This is one part of the game I really enjoy. Designing a farm yard and placing buildings is nice. I found out the hard way but always turn off your game save until you’re done. If you screw too much up you and exit the game and come back in. I just putting up a huge feedlot and grain operation on the map I’m on. Being a real life farmer helps me in laying it out. I’m new to the game so I’m still learning. Thanks to guys like you that help us out. I appreciate it. 👍🇨🇦
Really interesting video this, I'd love to see more like it too! One cool thing I've found with the "free placement" option that you inadvertently showed with the rock placement but didn't really highlight is the ability in FS22 to place decorative objects on top of things! I've found that really handy for making areas look more lived in, stacking barrels or boxes on top of each other to add different heights, adding lighting on top of fence posts or silage clamp walls and so on.
Much more to come with this factoid! Will definitely be highlighted in the video based on decorating your farms! It really does make for some fancy looking things!
Enjoyed the vid man, You have some ideas that I hadn't thought of. Looking forward to watch more of your vids. Just goes to show you. A person can learn from others if you open your mind to it.
Now, see, your having mentioned Silverrun Forest is a problem for me, as I'm now trying to math out the logistics of a terraced farm on one of the deceptively steep hills in the northwest corner of the map. This simultaneously excites and infuriates me. /s
One thing I can suggest is to freeplace the buildings in a layout that seems logical, map out your pathways, and then delete buildings, level and smooth as needed, replace buildings. May be easiest to do the later steps one building at a time.
Another very tedious thing you can do is plow to create a field wherever you are going to build. Then immediately seed that "field" with grass. It will be weird building around all dirt but the end result is green grass and no weeds (play with weed growth off). This is how I found a way to keep those annoying flowers growing back lol.
You make it look great I guess I going to try it out can you please do it on the waterway mod you were talking about and I thank you for all your hard work
Nice overview, thanks man! Where you got rid of the silo to soften the level between placeable hard edges, could you of used the Paint And Terraform Anywhere Mod? I found this works well with stuff in situ. Appreciate it's PC only mod so would need to do as you suggested on console.
So, it depends honestly with that one, it says anywhere in the title but it reallllyyy has a hard time when it’s close to something, depending on how the collision mapping is done it can be hit or miss!
I LOVE this part of FS22, but now that I have a lot of decorative packs and such, it's an absolute NIGHTMARE to find anything! You endless scroll through the icons trying to get to the object you want. WHAT A HORRIBLE GUI! It literally just rips the fun out of the game for rme! More over, We see that FS22 already has categories and ability to better organized vehicles and such! Why did they leave plants and decorative items such a mess? Even if you download one mod pack of 60 objects, you now have to endless scroll to find anything. Imagine have hundreds of decorative objects? Who came up with this? They should be fired. LOL> (JK) How can I be the only one complaining about this? Uhg.
Lol I go on rants about it damn near every farm build! Luckily I’ve taken the time to try to memorize where everything is at this point but literally that’s basically the only option!

Farm building is my favorite part by far, so much relaxation comes from just getting everything perfect!

Having done builds on silver run and other maps like silver run, it can be VERY difficult to get things right, go slow and take your time.
Amazing tips! 😎 😊Song? 🗿 outro thanks
I hope you come back to UA-cam. Your tutorial is exactly what I've been looking for.

What’s the map did u use for the intro?
is this map spruce mountain farms?
I don't have a grass texture... only meadow is this normal?
Playing on xBox X
It’s actually map dependent, different maps will have different paint textures available as well as different plant types
Longer video bro plesseeee, dont hold out on us 😂
