I trained the basic commands with hand gestures added. I had the feeling they could better understand the gestures as the voice commands. Also when they got older I could give them commands from a distance. If they were further away in a noisy (many dogs playing) environment I could let them sit with just the gesture. Not all dogs are the same ofcourse but I would recommend to use gestures while giving the command. They do understand them after a very quickly.
Dude mine is very sweet to me n my family but he is very aggressive towards other people i hv never told him to attack any body n can u help me n i hv tried the treat method n he will ignore it totally until he himself doesn't wants to do it
That’s great - I have a bullmastiff cross- adult from the shelter - have had him for 3 days and he seems entirely untrained. Is there a good way to tell them that the outdoors is where the potty habits are supposed to take place? Any keys to keeping them from breaking out of their kennels?
Never train with food as a promoter. This creates bad habits that need to be broken later, which does create it’s own issues with control throughout the canines life.
The best and easiest way to train a dog is with food. Don’t know what dogs you’ve owned but I’ve had a Neapolitan mastiff, English mastiff and currently own a Rhodesian ridgeback and a cane corso, and all dogs have been trained using food and I’ve never had behaviour problems.
@@xavierp7783 over a half century of training canine too elephant, training with food creates a slave mentality. Training with treats creates an unnecessary vice. Military, police, security, all look for minds to manipulate to enforce, weaponize, and most all trainers who train for a living, look for the easy, quick reactionary techniques. Imagine training your kids the same way, and expecting them to truly learn, not just act like food activated robots. When the stimuli ceases, the training fails. Here’s a big tip, do not trust the science of psychology. I proved it is a failed science within the first two weeks as a psychology major, and what’s more, college professors know this. I won’t get into academia here, but there’s a starting eye opener. Question absolutely everything you’ve been taught growing up, and trust no one who doesn’t continue to earn it.

By acceptance I mean that all under an alpha look for approval, acceptance of behavior to reinforce strength within, and of the pack. This takes practice even in the wild.

We managed sit, lied down, roll over paws and leave it . The outside training he just picked up naturally hes to lazy to pull and likes other dogs and people .

I have 6 months old Bullmastiff female and she knows 35 commands. I taught her everything by myself, never had puppy before, but train her every day.

I have a 9 week old, got him to sit and give me his paw, anything else confuses him

Never teach your dog to lie down.... you should teach him “down”
Why?
Mine Knows “down” to get down from a person,bed or sofa and also “lie down” to well, lie down! Why never teach it down?
