- So, after around 70 hours of work and about 20 loads to the landfill, I've mostly done the drive and the back. There are still a few small things to do, but all of the major work is done. All I have left now is some power washing, some small repairs, building a dog barrier and another episode on the getting the drive up to scratch! (you'll have to watch the next episodes to see all of that, hahaha).....
Some of you will probably remember this property because I've already done 6 episodes here. Back then I decided not to clean up the backyard and some of the front as it was just too crazy. Well, I've had a change of heart, and I'm back to finish off the whole lot. And when I say this yard is crazy, I mean CRAZY! It's full of blackberries, rubbish, old trees and what's left of the garden beds. To get this property back up to scratch, I would say it going to be quite a few episodes. I'm going to do the best I can here, as the homeowner really needs the help. I'm also going to go back over the work I've done, as I could have done better! I hope you enjoy the episode and stay tuned for the biggest transformation I've ever done - what a challenge! All up, I spent around 12.5 hours on this episode, including 3 trips to the landfill. Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷♂️
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem to be the same?
A: Quick Cuts (my original channel) has music in the background. Quick Cuts V2 is for those that like just machine noise, and it doesn't have music.

I had to laugh a bit at you mentioning the comments you got about your pantry. Holy hell, you are doing something right!!! You are slim, ultra-fit, strong, energetic, and incredibly mentally focussed. Not to mention ultra kind and good hearted but that comes from your heart, not your diet. We should all be eating like you!
Anyway, I've run out of superlatives. I've closely watched every episode on this humungous project and it is just so incredible what you've achieved. Just watching it on a screen, I felt like I could *breathe* when the last of that blackberry and crap was removed.
When you said that basement room floods I wondered why there wasn't a drain, and then you found it -- all blocked. So good of you to even buy something to try and clear it.
I'm starting to wonder if there aren't some hoarding tendencies going on here, or maybe the poor woman is just overwhelmed with her situation and/or couldntn't afford to pay someone to take away the old whiteware. I'm so glad you got rid of the head of that old pick-axe!! Yikes!

This will be the most honest comment anyone will read today. I am hooked on these type of videos and have seen some outstanding transformers, who take a chaotic mess and bring order to the chaos, but you sir have outdone them all with this huge task. I can imagine that you are one of Jim's Mowings most respected workers, and any person in Hobart who needs yard work done must hire you, in fact I would have a regular appointment if I had a huge yard or a yard with many trees or bushes. This will go down as an all time classic transformation! I always admire people who do what I know I could not and in this case my admiration is fully deserved!

George, you should get an award for being the Humanitarian of the Year! Maybe even the decade! You have helped so many people over the years with badly overgrown properties. This property is definitely the worst one ever. To see you struggle through these past 7 episodes made it hard for me to watch, but I did, even though I had many tears to shed. I can truly understand letting a property get out of control. What I will never understand is the amount of trash in those yards. Here in the USA we call those people hoarders. Hello George, I like to read some of the comments from other viewers and I agree with 98% of their comments about how great, kind, hardworking, generous person you are.
The other 2 % of the comments are from people that I guess have a perfect life and financially well and don’t know how hard it is to have a son with severe mental health and probably has no constant family support.
I really appreciate you helping her. You see I have severe depression for the past 5 years and thank God I am a lot better now , I had 2 life traumatic events that made me spiral down a deep hole and sometimes something will happen and I get depressed and don’t want to see , talk, or do anything. Our minds are our biggest enemy at times.
Thank you George for sensing the pain and need of this mom. You have cleared her mind of all that chaos.
