    You never loose your elegant look, not even when your are ironing. You are demonstrating that ironing is not only for women. I myself, love ironing my clothes. We should all take a page from your book. Subbed to your channel.

    I'm really liking the waistcoat, and I do agree there is more than meets the eye when ironing pants. With all the clothes you have this video makes me think you iron all day.

    This video is more than interesting; it is informative, especially the review of ironing pleated pants, which I find challenging. I am OK with ironing shirts or pants that are not pleated. I am from the old school, in my mid-50s, and like pleated pants in my professional life.

    I'd like to request a video on the history of masquerade balls or parties and their etiquette. I really have no prior exposure to them and I have one in the coming month.

    To avoid glazing, "Press" the garment. Press and lift the iron do not scrub the cloths with an iron.

    • @Gotallofthem1
      @Gotallofthem1 5 років тому

      So why is he scrubbing the pants? I Too have seen other videos saying that when ironing pants you should press and lift not swipe, however this video has confused me as the man in the video is showing that it is ok?

    • @henrypan2624
      @henrypan2624 5 років тому +15

      @@Gotallofthem1 He's using a Teflon under sole (see 1:19), which acts as a barrier between the iron and the garment. In a professional tailoring house, this is how pants would be ironed. Professional tailors would press the pants with great force in order to ensure that absolutely no wrinkles would be left out. If they don't slide and scrub, the iron would leave its outline on the pants.

    How do you prevent ironing in wrinkles on the opposite side of the leg? It sometimes seems sisyphean to iron one side only to put in wrinkles on the other.. Do they make boards specifically for pants?

    I have a centrifugal extractor for removing water from clothes after washing, It leaves clothes at exactly the perfect moisture level for ironing.
    Question: when clothes have gotten shiny, from wear or ironing, is there a way to remove that shine?

    May I know why use a wood clapper when one can just simply use the iron? the bottom of the iron is also flat and it has more weight, isn't it will become a better "clapper" compare to the wood one?

    • @ignotasturskis5375
      @ignotasturskis5375 5 років тому +2

      The clapper sucks the moisture out of the fabric, allowing it to keep the crease that you ironed in better. Without it, the moisture and temperature that remains in the fabric for a few seconds, will support the natural process of the crease straightening out (think of what happens if you just steam a crease without pressing down with the iron).

  • @mmbnyc2003
    @mmbnyc2003 5 років тому +2

    I found the video informative.. however.. I have a $10 board and a $20 iron and I don't feel like spending a bunch more on gadgets and gizmos to press a pair of pants.
    I guess this would be useful if your're doing this every single day. Thanks.

      if you iron inside out you know the crease/seam is going to be outside in (or backwards)
