    I saw him when holidaying in Porto. My mate who’s a big Porto fan said “watch out for this kid, he’s brilliant: only young, will probably only play 60 mins but he’s going to be awesome”. He was, and as a United fan I was really pleased when we bought him.
    I can’t believe how quickly and badly wrong it went.

    Excellent video, it summarised his career pretty well. As a Grêmio fan i only add that he was never hated at Grêmio. When he went to Internacional it was just odd, his lack of fitness was well known in Brazil and, with his high salary, no one was expected to sign him. Also, to be fair, his substitution in the first half of that Libertadores game can also be applied to the high altitude of La Paz, Bolivia (around 3600m). Lastly, i think you could make an good video about Ronaldinho relationship with Grêmio, it was his youth club and he claims to be his favourite, but he is absolutely despised and hated by the club and its fans.

      Wow, Really? I'm curious what happened between ronaldinho, Gremio and its fans

    • @leandrou100
      @leandrou100 Рік тому +13

      @@Fkacu that's a long history. Gremio refused selling him to PSV,PSG and Leeds back in 2001ish. So he signed a pre-contract with PSG the moment he was allowed to without the club consent. The fans and the club felt betrayed because he always told to the press that he would love to stay in the club, and years earlier he said he would even play Gremio for free. Then started a judicial battle. Then in 2011 Gremio did everything they could to get Ronaldinho back,when he wanted to return to Brazil,even offering bigger wages than Palmeiras and Flamengo. But Ronaldinho chose Flamengo cause of his friends and Rio's nightlife. The worst part is that him and his manager never said no to Gremio,they kept Gremio's board on dark until the very last moment. The expectations for his return where really high,they even had speakers in Gremio's stadium waiting for him, only to know out of nowhere he had signed with Flamengo. This was the last straw for Gremio's supporters who started hating him so much that he is almost a "persona non grata"(not welcomed) in Porto Alegre.
      Still in 2011, Gremio and Flamengo had a match in Porto Alegre which Ronaldinho was booed the f*** out of the building. To this day he sometimes says to the press the Gremio is his favorite club,but he never apologized for the disrespect.

      We live in a very unequal society. Normally, football players come from poorer backgrounds, leaving home very early to live in the clubs' lodgings. They lose their childhood and face the pressure of being the new Ronaldo, Pelé, Zico, Neymar, from a very early age. It is common to see these players lose their minds or grow alienated from social and political issues. Soccer, like the rest of the world, is a mirror of Brazilian society. We temps potential, but we are still a third world people.

    I remember being astonished by his quality when he played for Porto, probably the best ball control with acceleration and speed combo I have ever seen and I had no doubt he was on the route to becoming one of the best all time.
    At my 20s I had already seen football with reasonably matured perception and impressive players like Figo, Rui Costa, Deco, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Zidane, Roberto Carlos, early CR7 and Messi, and I was very excited about Anderson.
    If I recall correctly, he barely was at the starting eleven and was saved for later on in the matches, which looked to me a waste of his huge capacity to influence the attack.
    Suddenly he was sold after a few months and I was pissed my team would not retain such a diamond for a season or two. We were recovering from the void left from the departure of Deco (Barcelona) and his replacement Diego (Werder Bremen) and this to me was a blow.
    At the time I could not follow ManUtd much, so I never seen him play at the same quality again. When I noticed he was repositioned to a box-to-box I could not believe such offensive talent could be wasted this way and I was pissed at the coach for ruinning a player like this. I remember telling a brazilian student how good he was at Porto and how they were destroying his talent at the time.
    It is a shame he couldn't shine anymore.

    Anderson was misused by sir Alex Ferguson at man United. Alex made him worse. Used him as a defensive midfielder sometimes, made him irregular, a substitute, he became inactive at man United than at Porto

      Harsh to say Sir Alex ruined him. Sir Alex reinvented him in light of his injury based limitations and he thrived in that position. Strong on the ball with good control who can either dribble or pass his way out of situations.
      He won pots with Sir A including a CL. What ruined Anderson was poor discipline. Immaturity. You name it. His prime career may have been short but he did reach some footballing heights.
