’s a very skill based game, though it is sometimes funny to watch the enemies fumble around trying to find you when you’re just out of sight in a bush. As for the annoying bullet following camera, you can toggle it off, the graphics aren’t the best, but it’s really the only bad quality, other than that, there are a few places you can fall into and get stuck, and every once in a while you can get stuck on and invisible wall, but all this takes is a load last check point for the stuck, and a simple jump for the wall. Seriously, don’t listen to this guy, it’s a great game, even if the cut scenes look like they are robots trying to act human, but nothing we haven’t seen in oblivion or Skyrim

I love playing this game. I only bought it recently after I've been hearing about all the great patches they did. I bought it on my PS4 Pro and I have to say that it looks great and I think it has a TON of things to do and have fun with. I do see where all the concerns were originally but I have to say that in its "post patch" state that this game is awesome! Also, got it on sale for like $20! Money well spent!

I enjoy the game. At launch it was a shitshow. Missing content. Insanely long loading times and trash graphics at time. Multiplayer was finally released today after nearly a year. I do enjoy the game but it was a huge mistake buying it at launch last April

Lucky S I love it too shit on one shot I pop a soldiers eye out and another I when thru his eye.. Yes it has some bugs and sometimes stuff dissappear 😂 but it's not often I got it for 12$ with my gamestop card and it was worth every penny especially online
Good review. I enjoyed the sniping and the freedom of handling the missions myself. The biggest drawback for me are the lack of performance and responsiveness of controls. I acquired it around 20 euro's which is about the right price for this game.

Could have sworn there's a reason ARMA is on PC, the jist I get is that it's performance is more cpu based. So not a huge insentive for developers to make it right? Unless they wanna compete with ARMA...

Reesespieces I have it and hate it. The controls are terrible, it performs terribly, and the AI is hilariously bad imo. This is all on a PC that can run Witcher 3 and Battlefield 1 on ultra.

The fact that enemies do not ragdoll after the bullet cam bothers me more than it should.

Ascendant What I want to say is that the death animation is pre rendered while in the previous Ghost Warrior or in Sniper Elite enemies go ragdoll right after getting hit. I think it makes the bullet cam less interesting/fun.
yeah, at 2:41 the bullet is at the very top of the head but the impact is like the bullet hits on the center

I would have said bullet drop too but it may be sloppy reusing the same animation for everything. but we don't know what game difficulty those video shots were from. Let's assume easy. then it's lazy recycling. If it's a higher difficulty then the physics are behaving a little more realistic.

Mateusz rfsef I've been playing the game for the past 2 days and have been having fun with it. It's pretty much a slower, more realistic Far Cry (in a good way). It certanly has problems, but in my opinion anyone that enjoys sniping with realistic bullet physics would like this game.
I am 7 hours into the PC version on Hard, and i think it's pretty descent. Definitely agree that the story is very ... minimal (to put it lightly). but the gameplay/customization/weapon variety is pretty solid. definitely not a 10, but for anyone that enjoyed farcry 3/4 - you will like this game.

about sniper ghost worior 3 im curently playing it on pc and exept a few crashes i love it ... the sniping is amazing and the story looks promessing and interessting
Got this under $5, well worth it. Far Crys are better for sure, but for sniping-centric fun, this one is pretty good. Btw it's made with Cry Engine, which is why gameplay looks similar to Far Cry.
The main huge flaw is that there's no Save function-yep, you cannot press any key or select a menu option to save your progress. My fav thing in games like this is to save before some activity where I want to try out 2-3 different approaches-well forget that here, the game auto-saves when it feels like it.
The world looks nice but is a pain to get around-I like my grappling hook and wingsuit, but no such luck here. There is fast travel however-I recommend one of the first things you do is go investigate POIs-Ponts of Interest-which are on roads, most of 'em are fast travel points.
There are tech glitches, but none game-breaking. Most anoying for me is that almost every time I press 'C' the game minimizes to desktop-and 'C' is a very regular keypress. Note I'm not saying crashes, just minimizes-so click on the Taskbar icon and you're back where you were. Happens sometimes with 'R' also. If I recall correctly, I had only one crash.

First of all its a good game i liked it the opinions might be different i liked the sniping
Second of all the glitches, i mean every game will always have glitches so i think they will fix soon or any time later so its not a big of a deal.
And the game will always come with season pass edition free stuff like:
1- 2 single player expansions
2- 2 multiplayer maps , yes they will add multiplayer mode
3- and 2 weapons and a vehicle
I give this game 9/10 thats without the glitches
With the glitches i give it 7.5/10

Highly underrated aspect of the open world: Less scripted gameplay where the game forces you to do stuff exactly the way the designer imagined it. the previous titles where way too scripted for me. In SGW3 you most often can plan ahead and approach the mission your way (which in my case actually means sniping the area mostly clean before going in).
This is a good sniper game that lets you actually snipe most of the time. And such games are rare.
If you like sniping and didn't already play it, get it now. It is also often on sale on GOG.
But don't install the Improvement Project mod - it makes some missions impossible to finish because with it long range shots don't register (second Lydia DLC mission) and you can't get some quest items from another person (hotel mission in original campaign).
Glad I watched this it's on sale this month where you get the game and the season pass for £15 instead of £45.

Maybe I'm being picky having played Sniper Elite but they could of at least put some detail in to it other than a half arsed blood splatter. And the driving looks awful with way over sensitive steering

I played this game at a PC gaming event in London. I only played it for a bit, but I could tell it would be as you described!
From what I've seen you might as well just get Far Cry 4 and use a Sniper in that game through out the campaign and you'll have more fun than this.
i have both games and i prefer this one, far cry 4 is honestly verry bad in comparison (you need 5 magazines to kil a freaking cat) while in this one, if you aim well, it's a oneshot

Xbox One X user here. My perspective and experience with the game hasn’t been a good one. There seems to be a frame rate issue with small freezes especially in campaign mode and online is a jitter fest. I believe the CRI engine is either outdated or was not optimized for this open world game. While this may be the major complaint I believe the game and story line is fairly done well. The combative features are interesting and the realism for taking shots adds to the fun. I didn’t play the first two and don’t know how they were as in playability and combat. I do know battlefront 2 uses the same engine I believe but seems to not only look great enhanced but runs very smoothly. I don’t think this polish company choose the right game engine and should have used the unreal engine because it’s much easier to learn and faster on crushing bugs. Either way I hope they don’t give up on this game and will continue to work towards optimization.

I played the Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 demo and that was fun. I have a playthrough of Sniper Elite 3 that I abandoned as well. I honestly don't know which one I'd prefer yet, even though I love sniping. I just haven't had the time to play either fully.
The magic of sniping missions, and sniping games in general is that most people like to get as long a distance of a shot as possible. Really stretch that map and feel like a true legendary sniper. So the fact that this game ends up glitching out if you make shots from too far away completely negates one of the fundamental draws

I do enjoy this game allot, and i cant wait for the multiplayer but the problem with the scope could be really anoying sometimes, it all reneders but it sometimes takes some time, especialy when ur using a x28 scope. But the campain is pretty fun sniping everyone and sneaking around. The points of interest in this game are a bit sad i must say but all by all i would give it a 7/10 and with some updates hopefully to fix all of this and with multiplayer this game is gonna be a good 9/10 for me
Didn't play too long yesterday, but I didn't notice any graphic issues. runs really smooth on 60 frames, haven't had any dips so far, so seems technically okay for me. running on i7 3770k/GTX 1080

I found this game extremely challenging for those of you who actually tried to play this game as a Recon Sniper as it was intended. The scope doping was extremely immersive and satisfying, but what did bother me was the fact that the main character was referred to constantly as a Soldier who was deployed with JSOC when in reality he was a Marine Scout Sniper who probably was either attached to a Recon, Force Recon, or MARSOC element and in that case would never be completely alone in the field.

I have to say I love this game. I’m playing it in 2024 😅 I was actually in a sniper section and even though it’s not totally accurate, it is the closest a game has gotten to real life sniper mechanics.
I loved the second game. Those feelings of helplessness and survival made it great.
This game has it's fair share of problems, loading times even on an SSD are ridiculous but I still like it

I just started playing FarCry 2 and I agree with your assessment of this one. I somehow fell in awkward love with the bleak African wilderness and villages of FC2, so I for one will probablu enjoy this one.

At first I realised the crazy fps drop but I lowered setting and dealt with it. After 2 ish hours at attempting to do assasination I decided to do long shot.. the game even told you it rewards you for them. Little did I know I couldn't make them. I installed mod it fixed it a bit but fps were really low. Then I just alt + f4 and decided to try sniper elite 4

The frame rate dropping when you look through your scope is absolutely inexcusable. Not to mention the fact that you can't snipe too far...what a joke. They couldn't even get the sniping right in a sniping game! I regret buying this. Please save your money guys.

This game is trash on both PC and console, yeah PC FPS is better and when pop in is working correctly the textures look good. With that said the pop in is horrendous this game is poorly optimized for consoles and pc. I can’t even imagine how shit like this passed as a complete game.

I think you were a little too hard on this game personal, I've played all sniper ghost warrior yeah they are not the greatest but it's fun for a low budget game I enjoy it has bugs now and then like any other game but it's a lot of fun

The Wandering Dovahkiin I dont think it sucks its a6.5-7/10. I conpletely cleared like 6 provinces but I lost will to play it maybe later ill regain the love i had for it the first weeks. The idea is awesome they just failed to execute it. Its a bit mediocre considering the great initial idea. Sometimes it has terrible AI and sometimes it has extremely good IA but Its inconsistent that and vanishing corpses I cant cope with vanishing corpses .

Wow thanks heaps Gameranx. Was considering the purchase just to have a shooter game to play atm but now I'm like why spend the money at this time it looks pretty average graphics wise, which I'm not picking on, obviously it's not cod or bf but it doesn't appeal to me as much now. Cannot wait for Outlast 2 video 😉
Damn, i was excited for it, I might buy it if its on sale below 30, thats as high as I go though.
