This video shows in full detail the operation and core functions of the Armoured Recovery Module (ARM) developed by FFG for the BOXER.
With FFG’s recovery module, BOXER user nations can effectively close a major capability gap within fleets, since it enables BOXER to carry out all those maintenance and recovery tasks that to date required heavy tracked recovery vehicles or specialist civilian vehicles at the front line.
The recovery module is armoured and weighs approx. 13 tons. It provides space for two crew members, a Commander and a Gunner.
Main tool is a 5.3m pivoting crane boom which can lift up to 20 tons. It is positioned at the rear of the recovery module. It can perform all common maintenance and recovery tasks such as changing mission modules, weapon turrets or power packs, or the lifting of vehicles for wheel changes for example.
The second essential component is a modern capstan winch with a 70 metre Kevlar rope and a pulling force of 20t for recovery and self-recovery.
With its own power supply system, the module is self-loading and may also be operated detached from the BOXER as a stationary field crane inside an operating base. All functions of the module may be remote controlled.
Enjoy the video, thank you for watching.
