Do you find any advantage to stacking the springs up on one end rather than spacing the springs out between each of the freezeplugs? Such as; spring-freezeplug-spring-freezeplug-spring-freezeplug etc...
nah, that makes the cup wobble. stacked springs are compressed into a steel coil with the aluminum tube, nice and strong that way. Springs go closest to the barrel to provide airspace (head space). Your cleaning brush goes into this area, since the bristles need to turn before pulling back up barrel.
Id never clean my barrel with a can on it....and I dont think if done properly, with enough springs between plugs, the plugs would wiggle unacceptably. And it would still have springs in the "headspace" section, just not as many, which I think would do wonders for noise reduction. But, im no rocket surgeon with a bunch of money to waste on tax stamps for experiments on youtube 🤷♂️🤣
Why not put springs between the freeze plugs, making a larger "chamber" for the gasses to calm down in, and then tighten em all up with a slightly smaller "headspace" area?
What is the current law regarding solvent traps? I keep reading different conflicting versions, some scary, some not. I've heard you need a form 1 for a solvent trap regardless if you want to modify it or actually use it to capture the solvent.
There should be no issues with this legally As long as you don't complete your build, and wait until you make sure to pay your stamp and then build it and serialize, you should be fine. It's not illegal to build your own . Follow those rules and your legal to my understanding.
WTF - F - F ??? I went to their website. Virtually everything is out of stock. The tube length shown in this video doesn't even appear on their web pages.
This has got to be the most janky "solvent trap" I've ever seen. Bunch of springs, all aluminum, flat baffles..."brought to you by 5 Second Firearms" which is appropriate because that's about how long it would take you to realize you made a huge mistake by buying this crap.
yep, too complex for simple folk. We prove our stuff in the field. It would be nice to upload those vids. But some folks still believe in Santa Claus.......
Did you know its illegal to publicly post how to manufacture a sawed off shotgun? You saw the barrel off. Thats illegal knowledge. Same with mufflers for your gun.
I can't see how these people pretend that this is a solvent trap. It is an obvious end run on suppressor classification. If you want a solvent trap, just slip an empty soda bottle over the end of your rifle. A Coleman fuel filter / funnel can be bought at any sporting goods store. Wala, filtered solvent to return to your container, as if anyone ever collected enough solvent and then returned it to the original container! LMAO. Consider this, $200 tax being constitutional when it comes to suppressors is a valid argument. But as the law stands now, a $200 tax is a molehill compared to the mountain the legal costs you will have when the ATF drops in to inspect your "Solvent Trap." I won't say, don't be stupid because stupid people do stupid things regardless of any warning.
My God you guys keep playing the solvent trap cleaning devices nobody is fooled nobody cleans their guns like that just call it what it is. I don't mean to sound like a ass or be disrespectful I'm just saying show me one video of someone actually cleaning their guns that way
@johnny jones that is hilarious considering there is nobody cleaning their weapons that way. And considering I break mine down and clean and oil each piece individually. And break them down and oil where it's needed when I have not used them in a while my weapons are cleaner than anyone's using that non existent method. I never have any kind of issues with mine. But to be fair show me a video of someone cleaning their weapons with that method and I will apologize and admit I was wrong. Otherwise they are unregistered suppressors and using a unfinished loophole to get around it. I don't care people can do whatever they want just call it what it is though
@@kschantz well honestly I have never had my weapons full of soap and water so there was nothing I couldn't get running a boresnake through. And because I clean them when I am done with them there is nothing caked on that is a problem to get out. I was taught that malfunctions can happen when powder sticks to oil so I don't feel like reducing my survival chances or being unsuccessful in the field. But I can't tell anyone what they should or shouldn't do it's not my life
Man brother I love your wording my friend!;)
