Shure recommends less than 300 ohms but they also recommend the grace m101 which is 8.1k input impedance.. getting the cloudlifter cl-Z Will free me from any issues I think
Thanks for the very informative review. I still don't know the exact impedance of the out of this device. I assume It's the same as the microphone being used, since the device is passive with no transformer. It sounded like it gave you complete control over the impedance without affecting the impedance out. If it lowered the impedance out, it would be helpful with a vintage Mic pre with a very low impedance. Very low impedance vintage Mic pre are reasonably priced. Very low impedance vintage microphones are insanely expensive, if they are studio quality and worth having. Low impedance vintage microphones start at $65,000. Oh well, I like the device. You can use it to "dial in" that vintage low impedance sound (colour).
Sounds great but do you know how it compares to the new Aston stealth? I need this type of mic soon in my studio for voiceover... Keep up the good work! Cheers!
ha...i definetely need a review from you David about the audiofuge, i wonder if it can drive the sm7b alone also...btw i am between audiofuge and clarett usb for my next upgrade, at this price range i think they are among the top choices on 8 mic count pres
Nice video and to hear the effect of the 2 cloudlifters. I am most interested in the Arturia Pre8 and after the specs of this interface the preamps should be able to amplify 72db + 10db additional digital gain which should be enough juice for a Shure SM7B. The piece where the acoustic guitar was played without cloudlifter was very very low in volume. I don't think the preamp was on max ??
MixbusTV Thanks for answering and yes I saw the review of the pre8 😁👍 Very nice audiointerface/preamp and I tried the preamp vst modules that come with it and they are very nice to enhance the sound of an acoustic guitar and easy to use. Keep up the good work 👍
David I have a question. I use a SM7b and I'm about to buy an warm audio preamp (273eq). Do I still need a cloud lifter before the preamp? Seeing this video I understand I should have bought one a long time ago. Always have tu push the gain knob too much...
Hi David, I just bought SMB7 and saw this vid about the Cloudlifter CL-1, do I need to put it in between PreAmp and Mic even when I have +48 Phantom power on my PreAmp activated ? Thx
Condenser mics need phantom power to work, and the Cloudlifter doesn't share any of its phantom power with the microphone it is being used with, so a condenser microphone simply will not work.
6 videos in and I finally got to hear A/B and the knob turning. Thank you!
The best review video about using filter. There is a new preamp warm audio filter, with two filters
That was awesome and kudos to everyone that participated.
I have the Sm7B and the basic cloudlifter. They work great together.
no wonder these 2 vocalists sound so familiar! you've been using their vocal tracks to demo your compressors & plugins!
Amazing Video As always
I love the tone changing capabilities
Good demo David. I use Cloudlifters on all my dynamic and passive ribbon mics.
Awesome video. Thanks for showing the Z
I see that Fireball 100 back there. I have one of those lol
Somente tenho agradecer pelo conteúdo oferecido de uma forma muito profissional mas ao mesmo tempo descontraída . 👏🏻
your video was so helpful Thank you so much for sharing awesome! video ..you're
the best!

As soon as you buy a Shure SM7B like I did, get ready to buy a Cloudlifter the very next purchase.

Are you usually using clean pres with SM7? Used it with some neve found it too dark and hard to mix
Good video, but the singers should have sing closer in front of the SM7b. Not so many space in between.

yes
SOLD
Why cant i use it on condenser mic? I kindve didnt really understand why

@@mixbustv so basically it just adds extra volume to mics, which i presume are quieter, after being given phantom power from preamp?
NO BODY SPEAKS ENGLISH. ITS PHANTOM POWERED BUT YOU CANT CONNECT PHANTOM POWER MICROPHONES
Evil.
