- Wonder Studio promises AI motion capture and amazing visual effects--but does it work if you shoot with an iPhone and have no experience with VFX or CG? Is AI going to make it possible to create Hollywood-style movies with your phone and browser? Well... we're definitely getting closer!
For this demo, I shot everything on an iPhone and used the Wonder Dynamics Lite plan (the least expensive option they offer).

that stroke around the 'characters' it's a „no go“ for me
I did a test where I removed myself from the scene with Runway's Magic tools and it did better than Wonder. Then I brought the alpha channel export of the character in from Blendr and enlarged it to cover the blurry halo area. More of an experiment than a proper workflow.
I agree, just goes to show how "edited" these demo reels are when a company promotes its product.

I have made several. It’s a great platform for solo filmmakers.

It seems like the halo is larger than it needs to be and they could just make the characters a little larger to cover it. I also paused my subscription for now.
Thanks for the video but how come the animation of a character walking on a blender stalls? that is to say that on the original video the character walks forward but when I export the scene from wonder studio on blender the animation of the character walking remains in the same position without moving forward? Thanks you
Have you tried exporting it from Blender? I am brand new to Blender but it seems like all of the cameras/views show different things in the work area, but (for me) the render from Blender always matched the video when I used Camera 1.

You can switch to any character that Wonder Dynamics has available in their library but you can't (yet) switch to characters from other sources.
So the robots or cgi models that you used are already rigged or they are just 3d model without rig?
If they are not rigged that is super amazing.
I don't know a lot about 3D but I believe they are rigged. There are only a limited number of models to choose from now. I think one thing people are using it for is capturing the motion then rigging up their own models in Blendr/Maya. That's beyond my abilities atm.

Not yet, my understanding is that they need to simplify the rigging, according to someone in these comments.

Problem is the rigging. All folks are doing is showing the same robot characters. Not a real representation of what it can do. They need to simplify the rigging.
Ah, that explains it. I feel like the major downside of Wonder is the limited characters. I couldn't figure out why it's not easier to buy/commission a character from a Blendr artist but it must be related to rigging. Thanks for the insight!

It's paid, I did the $19/monthly plan for one month. If you do it, just don't forget to cancel if you're only testing it out.

Yes, but *seconds* per month, which I think you meant. So it could be one long clip or lots of short clips. I just looked and you now get 150 seconds of live action for the $19 monthly plan, so basically two minutes plus a little bit to use as testing.
