@@creoleman24 But Flash wasn't born with it. In fact almost no superheroes other than mutants are born with it. If you want to go Marvel alone, Silver Surfer is so much faster than Quicksilver he could kill him literally a thousand times over before Quicksilver could react.
A couple of points about Superman, The Flash, and Captain Marvel: 1) Superman can also move faster than the speed of light, and has also traveled through time in several issues. He also did it in the 1978 movie. He doesn’t do it nearly as often as the Flash because it requires more effort, but he is more than capable of achieving that speed. He’s one of the only non-speedsters who can actually see the Flash while he’s moving at super speed. We can’t sleep on just how fast Superman really is. 2) You have Captain Marvel ranked higher than Superman because of her max potential speed shown onscreen. But not only does this assume that we know what Superman's top speed actually is (based on a single example from one film), but you also failed to consider that Superman can achieve his top speed almost instantly. Top speed and top acceleration are two different things! While Captain Marvel may have the ability to reach incredible speeds over a certain span of time, she does not have the ability to accelerate as fast as Superman or any of the speedsters. From a standstill, she would not be able to dodge a punch by Superman, where as he could dodge any of her attacks. Superman can not only fly fast, but he can also perceive other beings moving as such speeds and react to them accordingly. There's no evidence that Captain Marvel has that ability. Her powers would not enable her to perceive or react to speedsters or anything accelerating that fast. She would not for example be able to track the Flash while he was running, whereas Superman can. 3) The major difference between Superman and The Flash (and why the Flash will always be faster) is that the Flash can enter the “speed force” and Superman cannot. In the DC Universe, a “speedster” has the speed force. Superman is not a true speedster, although his powers allow him to achieve similar feats. However, Superman can only achieve beyond light speed while flying outside of Earth’s atmosphere. He is still affected by the normal laws of physics which make it impossible for him to achieve light speed or beyond while affected by atmospheric drag. If he did, he would most likely destroy the Earth in the process. The Flash meanwhile is using the speed force and his molecules are vibrating so fast that he can phase entirely through the air easily (or even solid matter). He is essentially in another dimension where physics are different. He can run faster than Superman can fly, and he can break the time barrier without ever leaving the ground.
Question ❓ If Captain Marvel is up to her max flying speed after reaching top speed how can she see where she's flying, when she can't even see the Flash(according 2 u)when he's running?
@Johnadams20760 on a normal day the flash is faster. But if superman is around a blue sun or is closer to a yellow sun, he becomes faster. There's no limit to his speed, he has no access to the speed force no matter how fast he flies while the flash can only run a certain speed
When Sonic kept bouncing off of objects to hit robotnik in the first movie, he was going from so many angles that he created a ball of light . That's basically a light bulb when the speed of light enters the source and leaves it so fast it looks like the light bulb is steady on even though it's turning on and off constantly. That's basically what Sonic did
Technically its the most accurate. If the camera were to move at the same speed as the flash, it would show him moving slow while the surroundings will speed up.
Some mistake there at MAKKARI If the Atlantic ocean is 2800 miles wide and she was running at 2800mph, that means she would complete the distance in exactly 1 hour. But she ran across it in seconds. So she was much faster than that
Let's calculate; Speed= Distance/Time. Speed=x Distance=2800 miles Time= 2 minutes (let's have it) LConvert 2 minutes into hours. 2/60= 0.033 hours. Now speed= 2800/0.033 => 84848 Ans= Makkari speed is 84848 mph. Faster than Sonic and Superman.
And if we calculate by taking the exact time (i.e. 14 seconds) from the movie scene then her speed will be 719,282 miles per hour. Faster than Saitama.
@@otakumonkey Superman’s calculations were way off too 😂 he said Superman traveled 200,000 miles in 8 seconds but then said he flies at approximately 55,923 mph lmfao. The dude in the video is just saying whatever without doing the math
Superman went back in time in the original movie. He flew around the earth so fast it started to turn the opposite direction and somehow that turned back time.
It's an interesting concept to me, that the writers have decided moving a certain faster than light speed is what makes time travel. Rather, it would make more sense if he could time travel by running fast, rather than because he's running fast. Like, a separate power than his superspeed, but superspeed is just the method of pressing that button. Running ftl logistically doesn't send you through time or to alternate realities -it just makes you ftl. So, I guess it would work like the DeLorean in Back to the Future. 80 MPH is how it time travels, but it doesn't time travel because it's 80 mph.

Well, running faster than _causality_ is what moves you back in time but it just so happens that causality travels at the speed of light (in a vacuum).
That's a made up fact. The speed of causality is the same as the speed of light because information can't transmit faster than light. In other words, the effect of a cause can't be perceived in any fashion at faster than light speeds. The assumption that if a fictional superpower allowed for an object to move faster than light then it must also time travel, is the idea that I'm challenging. Surely, it would be reasonable to suggest no object could perceive causality of ftl travel, and from a non-ftl observer may conclude the object simply teleported, even if it didn't technically. But that doesn't mean it went backwards in time, or else the object would be in two places at one time, which is a completely different concept to speed.

@@pattycake520, it's not a made-up fact, it's a factual fact. Superman (1978 Movie) He flew around Earth around 100 times(?) in a few seconds to rewind time(or go back in time) The speed of light, which is approximately 299,792 kilometers per second (186,282 miles per second); this would allow you to circumnavigate the Earth roughly 7.5 times in one second. curious if goku or vegeta would land anywhere in here cause they can travel between planets in seconds. Though, I'm sure some would say goku's instant transmission probably doesn't count for speed, but not everyone has it like vegeta or krillin and they all are still extremely fast lol
Flash is so fast there is no phisical way to measure his speed. In comics he could run so fast to puch holes in space-time and enter other universes. Nontheless, 1978 Superman was crazy fast in final scene when he reverse time going around the earth multiple time a second. So 1978 superman should be probably nr 2.
Correct. Based on movies alone, Superman has demonstrated the ability to exceed light and reverse time. Being 2nd place to the Flash is not an insult. It's freaking awesome.
This is where there are factors to consider when it comes to determining how fast a character actually is. Before "Crisis on Infinite Earths" the fastest someone could travel in the DCU was just under the speed of light. Once you reach the speed of light you don't go any faster, instead you start to travel in time. That's how Superman, as Superboy, was able to travel to the 30th Century and back.
This video is missing a few characters that are speedsters, too. Not that big of a deal since it took reversing the entire earth but flash can run himself through time within just a short distance of open space to run
We can also take into account other feats of the characters, in which, of course, Flash wins, as in the CW, I think it's 4th season (it wasn't the prime of that Flash yet), an atomic bomb exploded, and he spent hours and hours moving and thinking about how to stop the explosion that had already started, or in the comics, in which he saved 500k people in a microsecond, also when, from the other end of the universe, he made a race with a teleport user and won (with a little help, but in the end it's still his feat).

A couple of points about Superman, The Flash, and Captain Marvel:
1) Superman can also move faster than the speed of light, and has also traveled through time in several issues.
What if superman was closer to a larger and hotter sun
not only that, but superman has flown to other galaxies in seconds. althoughth by default the flash will always be the fastsst,
@Johnadams20760 on a normal day the flash is faster.

Some mistake there at MAKKARI
If the Atlantic ocean is 2800 miles wide and she was running at 2800mph, that means she would complete the distance in exactly 1 hour. But she ran across it in seconds. So she was much faster than that
You really check every detail 👏👏👏
Let's calculate;
Speed= Distance/Time.
Speed=x
Distance=2800 miles
Time= 2 minutes (let's have it)
LConvert 2 minutes into hours.
2/60= 0.033 hours.
Now speed= 2800/0.033
=> 84848
Ans= Makkari speed is 84848 mph. Faster than Sonic and Superman.
And if we calculate by taking the exact time (i.e. 14 seconds) from the movie scene then her speed will be 719,282 miles per hour. Faster than Saitama.

Superman flew faster than 186,000 miles per second in the first movie, this causing time to reverse. You got the speed of light wrong, very wrong.
Yes, information can't be transmitted faster than light, but here we're talking about a being who _can_ transmit information faster than light because he/she can _move_ faster than light. Since this cannot happen in _our_ universe we have to extrapolate from what happens when you _approach_ the speed of light and what happens _at_ the speed of light to answer the question of what would logically happen if you _could_ move faster than light.
Matpat actually did calculations, and the movie sonic actually reaches near light speed, based on where he goes from Montana to the middle of the Pacific Ocean and back, in a matter of seconds (however it’s possible he wasn’t going very hard so he could be faster)

Being 2nd place to the Flash is not an insult. It's freaking awesome.
This is where there are factors to consider when it comes to determining how fast a character actually is. Before "Crisis on Infinite Earths" the fastest someone could travel in the DCU was just under the speed of light.
